A Moldovan dancer who was on the bridge of the Costa Concordia with Captain Francesco Schettino has admitted she was his lover. Giving evidence at his trial, Domnica Cemortan refused three times to say whether she was having an affair, before the judge threatened her with criminal charges.
Finally she said: "Yes, I had a relationship with him. Stop. Now, could we please move onto more important things."
The captain has acknowledged fault in the trial, but his defence team is arguing the ship sank in part because watertight doors did not function on the ship. Thirty two people were killed when the cruise ship hit rocks of the Tuscan island of Giglio in January 2012.
Captain Schettino faces multiple charges of manslaughter and abandoning ship. If convicted he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Report by Sarah Johnston.

The captain said he slipped and fell into the rescue boat, and that's how he supposedly "abandoned the ship involuntarily". Maybe he also slipped and fell into this chick.

They were supposed to be 600 meters further away from the island but there was a miss communication with the officers on the bridge which made the turn to wide

I am pretty they were unaware of how close they actually got because the Third in command was supposed to give positional coordinates everytime the ship changed direction but she wasn't doing that.

I assumed that captain have important connection at company,. Any act that not pleased him would soon affected to their job. If not,it impossible for a man like him would be a captain. The impact is accident. But there is more than enough time to do the right thing to safe life. It pure captain and company management responsibility.

Look at us judging each other us humans maybe they do have narcissistic traits.. I definitely know I have and I’ve got lots of other traits that are seen as unfavourable ect ect.. but if I have any good traits (yes I will beat my own drum) it’s the fact that on this comments section or face to face eye to eye I’m the first to openly admit I’m human with distasteful human behaviour and negative viewpoints sometimes even though I can own up to this I’m still a hypocrite and still have double standards..again because I’m human.. judge the captain and his lover..they got involved in something millions around the world do became attracted to one another began an affair.. She speaks such nonsense of dying twice.She loved the power of attention a d having an affair on the ship with the Captain.Now she acts like she's the victim.She should be ashamed of herself.But unfortunately,thats the life on cruiseships.I know as i ve work on them before,so many woman and men are trying to sleep their way up the ranks as they are on the ship for 4 to 6 months at a time.Terrible lifestyle.Wouldnt recommend anyone to work on these ships.So much gossip and betrayal!!!

Quit calling him Captain. Francesco Schettino that is it. It is nothing wrongwith him having a girlfrind. But A Capatin that jumps ship is not worth in weight in salt. A Captain goes down the ship period.He helps people get off the ship or dies trying.

Even if it was a 6 man crew, there still would have been more than 1 crew member in the room, there is at all times. So unless another crew member was watching them do it, then it didn't happen in the crew room.

If I were her, I would've demanded the judge to tell me exactly which criminal charge I could be facing for not wanti g to tell him about my private affairs. She's not to blame for anything. Whenever I hear or read "a dancer/actor/model ADMITTED an affair with..." - would rather read the same text as "a dancer/actor/model ACCUSED of having an affair.." I don't really see the difference - it happens all the time and if they can get some money - they'll "admit" that.. So it's if anything - an accusation rather than admittance.. And they get away with it anyway, so, what's the point in admitting when only one of them will pay for that.. Kinda sad though.. The captain's accused already, why do they need to go further than that

Yes its disgusting that a 26 y/o mother would be so involved with a 50 y/o married captain. Had she been a responsible mother this would not have happened. The ship owners should have first promoted a gentleman with courage and God fearing to such a position. They are equally to blame. 1 million does not justify the damage done and loss of life.

The former captain of the ship who is a man crashed a cruise ship that led to 32 deaths, lied about how bad the crash was until he was forced to, and "slipped" onto a rescue boat leaving people he could of helped behind. Yes women can be cruel and I hate them too but this is not the situation you should be using for a "women bad" debate specifically on the grounds on how "men don't break hearts". He cheated on his wife with this girl and even was with other women as well. His wife has more of a broken heart due to him than this girl.
