@Khaye Ayubann I'm talking about the dance cast itself being on the GCD. It's clearly intentional too, the CD for it has this inner orange circle in addition to the normal recast one.
fortris unlike mudra, the dancer doesn’t get punished for messing it up. As long as they complete the pattern before time runs out. So it’s NOT worse than mudras.
@@fortris thats why the dances have OP potency to compensate for the time it takes. They cant just give dancers a move that hits like a mini Limit Break and let them pop it off in a second
Dancer's been a favorite class of mine ever since Amy from GrandChase. It's a close second to Spell/Magic Knights. Mime would be interesting though, haha.
@Khaye Ayubann man I am so ready for this. Our Scholar got so much shit at the start of SB that she's still concerned joining PF parties, despite the good state scholar finds itself in
This is the best DNC video I've seen so far. I felt you really explained how to class will probably flow during gameplay the best! Thank you for the video!
@@JoshStasio884 It is ranged persay, but ranged like a RDM. You have quite a few abilities that are point blank aoes around the dancer that will obviously require mediumish melee range.
@@JoshStasio884 It's part of the rare Mid-to-Close Playstyle. In which you move in and out of Melee, trying to keep your distance but not wanting to get too far away. I for one LOVE this playstyle! It's part of the reason I liked Red Mage, but this looks like not only does it better capture this play style (As Red Mage is more like a full on ranged class that gets up close for a finisher) but also to be A LOT less brain dead. But If you HAD to label this playstyle you'd have to call it ranged because it's not really a Melee playstyle.
If anything it's more like AST/NIN/RDM. AST Since it has the dance every 30 seconds like card draw for buffs. The steps are sort of like the mudras where you need to input the right ones in a certain order. RDM because they have to get into Melee range to do most of their AoE dances in Melee range.
As SAM i must say im relieved that at the very least we have the saving grace of having the 1,2k potency midare with a 60 sec CD. Otherwise id have to learn how to dance LOL!
I’m confused I saw your channel in my recommendation for so long and I thought you must have at least 2m subs. You’re video is of quality and so underrated
Tell me about it. DNC alone is what makes me want to get my hands on Shadowbringers when I can. I must transform my cat boi from a floor tank to an exotic dancer.
For "En Avant", you don't pronounce the "t" at the end. He's here, but he's silent. He's a shy boi! Thanks for all those videos, take some rest now tho!
It sounds more like a melee/range DPS hybrid more than a straight up ranged DPS. I'll definitely be levelling it up on release with GNB. Another awesome video Larry 😁
Oh wow! I just started playing FFXIV this year and your videos really helped me loving it even more. Fell in love with the community instantly, because everyone I met so far was really friendly and ready to help. Something I'm not exactly used to in online games. When I saw that a dancer job was coming, I was very thrilled! I'm an absolute lover of fan dances especially. I so hoped there would be fan weapons or skills. And there are! I'm absolutely loving this. So thanks for the insight! I never was so hyped for a game or expansion before and I'm ready to learn and hopefully master the dancer job :D
Thanks Larry I tried watching mr. Happy's video on it and nothing against him but I was completely confused and stop the video Midway in your break down made it seem a lot more reasonable to me so I'm really looking forward to this job
Now I'm just imagining a Roegadyn Dancer or Hrothgar Dancer just being big beasts on the battlefield and dancing in the ballet, and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT!
OMG, I can’t wait to do the job quest and learn to master the art of dancer. Like this looks so fun and I new they would have a curing dance to help out healers and a protective dance. OMG I’m so excited 💃💃💃
btw, the T is silent in Esprit. "uh-spree" or "eh-spree." It's Latin for spirit, but basically means being spirited, or quite lively, bouncy, etc. Makes sense for dancer.
Really excited to try this class out, after Stormblood no class really clicked that well with me so I can't wait to waltz around the battlefield. Thanks for showing how DNC males look too!
Oh gods I am so glad I practiced Bard before this after finding out that Dancer was a ranged physical DPS. Never knew that my past with being dangerously good at rhythm games would come in handy for an MMO.
Been playing for a few weeks. Excited to add this to my role roster. I love to have mobile fighters. Before I used to stay with ranged fighters, glad to have switched.
What do you think Dancer will be like on higher Ping? I'm INCREDIBLY hyped to play it, but I play on an NA server while in EU, and I'm concerned it'll be like Ninja or Summoner where despite being two of my favourite Jobs, I can't optimally play them.
The dances are not like mudras, they're on a lower GCD timer however it looks to be around 1-1.5s and you can't "screw up" (You can press the wrong button, but you can try again) and they don't seem to have many oGCD abilities. Should be fine!
@@Bloodshot781 I'm in a same shoes. Playing from EU on an NA server. EU can be a language mess, it's totally not guaranteed, that you'll speak the same language as your random teammates. Also have friends on NA, and the RP community is better (it also help that everyone speaks english). And since I'm more of a casual gamer, I don't mind the higher ping that much.
I am in EU on an NA server as well but I can play NIN just fine. What do you have issues with exactly? The mudras? Cause for me at least, the game is also bit slow to react to mudra inputs but I just hit the mudra combo to get the outcome I want even if it isn't visually or audibly reacting yet after an input. At first I used to think I didn't hit a mudra properly, would do so again, and inadvertently wound up hitting the same mudra twice in the end, failing my combo. So after realizing this, I've just starting hitting the next ones in the combo even if it isn't clear it is registered by the game yet, and it has always worked out just fine like that for me ever since. I dunno if that's useful for you, but I figured I may as well share in case it is!
Dancer main here I come. It honestly doesn't seem that complicated. It's just about knowing which abilities to hit when they light up. I'm excited to start my journey as one.
I'm a completely new player, I had my eye on Machinist, because I love anything event remotely steampunk, and that was as close to that I could find in this game. But this video made me kinda want to try out Dancer as well. Thanks for the video, it was interesting.
THEY DID IT!! THEY FLIPPING DID IT!!! DNC GOT A HEAL!! And now to continue to ask for a regen song for brd, brb afk forever ;P But on a serious note, thank you Larry. This was a concise and still adorably delivered explanation of dancer. It exceeded what I was hoping for the job. Thank you so much for this video!^^
