The thing I like about NewJeans choreo is that it fits their aesthetic so well, their sound and look is young and fresh y2k and their choreo really vibes like that too. Like 5 friends making a dance together just turned up a level in terms of cleanliness

The meaning behind their name is that jeans are a piece of clothing that everyone loves and will go with anything (they're flexible and talented in multiple things), while the word jeans also sounds like genes, so they're bringing a new type of group into kpop and are starting something unique, fresh and young by bringing in their new genes.

NewJeans are still rookies, and are a really young group. Like born 2004-2008. I don’t know a ton about them. They are clean and have blown up. Their song Hype Boy blew up on TikTok. They are under the HYBE umbrella. I recommend checking out Pixy and PinkFantasy who are choreographed by MOTF. I love their stuff.

They're legit a breath of fresh air and definitely recommend reacting to their hype boy, ditto dance practice and I personally loved their MAMA and MMA performances because of their dance breaks❤️

They’re new and just debuted🙌 I like to think their name New Jeans came from the fact that they’re a new sound in Kpop. Theyre different from what other groups are currently doing.

Not really a kpop fan but I do really like New Jeans alot. I believe they're called New Jeans because they said jeans are a classic piece of wardrobe, and so they want to be a group that will be around and relevant like denim jeans are (don't quote me on it, but it's something along those lines, I think they're manager said something like that)

Love the reaction man! The reason I've heard that they named the group 'Newjeans' is that they're going for a timeless feel in their music. So like jeans, which have been a staple of fashion for forever, they also want the music to have that affect. Since jeans are classic, the music also has that classic RnB type feel to it, but with a new modern twist, hence the "New" in Newjeans

I feel you on the way a dance 'feels' with the music. I think some artists get so caught up in looking cool and doing intricate and difficult moves that it stops really being 'dance' and becomes more of a workout routine hahaha. But this dance is so fresh and bouncy and fun, which fits the music and the girls themselves really well. They are great performers so I'm sure you'll love seein all their stuff.

ya know as newer songs come out in kpop even with the older bands the choreo becomes less repetitive throughout the song and its so nice, even each instance of a chorus has minor changes

it was so funny that you called out the harlem shake by the first beat. lol you made a great point that they look like their are just dancing and not doing a choreo. Yes it's simple but it's the timing that need to keep on point.

The choreographer for New Jeans is Black.Q. He is also a performance director and a member of a genderless dance crew called EO-DDAE. He's choreographed all of New Jeans dances thus far and is now nicknamed as "New Jeans's father" in Korea! The members of New Jeans are really young, the youngest being 14 and the oldest 18 so Black.Q made it a point to have really clean, fresh, and young chreo that both fit their energy and their current skill set so the dance vibes are just right.
