In my opinion it's not even exaggerate to say GF super heavily rely on the ground work and real time feedback, where basically all their charisma come from, the pandemic literally stripped the latter completely and left them alone in the dark. If things were normal I'm sure they would excel on every public live stage with their current level, the skills, the passion, the teamwork. It could be a very big year but reality went the otherwise. Anyway it doesn't matter anymore, it wasn't even the first or last major difficulty they have faced, all we can is just to keep supporting and cheer at our best when the time is coming. Well, who would have ever thought a foreign man(but a Buddy since 2016-17) like me at his early 40s, who only cares about job, living, and gaming, preferring instrumental/metal music, utterly got destroyed by an online concert(supposed not that serious as a real one) from an underappreciated kpop idol girl group?
Of all of GFriend's songs, "Apple" took the longest to grow on me. When it first came out, I didn't really care for it too much because it was so much different from their signature sound. It has started to grow on me, but it still hasn't knocked "Time For the Moon Night", "Sunrise", and "Crossroads" off the top of my "Favorite GFriend Songs" list. I just love those soaring strings.
