Speaking of background dancers, even though here they literally are as you said like shadows in the background; another reason to love Stray Kids is how respectful they are. They asked for us to call other dances just "dancers" or "performers" instead of "background/backup dancers" in order to show that we value thier work, that they are just as important to the whole thing as stray kids themselves. And i think it's very nice.

I gotta say, man, I really really appreciate all your reactions and analysis. I love the details you guys point out. I'm not a dancer, so it's really cool when you teach us those things. Another suggestion for Stray Kids is Levanter, as a lot of people already said. It's a beautiful song, very nice choreography. But I'd like to suggest another artist too: Taemin. He's part of two groups, Shinee and SuperM, but his solo work is truly another level. He's very dancing-oriented, so the choreos are amazing, full of details, and he also adds some little and smooth moves that make all the difference. From him, my favorite song and performance is IDEA. I think you would really like it! :) Much love!

Korea's worth ethic is on another level man. The massive amount of people required to film these videos is crazy and not only that, but they don't go home! Everybody's there for 48hrs straight, no sleep, and they hire food trucks to keep them fed. It's a lot of work but it sure pays off.

Some more info from my very limited knowledge of kpop & Stray Kids: The groups are part of a big label [Stray Kids are with JYP], who takes care of a lot of things. So costumes, locations, camerawork, etc, are [mostly] managed by the big company. It seems to be pretty standard for groups to have multiple videos for their songs. I do think this is because the dances are the centre point of kpop, though the music video also likes to show the individuals and their appeal for a bigger audience. That's why usually songs have MV's and either a performance video or dance practice videos. Besides that, the big company hires professionals [or they have professionals within their company] to make sure the camera work and everything is perfect, because otherwise it will not stand out versus all the competitors. Kpop is big. It's also insane how much they practice their dances, they have full work days [9-5] where they dance and sing [and other idol things]. In older videos and vlogs from Stray Kids, it showed them practicing their necessary parts and then working overtime to come up with new song melodies. Especially Bang Chan [the leader of the group] would go HOME from the studio [so not even to sleep yet] at 5 AM. Their dances are clean because they practice them so much, because they also perform them on a lot of different stages on different programs [live]. They HAVE to be clean, because the world of Kpop is very, very critical. There are also 'fancams' of performances to focus on individuals and when fans asked Bang Chan to watch some of his own, he told them he didn't want to because it's so embarassing. Why? Because you can see all the mistakes up close. He thinks he's not good enough yet, so he told his fans [in a joking manner] to not watch them either. Kpop is literally the epitome of perfection. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to share. I just think Stray Kids are incredibly impressive and they work really hard. They really try to make thier music their own [with the choreo and music videos] and influence whatever they can. I'm not sure how much they can influence the music video shots and such, but they fit the music well and I think we have them and their company to thank for that.

Everything Stray Kids do, they do well. That's why STAY's (the name of their fandom) are STAY's.

Their stage presence is no joke I went to their concert in Miami 2020 THAT SHIT WAS AMAZING

Well especially for the fact that it was live/impossible to edit post production, all the “HOLY SMACK!!! WHAT DID I JUST SEE I NEED TO LOOK AT THAT AGAIN??!!!!!!! was the “Road to Kingdom” performances for me. They were pretty quick to notice the unique setup of their stage & the fact that there was no audience (due to covid) opened up new/previously non existent possibilities for the cameras too.

Hey Don & James, don’t worry bout the stutter man, appreciate every single thought y’all shared and the time taken out to do so! Thank u for showing stray kids so much love! Keep inviting James back, love the insight he gives! Kpop in general, not just skz as much as I wish to give their efforts 120% credit cause they’re my favs, really does go over the top with even 4/5 different dance practice versions for a single song! Some idol groups are signed under bigger entertainment companies while others are under smaller ones so they do have varying resources for these kinda content as well! So it isn’t coordinated just by the idols themselves, but still the talent and effort required to do the insane number of takes/practice to perfect a performance is worth commending regardless. Other skz dance practices that might be interesting for you guys is Easy for their swag dance moves, TA for how they used a towel in the choreo or Miroh for the incorporation of the Haka dance (a tribal war dance from New Zealand) & Leventar for amazing imagery!

check out district 9 and double knot dance practice. It is one of the hardest choreo in kpop especially district 9 knowing it is their debut song. Skz as a rookie group that time killed up an intense rap, vocals and hard choreo just imagine how powerful it is happening especially performing it live🙈

If I may, actually some songs of Stray Kids have even more different video versions. They have official MV, performance MV, Dance Practice, Close Up version, Love-Stay (cutesy) Dance Practice version, Relay Dance Version (cute too). So yes, we Stays are spoiled fandom hehe! That's one of the reason why we Love them so much! They put so much effort and love to us!

Also, if you want really really REALLY synchronised, please react to Seventeen - another KPOP group, there’s 13 members in Seventeen. Start off with either Home Run or Left and Right. You’ll find that nowadays all KPOP artists do dance practice videos for almost all their songs, so you can watch both the MV and the dance practice all at once 😉 😁

One of the most amazing things about KPOP is that the performance is so much more than just vocals or a pretty music video, they really value and treasure their choreography. Almost all bands will upload dance practices + the original music video, and if the dance is particularly choreo-heavy, even performance videos such as this one. On top that, they also perform these choreos live often 3x a week during their entire promotional period. It is honestly one of the best parts about being a KPOP fan! Please react to more Stray Kids - double knot and levanter are particularly beautiful! Also, please check out more ATEEZ! They are insanely talented choreography wise, and also post dance practices + performance videos. In particular, HALA HALA (their main killer!), Wonderland, Inception, and Horizon (though Horizon only has concert footage + dance practice) are amazingly intense choreographies.

(It's Felix) For real, it was delightful to see your analysis of their choreo. For a very different vibe, you should check out their Awkward Silence dance practice video! It's one of the funniest and really creative.

A lot of groups do MVs, performance videos, and dance practices. Or multiple versions of dance practices. Or multiple kinds of MVs. Kpop music, Korean/Japanese/Chinese music as a whole really go above and beyond when it comes to the work and effort they put into what they do. BTS makes art pieces, for example. They have many music videos that could be films or works of art. Many groups have backstories, themes or plots that run through their music videos or through just an arc of their videos. Ateez have a pirate/suicide squad thing happening. I can think of at least three vampire groups. Two groups with magic. Two groups of people from outer space. Time travelers...several of those. One group that debuted this year actually debuted with a two hour long sci-fi movie explaining their origins. Kpop goes all in.

He does have one of the deepest voices in k-pop but he can also switch to high pitched and sing in a different range. All these guys in this group are multi talented. They can all rap, dance and have amazing vocals. But Felix has the most vocal duality in the group. Love to see your reaction to the newest m/v Fireworks I am the one by the group Ateez. This group is known for their amazing dancing and are friends with Stray Kids. The choro in the Fireworks m/v is intense as the song. Pure Fire. Also District 9 and Hellelevator by Stray kids. And Kang Daniel Who you are, also Paranoia. (you will be blown away by Paranoia, just a scary different vibe but so good) There is also practice dances for his m/v's He is a Solo Artist. Also Taemin is the best solo artist and dance. He is called the Michael Jackson of k-pop. Start with Danger by Taemin first, then watch Move m/v, then Criminal it will amaze you in the difference and styles of dance.

O grupo Stray Kids veio para desmistificar os grupos de K-pop, eles são todos diferentes, desde as músicas, danças, ritmos e letras. Eles são multifuncionais, na prática fazem de tudo. Para ser ter uma idéia não é comum um grupo que compõe as próprias letras das músicas. Adorei a reação de vocês ao vídeo da prática de dança, ela está mais complexa que MV. No show eles arrasam! Thanks for your honest reactions. I recommend you the performance video to Double knot (English version). It's one of the best of their choreos. And you definitely should check out Taemin (the best dancer in K-pop for me). Some call him Michael Jackson of K-pop. His "Idea" is great. :)
