What a different vibe from these guests hosts than last weeks. Last week the comments were very positive. I didn't like Janel at first but love her now. Totally talented and confident. I loved that number and thought it was one of the most exciting dances ever. Week three, it maybe should have gotten one ten. Thought Bethany did her best dance last night. I really believe that the producers wanted to give the "singing in the rain" dance a perfect score in order to make it "iconic". It wasn't.
In reference to Lea and Artem's dance, I've been following Artem's work since he started strictly come dancing in the UK in 2010 and you guys are right that Lea has so much potential and theres so much more she will learn because Artem is a Fantastic choreographer and dancer. He is strict and precise but it's only because he knows what his celeb is capable of. LEA AND ARTEM MUST BE IN THE FINALE!!!
I so look forward to this show every week. Kristyn and Suri are always great and I love that Jake is back to bring another perspective to the panel. It was nice to see Toni Basil join you as a guest once again - she is a fun presence and isn't afraid to say exactly what she thinks. I also thought Serge did a great job the past two weeks. Just a "note" for you all. I appreciate Anna's comments. As a former pro on DWTS she brings a unique expertise. But - she tends to drag out her thoughts way too long - and it takes away from the time that others have to speak. I end up being frustrated that she won't stop talking because I want to hear from everyone else too. If she could shorten her comments up a bit, IMO the show would be even better.
JAKE!!!!!! I've been doing the countdown this week for your return. ( you look incredible BTW ). I'm so glad you all agreed that the two perfect 40's were over scored. My jaw hit the floor they got them. All I could think of was Len's head exploding when he found out. I'm so proud of Tommy and like Anna said his Tango was my favorite of the night too. They have the Jive next week so I'm really scared for them.
I actually agree with toni. I didn't expect much from Antonio , and therefore, have been pleasantly surprised with his character. And He seems much nicer than I would have assumed
Lovely episode... with the lovely Toni Basil. Seems a complete 180 from last episode, but it's still great. And I completely agree with everything that's been said.
maybe it wasn't worth the 10s but I still think Bethany's dance was much more entertaining than Janel's. she's so annoying even when she dances with all the fake face expressions as well as her fake romance with Val.
I really hate to say this, but sometimes getting a perfect score that early is more of a curse than a blessing. I love Bethany & Janel, but giving them perfect scores doesn't provide room for improvement. And that can hurt them very badly in the long run. Something else I've noticed, I could be wrong but, as far as I can remember...the person with the first perfect score never wins. I'm trying to think back, correct me if I'm wrong...but I just thought I'd mention it. Its probably a coincidence, but at the end of the day, they both brought great performances. Which is really what this show is all about. Great AfterShow guys!
I know with Witney and Alfonso they got high scores but at least they know what to work on and have somewhere to go when you get all 10s you have to stay on that level because the only other way is down
Loved this episode! The one thing I really didn't like is the discredit that Bethany is getting for being a "webstar" from Tony. I love Bethany but she's not necessarily one of my favorites this season but you can't discredit the platform she's built (during her teen years) and the success she's had from it. Anyways, I'm so excited Jake is back, he brings such a positive and unique energy, I love it :)
Wow, BIG DISS to Bethany and how she danced a pretty dang good routine seeing as how shes's got a BROKEN BONE IN HER ANKLE! Derek would've probably given her more challenging choreography had it not been for her ankle injury. None of the other couples are plagued with a broken bone that has to be factored into how the Pro choreographs the routine. Glad these people aren't on the judging panel. I didn't notice the half second behind at ALL..NITPICK MUCH???
So you see OTHER celebrities also have injuries, They just did not Announce it by as Toni said accentuating it with black tape instead of skin toned tape.

You got a beef with them, take it up over there. maureen currie Bethany has a broken foot, more than an injured toe. Bethany has been injured since week one. ***** and as *i* said, there is likely NOT a SKIN TONED ankle/foot brace strong enough to give Bethany's foot the support it needs, after all, it is indeed BROKEN! Reading comphrension, it's a good thing! Toni was pretty rude to bring that up 5 times! They don't really make skin toned ankle braces from what I've seen and I would know, I'm a Registered Nurse, hence my user name ;)
Yaaaaay Jake is back!! Loved his input, as always. I really loved Bethany and Derek's routine. I thought Bethany did a great job and I felt like this week was a great learning week for her. It seemed like Derek was so stressed that he didn't have the time to baby her - so she was forced to step up in terms of learning the choreo and executing the performance to the maximum of her ability. I think that accelerated growth is going to help her in the coming weeks. Sadie looked AMAZING sometimes when they were in hold. It seemed like she got lost a few times, but she picked it up quickly and I thought the amazing parts were definitely worthy of a higher score. Lea's posture is terrible. Her shoulders were all I could look at during her jive, and I'm kinda disappointed that the judges didn't point it out earlier so it didn't taint this weeks dance as well. I have no problem with Kevin Hart giving the oldies high scores. It's all in good fun (especially when they were quite good!). Letting them achieve a high score dream in a week when Len isn't there.... I think it's nice :) I wish they'd keep doing results shows. I love the additional bts footage and extra pro dances. People being in jeopardy and then eliminated during performance shows is jarring. And maybe if they cut down on the "The next couple to be called safe is.............." time, then they wouldn't have to awkwardly cut people off in interviews, or skip judges for the sake of time. It's stupid and frustrating.
***** Yeah, I'm kinda on the fence with it...I enjoy it, but I'd rather longer rehearsal packages or dances than a 4th judge taking up time every week coughGetRidOfCAcough. I do think that since there are 3 proper judges, the guest judge's scores shouldn't count towards eliminations. It's fun to have them giving away crazy scores just for the sake of it, but if somebody good goes home next week as a result of Kevin's 10s... that would be bad :s
It really bothers me that Allison and Jonathan's partnership has literally been all about Allison. Even in this weeks after buzz all they evaluate is Allison! He has such great potential, and I think she's holding him back. Kill me but I don't think she should return as a pro
I agree. I feel like Jonathan could flourish under someone like Sharna or Cheryl and instead he's largely ignored and everyone is talking about Allison.
Valerie Williams I think you're wrong. Allison is a great dancer. Why do you think she doesn't have what it takes? Maybe she should've done a season in the troupe first but the producers decided not to go that route. I think she is doing better than Lindsay Arnold did with Victor in S17 PLUS she is really good friends with Derek and I am sure Derek is giving her pointers after her week 2 fiasco.
Janel gets criticized, but I absolutely love her. I think her energy is amazing. She is bright, confident, beautiful and an amazing talent. I love the way she rounds out the cast this year.
***** Dancing in Hairspray (a la Ricki Lake) 20some years prior to DWTS is hardly experience. Same with Jennifer Grey, starring in Dirty Dancing 23 years before being on the show. Janel's experience is MUCH MUCH MORE recent than that..same with Danica McKellar and Zendaya. But because it's DEREK we're talking about...his haters cry FOUL!
maureen currie Can't stand her. Didn't know who she was.Don't watch Pretty Little Liars (because I'm not a teenager or a young 20-something) but she comes across as a mean girl and I am NOT liking how the show keeps pushing a showmance between her and Val, much like Maks and Meryl last season.
To each there own. She is very well liked. Janel did her role of Cosette in Les Mis when she was 7. There was not dancing. She did another role of Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird as a child. She has never danced on broadway. I'm no teenager but I think she's great.
Great to have Jake back on DWTS this season. I enjoyed this weeks show and there was some good routines but, I feel the scoring was far too inflated on many of the dances and was almost irelevant. I appreciated that commemts wise Juliane did try keep things technical. In relation to the 4x10 dances I liked them but neither of them blew me away. For Janel/Val I loved it as a piece but I was expecting more and with the staging it became more of a Broadway piece almost as you'd see on So You Think. And for Derek/Brittany I was let down, although as always I loved what Derek did I almost wish this could've been a pros number as I felt it was perfect for showcasing Derek. I think she understood the significance it had for Derek but just wasn't able to really bring the 'Gene Kelly' flare needed for a number of its type. I cant not talk about Tommy Chong he is killing it for me and I cant wait for his routines every week, I just want to see him do a proper ballroom routine, as he's had latin since ghe first week.
i miss serge lol!! i am surprisingly loving this season who knew tommy had moves!!! I am nervous for the surprise elimination kristyn talks about early on i am keeping my fingers very tightly crossed for leah (although we want artem back on strictly he is def missed, such a good pro) i love jakes love for witney, ever since sytycd she is such a star and i think doing a few years in the troupe rather than straight in as pro as done her so much good! she seems to know exactly what shes doing and I am looooving her choreography!
I think if you are gonna be a fan a DWTS you just have to accept that the scores hardly reflect on what was danced. The 10s were way to much from the regular judges I could see 10s from Kevin because he was there for fun. I think it was really awful that Derek and Bethany got all 10s when you watch the dance and the judges gave them praise that was not true. Also hoping Lea doesn't get lost in the middle. It would be a shame to lose her week 5 or 6. Loving the show this year.
After watching the show this week I finally reached the decision to watch DWTS on RU-vid for the dance partners I like and to listen to AfterBuzz for the recap from now until the finale is on (which I may also bypass depending on who makes it to the finals). I had already predicted Derek's and yes Derek's not Bethany & Derek's score before they ever got on the dance floor. The hype was there it was played up to the nines to make sure that everyone knew how important this was to "Derek". Then throw in the coverage of Gene Kelly's widow coming personally to the studio and giving Derek the portrait. Well where was all the hoopla for George Chakiris (Bernardo WSS) someone posted that he was in the audience. I think WSS is just as iconic as DITR but yet no fuss was made about him. I also thought the judges were giving such high scores to justify and maintain a certain level of shoulder shrug in an "oh everyone got scored high tonight" way so there would be no complaining about giving out UNDESERVED perfect scores in week 3. If those 2 dances this early on equal 10s than Alfonso should have gotten 10s on the premiere episode. Here is my own conspiracy theory when it comes to Sadie and Alfonso but more so Alfonso they are giving him crappy songs that do not go with the style of dance he has to perform. I know the show is good for doing this but damn its almost like they are trying to sabotage him. Yet he and Witney continue to produce high energy, heavy content, very entertaining dance numbers and not get rewarded, his dance last week was easily up there in the 9s across the board area IMO and so was his week 3 dance. The judges are holding him to a much higher standard pretty much like they did with Amber and Corbin in S17, yet rewarding the others who haven't obtained his level. I still remember CAI telling Amber "you set the bar so high for yourself" okay so if her bar is high, what was CAI doing judging the others at a lower bar because they didn't perform as well as Amber did. I feel this is what's happening to Sadie and also to Alfonso. I also think Sadie was underscored just like Bethany and Janel were overscored. Also, I hope CAI is through discussing Sadie's age, hell the show knew how old she was when they invited her to be a part of it. Let it go, Mark is handling it perfectly again IMO. I also know this happens every season or at least every season I've watched so far. But now its to a point were I can predict a certain pro's score before he even gets on the floor is letting me know its time to bail on the live presentation (2 hours of my life I can do something productive with). So AfterBuzz great show Toni kept it real and I think her statements and observations were on point. Great to have Jake back. So see you guys next week. Buzz you later! :)
Lovely sentiments! Agreed with Sadie and Alfonso being underscored. For their first ballroom dances they were not given any second notices because of the more iconic status of the jazz dances.
The show's got to have an arc--I'd be surprised if Alfonso and Sadie weren't in the final, thus they're being relegated to the middle right now. They gave Val and Derek the spotlight this week. Going on comments all over the internet, Janel and Bethany don't seem to be connecting with the core audience and could be out soon.
jorettadrive I agree that the show always has to give a celeb an "arc" and I think they are going to slowly build Alfonso and Sadie back up now. I still think either Janel or Bethany will make the finals but not both...just not sure which one it will be yet.
Ann Mack Well guess what? Next week is My Most Memorable year and Bethany is dancing a Rumba, a romantic dance. She's 18. I predict a drop in scores..7's perhaps?OTOH, Alfonso is dancing Jazz to It's Not Unusual by Tom Jones and plans on doing The Carlton...I predict a Perfect 40!Alfonso is a great dancer, no question there. Big ringer too! I plan on voting for Bethany and Derek until the end. If by SOME chance Bethany doesn't make the finals....all my votes will go to Alfonso!
Don't hate me, but I just would like to see Derek fail one season. He's been always in the final 3. Don't get me wrong, LOVE him to death though! Having said/wanted that, I'm so proud of Witney this season!! She's doing great! My absolute FAVE is Janel, she's killin' it week after week. Other faves Jonathan and Sadie. Can't wait to see their most important year in their lives and the mixup... ohhh, that last one will be very interesting!!
It was a good night, even if I was confused by the show's format. I was also confused by Kevin Hart but at least he made me laugh. I'm sorry but both jazz routines were overscored. They were awesome but no way they deserved perfect scores on week 3 (!), maybe a 10 or two at most. And Alfonso and Witney were underscored, Sadie and Mark too especially when you compare to how other were scored (like Tommy/ Peta and Betsey/Tony for example). Also I'm so excited for the Carlton dance!!!!! And yay Jake is back!
I agree - Alfonso & Witney and Sadie & Mark were completely underscored compared to the other dances. They both did great this week. I think Jonathan was overscored too.
I really enjoyed Kevin Hart. He was funny but also added something more. His comment about Lea really seeming to enjoy herself on the dance floor was something I'd noticed and liked too. And I enjoyed that he got out there and danced and seemed to like dance in general, and that he threw high scores to two of my favorite contestants.
Anyone else pulling for Tommy in the finals? I would love to see him make it all the way through. Just not sure if he can sustain the scores until the end (and the stamina). I feel like I am supposed to like Janel more than I do considering she's capable and looks good with Val..just not feeling it.
Valerie Williams Funny you should say that because I feel like there aren't a lot of celebrities this season that have the whole package. Either they have good technique/dancing with not so great personalities or personality but not so great technique/dancing. Alfonso I think has it that I've noticed. But its still early in the competition so we could see someone break out and rise to the top
I loved both the Jazz routines. Val and Derek create amazing spectacles each time they dance. I do have to agree that I thought Janel's was a little messy and overall I Bethany's was my favourite. That being said 9s would have worked for both dances with maybe some 10s, they really had nowhere to go to with some of the other scores given out. With the dance not being about Bethany that's the producers call for how they wanted to work the package but I understood why the did it that way because since Singin in the Rain is my favourite movie ever I understood why Derek was freaking out. It would have been better to give them these types of dances later in the competition.
Great having Jake back and always love having Toni on the show! Unfortunately the judging and scoring is never going to be fair. I don't envy them in a way because it really is a balancing act between taking into consideration the individual celebs skill set, their improvement, their performance and then how the rest of the cast is performing. Was Tommy's AT, for example, at the same level as something we'll see from Alfonso? No, of course not, but for Tommy it was great! BUT that doesn't mean I don't think they are nitpicking someone like Alfonso like crazy while they're throwing 10s around for performances that I didn't think deserved it.
Love After Buzz and so agree with all the comments that were made this week. I'm with Suri I am going to really miss Randy and thought he got the short end of the stick by being first two weeks in a row and especially this week right after being told he was in jeopardy. So unfair to have him go home this week when no one was really sure how the voting was going to work. It should have been a week that no one went home. I think a lot of people didn't know that they were going back to just the one night format and didn't get a chance to vote for him. Also, want to welcome Jake back - missed him so much and it was great to have him back on the panel.
I am really tired of hearing Suri say she does not connect with Bethany. What more does she want from this girl. Bethany has a great personality and it shines through in all her interviews. What is the issue. They have done nothing but slam her for 3 weeks.

I think that they need to take jazz out of the show. I mean how can you even compare Janel and Bethany's dance to say Sadie's? Sadie had a lot more technique to learn which she handled beautifully. I'm not saying that jazz is easy, but there are no rules. It feels like not everyone is on an even playing field.
I know I was supposed to be blown away by Janel and Bethany's routines but I just wasn't. Week 3 is WAY too early for anyone to be getting a perfect score. I also think it's ironic how it was VAL and DEREK'S routines that got the perfect scores and how their partners keep getting assigned the same styles of dance each week...be more subtle producers about trying to amp up the rivalry. The thing is I really don't connect to either Janel or Bethany. I think Bethany I feel a little bit more for because of her past and not having any experience performing and probably being a little shell shocked. Janel I still just think is trying too hard and she and Val seem a little too desperate to me.
Sometimes it is better to get all 8s Witney and Alfonso did beach use you get a high enough score to where you know you are doing well but there still leaves rooms for improvement
Matt Spike Hi Matt - it's hard to explain but I just think Janel mugs for the camera a little too much and is playing a character more than being genuine. That's just my feeling thus far but that could change, it is only week 3. I also think they initially tried to push a showmance week 1 but quickly saw how the audience wasn't buying it. It could be just because there are a lot of likable personalities on the show this season that Janel's confidence is almost off-putting (if that makes sense).
Danielle Leo I don't think they were ever trying to sell a showmance Janel has been very open that she has a longterm boyfriend and he has been very supportive of her. Also isn't it sad that a young lady can't be confident because that is off putting. Confidence is an amazing quality to have. Most people strive to be more confident. I think people should commend her not use that as an excuse for why they don't like someone.
I agree. I kinda feel bad because I love Val and Derek but their partners are so blah to me. Bethany is cute but boring and Janel is an amazing dancer but I don't feel the need to root for her. They had the best dances of the night yet I found Alfonso, Sadie, Tommy, Jonathan and even Betsey and their partners way more interesting. And you're right about the producers. Both couples have a rumba next week...of course.
Toni is a great guest! Marvelous. Not a fan of Bethany at all, and agree with Jake that it's too darn bad Derek didn't have Nichole as a partner. That could have deserved 20's!!!!!!!
I agree! I'm starting to love Janel. Bethany's still an "ehh" for me. Janel maybe deserved like 3 9's and a 10. And Bethany straight 9's (or maybe even slip in an 8 in there).
I disagree slightly with Toni about Lea and Artem. I feel that Lea's training will come through more in ballroom routines like Foxtrot and Waltz because its more elegant. Latin is not her strong suit. I did notice what Carrie-Ann mentioned tonight with Lea's shoulders last week in the Jive too
For everyone posting comments here and on OTHER websites (you know exactly what I'm referring to), everything they said in terms of critiquing the dancing is true. You might not agree, or even find it overtly critical, but you know full well that it only has to do with negative comments about your favorite pro, and celebrity by extension. I don't agree, however, that Bethany isn't a "real star". I didn't know who she was before the show, and I'm still pretty young, but she is just as much of a celebrity as anyone else on the show this season, and more so in some ways. I also wanted to say, the best Jazz will always belong to Charlie White and Sharna Burgess, prop difficulties and all.
Definitely do not think Bethany or Janel deserved 10s, and Allison is getting on my nerves now. Everybody is entitled to an opinion. You might not agree with it but respect the fact that not everybody is going to agree.
Once again I do not think she's ever had broadway experience as a dancer. When she was on broadway as a kid, she only sang and acted as Cosette, but didn't dance at all.
First of all, I really enjoyed the DWTS show week 3, it was fun. Betsey is a doll and I love watching her be so happy with Tony --- who is the best old lady whisperer I've ever seen. Props to him. Liked Allison better simply because Jonathan gave her 100% support. She is still overdancing him though. She needs to remember it should be about him, not her. Tommy and Peta were delightful. Who'd have thunk it?! Liked West Side Story and Val and Janel's dance the best of all, but can agree with all of you that it was a 9's dance. Singing in the Rain and Gene Kelly himself get all tens of course, like West Side Story, but Derek and Bethany's number didn't have much to it. They were less than Val and Janel's dance at 9 and 8's I think. Missed Len's judging! Every season the scores astound me. Kevin has an excuse but what about the rest? Finally, I am also astounded by Suri not totally backing Derek getting all 10's. This is the first time I've seen her judge him as less than perfect! Is her intense, obsessive love for Derek fading : P ??!
Where to start...? I'm gonna agree, it's too early for perfect scores. (I know nothing about dance and I've never been of fan of Jazz but IMO) Janel should have gotten 9's w/ an 8 somewhere in there, it was a good, solid performance w/ a few 'ehh' moments. Derek, on the other hand completely deserved those 10's. His package was good, his choreography and dancing was on point, and the judges seemed to love him, who cares if that dancer w/ him was hurt, HE was great (Bethany deserved 8's w/ a 'pushing through the pain' 9). Sarcasm aside, the unnecessary points they gave to those two should have been given to Alfonso and Sadie, whose scores were a little on the low side considering the other scores of the night. And to sum up the rest of my thoughts for this week, Kevin was great, Allison's over-performing makes me want to apologize to Mark, Karina got screwed over again, and I'm gonna miss Randy. Also, I'm surprised no ones talking about the side competition the producers obviously have going w/ Val and Derek, they've gotten the same dances since day one...
Agree about Alison--seems that people who know her from SYTYCD love her, but just having seen her on this season of DWTS, I find her partner dancing quite annoying--so hectic and frenetic and overbaked. Re Val and Derek--since there's a large contingent of "passionate" (unhinged) Val/Maks vs Derek fans, maybe the producers are trying to add more fuel to the fire.
Last season the producers tried a Meryl/Charlie and a Cody Simpson/Big Time Rush rivalty but no one cared. This season it's Derek vs Val and it's working, their fans are doing the most. I just want to say that I will have a good laugh if they both lose. The outrage will be awesome.
FunkyFuchsia91 While I tend to think that Derek gets a lot of favoritism from the producers and judges and I do like both Chmerkovskiy brothers and I like Janel better than Bethany so far (I didn't know who either was prior to dwts) and am hoping she and Val make the finals over Derek/Bethany, my faves this season are Lea and Artem even though this week wasn't their best. I'm hoping they pull it back together and make it to the finals. I do think the producers are well aware of the Derek vs. Val thing right now though and are playing it to their advantage.
lollypop2414 . There IS no Derek vs Val thing. They get along pretty good and are friends outside of the show. I think You like Janel better than Bethany because you like Val better than Derek. I don't like Janel because I don't like the fact that the show hasn't been forthcoming about all her dance experience. She lists performing on Broadway on her professional resume. Why do you like Lea? Because she's with Artem, who is a friend of Val and Maks too? I don't care for the C-brothers because of their behavior towards Derek and his partners on their Twitter accounts. It was pretty bad when Zendaya lost to Kellie Pickler in Season 16. Maks and the Dance with Me official Twitter account were Very nasty. Sorry but that's not professional AT ALL! Derek would NEVER do something like that! Yeah a newspaper article took ONE comment out of context when his book was first published and he apologized to Maks for it. I've read the book and what was quoted in that article is not what he said at ALL. Val and Maks have never publicly apologized for the many times they've dissed Derek. Maks even did it on live TV in a backhanded way during S17. He was the ONLY judge who gave Amber a 9 for her Jazz routine to Locked out of Heaven when EVERYONE ELSE gave her a 10. In the next dance, he begrudgingly gave her a 10 and wouldn't even announce the score!! RUDE! If Derek gets favoritism from the producers, it's because he's EARNED it!
kaknurse I didn't say that Derek and Val don't get along. I think they do. I'm saying it's Derek vs. Val as far as their fans go. The producers aren't dumb. They know that and they're using it to their advantage. I like both Derek and Val as far as their dancing goes. I think they're the best two male pros on the show. I do think Derek gets the most favoritism though and I don't care for some of his fans. I like Lea because I'm a fan of her acting and because I like the chemistry she has with Artem. It has nothing to do with who Artem is friends with. Period. I'm not a teenage girl whose going to get wrapped up in how cute a pro is or isn't or who is friends with who. Each year I vote for the celeb I like the most on the dance floor. I voted for Derek and Nicole, Julianne and Apollo, Cheryl and Drew L., Maks and Meryl, etc. This year I like the chemistry that Lea and Artem have and I also like Alfonso and Witney and Sadie and Mark a lot as well as Janel and Val. I've said that I liked Bethany and Derek's dance this week after not caring for their first two dances. It seems to me you're the one with the grudge. You don't like Maks or Val so you're trying to start arguments with me. I'm sorry you feel that way about them. I didn't watch the season when Kellie won so I can't comment on that one. I'm just over the Houghs and the fact that the producers kiss their asses, even if I do enjoy Derek as a dancer. Other pros get treated like dirt because of it (poor Sharna who imo is the best female dancer and choreographer on the show only got put on as a pro this season after fans complained because Derek got Allison on who has no ballroom experience at all and then the producers didn't even tell Sharna she had no job until the day they announced who the pros would be).
Comparing the two dances, I do think Janel had a better dace and definitely did more dancing (and acting) than Bethany did. (considering that they had to change the whole dance just days before) But, I still think they didn't deserve those scores.
I am so excited Kristyn booked Toni this week too cause of the fact that Kevin Hart was the guest judge. I couldnt watch this episode. He couldnt judge a good competition if his life depending on it. I felt like Randy and Karina got screwed cause of Kevin Hart as the guest judge. I think the producers were desperate with Len taking off this week. Even though Mandy was at New Orleans, the guest choregraphers did a good job with the hand that they were dealt. I felt like Kristen Anna Jake Suri and Toni did a BETTER damn job of judging this episode than Kevin. (Sorry for swearing but he flat out sucked whoever hired him along with Juliette as the fourth judge should be fired. I think they really want Derek to win this cycle, why else did they judge him better but diss Bethany? I think the producers didnt know what to do cause they are used to have a results show but ABC got rid of it for cycle 18 but returned cause Agents of Shield didnt debut until the end of episode 2s results show.
I agree with you guys that the scores this week were too high this week... percfect scores on third week does not give them room for improvement even if the dances were perfect, which they were not. I'm sorry to say this because I'm a big fan of Val's coreograohy but this week It was... boring? I don't know what it was but when I saw them dancing I just didn't connect... Sorry... As for Bethany she IS good but she still has a lot more to achive before she gets a perfect score. Besides I think this could really backfire for both couples because now EVERYONE expects perfects dances and keeping up with those scores is hard and if can't pull that off it will come across as if they're not trying as hard as they can and it could afect the scores.
I agree! I'm starting to love Janel. Bethany's still an "ehh" for me. Janel maybe deserved like 3 9's and a 10. And Bethany straight 9's (or maybe even slip in an 8 in there).
