This week we see a recent video I filmed in the suburb of Springvale. On a Thursday morning I went down to Greater Dandenong Council to check out the new JJR (JJ Richards) equipment but also the latest Bin roll out that was done in the past year to all residents across the Greater Dandenong Council. I also in fact went down to get the Green-Waste collection as no one has really gone out and gotten it so it was a good opportunity for me to cross it off my list!
After jumping off the train I first found the DAV Truck (Difficult Access Vehicle) doing its Garbage run. After filming that I went deeper into the Green Waste area and after finding a trail of full bins I was in hope that I would find something and I did! After being given the all clear from the driver I was off filming the clean truck. I wasn't expecting to get a big video but I am glad that I got a decent amount of footage.
You may also notice the fresh roll out of bins that is featured in the video, In mid 2014 the new bins began to hit the streets and the old ones were straight out the door. Old Bin colours were the following:
Old Bins:
Fully Nature Green 120L,140L for Garbage
Fully Blue 240L for Recycling
Fully Maroon 240L for Green-Waste
New Bins:
Black body with Red Lids 80L,120L,140L and 240L for Garbage
Black body with Yellow Lids 240L,360L for Recycle
Black body with Lime Green Lids 120L and 240L for Green-Waste
The new roll out of bins was supposed to be done by MASTEC but then SULO some how ended up doing the Roll out! The 240L versions featured the KSB design but personally I wouldn't like to be picking up KSB bins in the wet on Green-Waste as they can easily slip but also break in some cases.
I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did filming it and shout out goes to the friendly driver for letting film!
Cheers.
