I've had most of the variants from this series. IMO the V2 of this & of the "Drive" (the silver one) are the best. The tremolo is worth chasing down. Very low noise. Basically the "Tuna Melt" pedal in a metal enclosure.
This was hyped to be a Timmy Clone (you know this). The idea was being able to buy one without being on a waiting list or paying through the nose. Apparently that's bad because as you recall the forums s#it all over it. They came out w/ the V2 & it's multiple clipping options. IMO it's "better" than a lot of "boutique" stuff as a result. When I use it, I have all the clipping set to full on. /// Fast forward to a few years ago & EHX came out w/ The Crayon. They don't seem to get the same grief. /// Fast forward to now & you can buy a licensed one from MXR/Dunlop. I have this, so I don't need one. I did order a Duke of Tone though. Even then, Prince of Tone is a Bluesbreaker Clone. Apparently it's only "unethical" to put out an affordable, well built clone. /// All around great video concept. Love all of these.
