I love how Hajime doesn't even yell "Allow me to cut through those words!" but instead its just "Tch...!" since he doesn't want to do this as much as the others don't, but knows there's no other choice.
And the gameplay emphasises that by not giving you the usual ♾️ cuts instead it's 20 each round. So you gotta wait and then strike when listening to Sonia's cries.
Chiaki wasn't even a traitor. She was there as an observer. She existed in their favor, not against them. nagito forcing her to kill him is what makes him the worst dp character ever.
I always found it funny how Sonia gave more fucks with greater emotion of Chiaki being a traitor than Gundham (her love interest) and Nekomaru essentially committing suicide and sacrificing himself to save everyone
Here is my theory (from my research) : Sonia's character arc was all about friendship. She masked her feelings and emotions for more than half of the game. When Gundham got executed, she was deeply affected the most out of the remaining cast but she manages to use it as a motive to continue living on. Finally,in chapter 5, when Chiaki, who was soon to be executed as a traitor, Sonia finally had a breakdown because she doesn't want to lose her friends and see them die anymore where we see Sonia finally fighting for her friends, showing her true emotions. In chapter 6, she also said that she doesn't want to forget her friends and their wonderful memories that they've made. So, her relationship with Gundham happened all because of Sonia's character arc 'Friendship/Princess vs Person' where Gundham is a loner and he thinks of himself as an intellectual/super human and look down upon others. Sonia and Gundham has similar traits and personality as well as backstories if you look closely into it(They are both lonely with no friends in their life) which is why their relationship blooms while both undergoes similar character arc.
i think she pretty outright states that she is tired of doubting people, its not that she cares more about chiaki, just that all of the other losses have been wearing her down and this is her finally confronting it
The end of the rebuttal when Hajime hardly has the fight left in him to even say that Sonia was wrong, really shows how much he doesn’t want to accuse Chiaki of being responsible for this. Just like the player, he wants to blame no one but Nagito, but Monokuma refuses to let this trial end without punishing someone since he claimed the thrown poison grenade was the true C.o.D., and so Hajime has to accuse someone he really cared about.
@@fenius4525 I just found her incredibly flat compared to Sonia. The martyr schtick was so much better on Kaito and Ouma. Being a robot that gains a heart has to be incredibly well-written, because otherwise you're mostly just giving a lot of focus to a character template.
@@downbeatdialga1341 Japanese Nagito is soft spoken, you can feel that he really means what he says, even when he says something that sounds sarcastic or condescending. The way he speaks softly and like he's out of air has a really big impact on how his words are presented. English Nagito loses all of that and traids it for a sarcastic raspy voice. Compare the mental breakdown in trail1, in Japanese he sounds more nervous distressed and out of breath, he speaks softly and lowers his voice , like he's admiring his classmates from afar and finding it beatiful the way you'd find nature beatiful, you would end his sentence with "..." In English he sounds more involved, his laught is more of an actual laught instead of a breakdown nervous laught, he sounds more involved with what's happening like some crazy fanboy, his tone is passionate and he raises his voice, you'd end his sentence with "!!" Big example on how it's different is the scene where he asks Hajime to feed him, in Japanese he actually sounds confused it's more of a "aren't you gonna feed me????? I can't feed myself Im wearing handcuffs🤨???" in English he sounds like he's trying to seduce Hajime, like a "aren't you gonna feed me😏 you know~ since my hands are all tied up~ 😏" one is a legitimately confused guy who's socially unaware and says things litteraly, the other sounds like a guy trying to get in his friend's pants Idk if it was on purpose but English Nagito feels like they were trying to make him less complex and more easy to be hated or afraid of, the change in dialogue, like they wanted to turn him into a full antagonist that you want to stay away from, even tho Hajime litteraly goes "hey Nagito..." whenever he is stuck in a trail (including the 4th one). Nagito is not an antagonist, he is a character foil to Hajime, but the English dub seems to want to ignore that
It wasn't monomi telling chiaki about the bombs that blew her cover it was the fact in monomi note book she had some info only chiaki and hajima knew no one else on the island did so the only way she could have known that was chiaki told her that into
That actually makes a lot of sense. It wouldn't be easy for Hajime to argue with Sonia here, because he doesn't want to condemn chiaki to death just as much as she does.
This whole trial was bs nagitos death should have been ruled as a suicide playing the last few chapters without chiaki made everything feel lonely and quiet i cried so mucg 😭
Fr. In the real world it would've 100% been ruled a suicide. Nagito was the direct cause of everything that could've killed him, whether it was the spear, fire, or poison. This makes sense for monokuma to not care since he wants them to suffer. It's more entertaining for him to blame chiaki and not nagito.
