Huge thanks to Ridge for sending me a dope wallet and supporting the channel! Here’s the site if you want to check them out! > ridge.com/CHADNATION, use code 'CHADNATION'! By the way V3 is not part of the video because it isn’t part of the Hope’s Peak High Saga.
But it's the game that wraps it all up,and it makes you feel despair because at the end they discover that they are in a fictiol world, that they are killing for no true reason
@@littlekingbaku5092 I honestly still don't believe that and think that Tsumugi was lying there but I know it's a very controversial thing the conclusion of V3
To me, I think the main theme of Danganronpa can be best summed up in Monomi's speech after the fifth trial. "There's no need to be a hero. You don't have to force yourself just to make people acknowledge you. When you do that, you end up blaming yourself, blaming other people... and feeling jealous of everyone... But still, it doesn't have to be like that. Even if people don't acknowledge you, you just have to be someone you can be proud of! Cuz... you yourself are your biggest supporter! If you can learn to love yourself, that love will continue to support you for the rest of your life. Love, love... "
@@abewear2882 Danganronpa always had the lack of actual sense, I mean you got an Ultimate Princess as a talent and 15 Japanese Highschool Students and One Foreign Student to end the world (pretty silly if you ask me) I think DR was just one project and the Reveal wasn't supposed to continue later on and would have just left the players with their own opinion on the ending but the sequels kinda ruined the story and made it silly for me (I still love the games but they could have made the story better)
@@resarious6225 if Juzo Admitted he was Gay, Junko could have been caught and the Tragedy wouldn't have happened so it's basically all Juzo's Fault for letting her go
I’ve been flowing the danganronpa series since before v3 came out and it’s one of my favorite series. And all the points brought up in this video are exactly why. You also brought up things I didn’t think about while experiencing the series like the logos, ethos and pathos point with Kyoto, togami and Makoto. Great video, I would love to hear your thoughts on v3 as well!
Thanks so much for watching everyone, it really means a lot, and shares are massively appreciated as I don't expect this video to pop as much as it isn't superhero related. Much love!
I have never seen such passion put into a Danganronpa documentary! Yes, documentary, I mean it! I'm glad you brought your friends into that. You really can tell how much love was put into that, remixed music, trial, callbacks. I love it! A little shame you didn't mention V3 and how that twists your mind, but that's okay. The focus was on the concept from Hope's Peak arc and I understand. Dont ever lose hope guys! Sincerely yours Makoto Naegi aka Naegiri trash (^v^)/ PS: Alex stop talking about Spider-man! Jk love ya all! ❤
Wow...actual praise of Danganronpa 3. I'm...shocked. I honestly am. After 4 years of it being either bashed or willingly forgotten by the majority of the fandom, I just kinda accepted it as that one part of the canon that only I legitimately loved. But now I see _this,_ and...I just...feel the most surreal happiness that I've ever felt. It sounds stupid, I know, but it's the only way I can explain it.
I love danganronpa 2, it brought me Nagito Komaeda, who to me is the most likable villain ever, he has a clear backstory and abilities that makes absolute sense tying to his ideals, which he’s ready to do anything for, those ideals in turns contrast that of the main protagonist, challenging him while maintaining a love-hate relationship because deep inside he’s still a nice guy, however, realizing he’s not fit to be protagonist, he becomes a secondary antagonist in hopes that by beating him, the protagonist will gain the strength to beat the real one. I also love that monologue about being the most useless guy in the room when turns out he’s one of the smartest and most dangerous, his alter ego as a servant is just perfect. P/S: thank u browntable for getting my other favorite youtubers to talk about about my favorite series, this is one of the happiest moments of my life
The asohina thing got me dead laughing, the creators got me in tears for a huge week or so. The creators of the anime really had to play with my emotions that way.
It’s more like a hidden spoiler I think. You wouldn’t know that he was talking about Nagito unless you’d actually played the game, you’d assume that he was just playing footage of the characters at that moment, not giving an example.
I thought it was impossible for me to love Danganronpa even more than I already do but this video made my appreciate for it grow to new heights thanks!
I didn't know anything about this anime before this video, but now this makes me just want to go through everything the games and anime have to offer. This sounds incredible!!
Here roughly in order to watch and play, so u would enjoy the right way :) Danganronpa 3 Anime : Despair Arc (EP1-12) Danganronpa 1: Game/Anime whichever u want but the game have more info and much better than the anime ones. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, (game) yeh SDR2 cast is my personal favourite. Danganronpa 3: Hope Arc(EP 1-12) Danganronpa 2.5(optional) :more understanding for both anime and for the last anime Danganronpa 3: Future Arc (should be 1 EP only. My explanation is wack but i hope you understand, 👌 enjoy.
@@-Yu_Tsugami that's a very bad order. Just do the first game, the second game, the spinoff ultra despair girls. Then the anime both arcs together. Then the third game.
@@purplebunnie9590 do u wanna know something bad about Danganronpa? Its the fucking timeline. That's why i arrange it like that. Correction for the hope/future arc, hope for the movie, and future for makoto side.
Seeing people love the Daanganronpa 3 anime brings so much joy to me tbh. I honestly enjoyed watching it when it was airing ans it always kept you on the edge of your seat. The despair arc especially feels both nostalgic and terrifying to watch. The happy moments, the masacre and Chiakis death - all those were done so good yet so tragically. The last aspect made me feel the feels as much as the AssClass finale did.
Oh my gosh,,, thank you for explaining how Ruraka’s whole B-Plot plays into the main themes of the anime. I understood that it had smthn to do with trust, but I just couldn’t see how it all connected. Actually, I just didn’t understand a lot of the anime in the first place, so thank you for explaining it to my small brain!
Man I really almost cried near the end of this video cause every sad thing from both the anime and the second game came flying back to me. Love both this video and the series. Also what about v3?
I remember when I first watched Asahina ‘Die’, I was sad. I didn’t even bother to watch the rest of the anime lmao. But then when I watched it a year later, I was like: “WHY DID YOU TRICK MEEEEEEE”
Great Video. I can understand why you left it out of this video, since it's sorta it's own thing, but what are you're thoughts on Danganronpa V3. It's my personal favorite out of the series and Kaede is my favorite character.
Danganronpa is literally one of my favorite game/anime series of all time it's truly a masterpiece I'm mad at myself for taking this long to get into the fandom though I only just finished the series a few weeks ago
Hello, i just watched the anime few days ago. When i watched Danganronpa 3, i got so confused because new characters, the story got different at first, but i still watch it till the end anyways (both of the arc). Someone told me to watch some gameplays of the game, but i'm just too lazy to do it. After watching this video you made, i finally get to know the whole story of Danganronpa! They way you explain is easy to understand and it's detailed. I enjoyed watching the video, i hope you can make more good contents like this in the future! You earned yourself a sub :D
Filmhub Crossover? Loverboy beating up Monoinu? "Chefs Kiss" Perfect. Relating to visual novels, if you liked Daganronpa, I'd recommend the Fate/Stay Night visual novel- the anime source material. (Specifically Realta Nua, it's revised by Nasu and the ops for each route are animated by Ufotable) Should be an interesting read!
I absolutely LOVED the video, but damn why didn't you mention talents, they're one of the core elements of the game. Talking about how Hajime feels worthless in DR3 is nothing without the context of him being a talentless student in a school for Ultimates
Same here! It of course has its flaws, like any piece of media does. But I truly love this franchise and it offered to me. It just would be disingenuous for me to hate it haha.
As a huge fan of this series, I find this video so perfect. It explains and describes everything so well, props for your writing. Thank you for this little tribute to the series. Ha, I especially love the little mentions you did at 24:28 of a couple of your stand out characters/moments as a fan. I think we all wanted to hate Nagito, but he's just TOO WELL WRITTEN, GODDAMNIT! And don't worry, I adore this series too. Also, great song choices and covers!
If you like this visual novel, I recommend trying out Fate/Stay Night which seems to resemble Danganronpa’s themes. Although it’s never been officially released, you can go to the subreddit and ask the mods to help you download the game. I suggest that you turn on the censored mode for the most part except for the Heaven’s Feel route where it plays into its themes. Or you can just go full degenerate and play all the routes uncensored. If you get all the endings, you unlock Last Episode which is an epilogue to the visual novel
But... But V3?????????? (I love how some discard it like cursed child of harry potter books)........... Also, I fucking love the DR3 anime. I dont care if anyone says otherwise and why the feck did you show me chiaki again????? god dammit!!
V3 isn’t part of the Hopes Peak Saga so I didn’t include it. I’d make a V3 video but this isn’t getting many views. So if u wanna see one, sharing this vid helps a lot!
This is by far one of my favorite series I've ever experienced but I have no idea why it's suddenly so mainstream. This series started so long ago and just now people notice it?
The pure amount of work that you must have put into this is phenomenal. Great video and the game seems quite reminiscent of Fukasaku's Battle Royale film.
I'm questioning whether or not I should watch the anime, but I genuinely need to know. Is the suffering I no doubt will experience worth it? All of my current Danganronpa knowledge comes only from all the games in the series, and I have a lot of emotional attachment to the characters, even the ones that have died in the game. That being said, I still watched the video and spoiled myself the anime a little so I need to ask. Do I even want to know how Aoi and Chiaki even end up like that in the first place? Will the tears be worth it?
I personally think it's a great idea. After all, you've already suffered by playing xD DR3 is a nice anime. I loved it. It has a nice story and it doesnt compleeeeetely ruin you.. As for 2.5, its honestly mostly story, not much. But still cool. That's just my opinion tho.
Appreciate the input. I might just start it. But that statement about not completely ruining me, that gives me more anxiety than all the class trials combined. Like how bad is my heart going to break? Chiaki is my personal favorite, and I don't want to bear the thought of how she dies again
@@michaelkennedy9073 you will suffer a bit with Chiaki, that's true. But her is like..the most pain out of the anime you might get...or maybe one more. But I think it's worth it. You'll never know after all. xD
Such a good video!! If you enjoyed Danganronpa I think you would really enjoy the Zero Escape series. I would love to see an analysis of that from you!
This video was mostly talking about the Hope’s Peak Saga, not V3. V3 is kinda a stand-alone game that doesn’t directly tie into the plot of the other two games
I love that you talk about the strong atmosphere in the first game, I felt so engaged when I first played that like I was actually part of what was happening. I wish I could experience the series over again!
Ever since I saw this video in the upcoming projects community tab I have been super hyped for it! Danganronpa is one of my favorite game series and easily my favorite visual novel. It feels my heart with joy whenever someone talks fondly of it! Hopefully sometime in the future we get to hear your opinion on the story told at the academy for gifted juveniles!
I can't describe how much I loved this video and the series. Both the games and the anime (which deserves way more love I really liked how you analyzed it) mean the world to me
Why you should play Danganronpa? 1. Nagito's the best thing about Danganronpa (yep, I said it) 2. The menacing 11037 3. Pretty cool whodunnit game except some part.. like that hangmans gambit from dr2's just.. 4. Other characters are also great 5. V3 is great, you guys just mean
@@Browntable right?! I was actually shaking after hear that number again. Also, great video, man. I had no interest watching Danganronpa 3 anime (most of my friend hated it to death) but maybe I can give it a try
This is an Avengers level team-up! I'm so happy seeing a bunch of great RU-vidrs I know come together like this! It's inspiring. Also, HiTop films in this is hilarious. Great video, Mauricio- I guess I'm going to have to play these Danganronpa games now
I feel like the DR3 anime gets way too much hate than it deserves. Sure some of the plot points were like, “what the fuck?” But I’m pretty sure there were a lot more positives than negatives. Sure *his* (not gonna say his name due to spoilers) motive might be not explained properly and confusing, however I think that’s what makes it thrilling. I just hope they do clear up the plot points this year(since they did announce new Danganronpa stuff this year) also I feel like it’s the dub’s fault for most of these complains, a lot of scenes weren’t translated properly, but hey I might be wrong. Also the DR3 ops are 🔥
This will be a long comment, sorry. One thing I love so much about Danganronpa 2 is that technically it was Izuru Kamukura vs Junko on who he would win between Hope (Hajime Hinata) vs Despair (Izuru Kamukura). Since Izuru felt empty because of what was done to him and how he perceived the world, he could easily see Junko Enoshima's point of view (Since she could also predict the future with her mind, and was tired of the "predictable" ( Happy Endings)) and being seduced by "hopelessness" (Cruel Ending). But when Izuru was reunited with Chiaki Nanami (when she was killed in front of him) a "miracle" happened, something that was unpredictable and hopeful, Izuru cried even though Hajime supposedly should have completely disappeared. That made Izuru question hope, and despair, and he decided to use Junko in the future to prove what was best for him. Basically, the beginning of Danganropa 2, when Hajime "meets" Chiaki "for the first time", that was hope winning, because it was an impossible reunion being possible, which allowed Izuru to choose to live as Hajime, and Chiaki allowed Hajime to to accept that he would never be the original Hajime again because of what he has lived through but he could still have a future, and that is how the end of the game turned out. I seriously love this!
I really love this video since you just articulated my feelings on Danganronpa way better than i ever could lol. A shame you didn't include V3 in this retrospective though, despite its different core theme its ending really solidified Danganronpa as a special series in my heart. No matter how controversial it was I'll always believe it was the best ending the series could've asked for.
