@@psionics321 yeah I know all about the beta version of Danganronpa distrust. but what I meant was when they decide to switch distrust into Danganronpa it wasn't supposed to be terrifying it wasn't supposed to be that scary. (even though V3 chapter 5 of 2 and a lot of 1 is the definition of scary in my opinion.)
the actual games are scary... they scare you by making you wonder whos gonna die next, and when... psychological suspense is kinda part of the horror genre

When it’s the end of chapter 5, it glitches and when it shades Nagito in pink, (and Chiaki) it get’s creepier and it doesn’t say “danganronpa” at the end

the THH transitions are underrated. It just feels empty without any music watching as your favorites become nothing but a black shape, and the sound effects at the start of the transitions give off an ominous vibe
I just noticed that in Drv3 the colour of name of the chapter kinda shows who is the killer (by colour gamma): 1st chapter: pink - Kaede 2nd chapter: blue - Kirumi 3rd chapter: green - Korekiyo 4th chapter: orange - Gonta 5th chapter: purple - Kaito Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it's really interesting coincidence
Does anyone else realize that Shuichi is the only protaganist in the game that's not in the middle while Makoto and Hajime are in the middle. Even if Kaede counts, she's still not in the middle. Edit: I dont wanna be that person but Holy shit thanks for 1.1k likes
One thing that always bothered me was how they showed Ibuki being eliminated before Hiyoko. They established that Hiyoko was killed first, but I guess it’s more or less meant to reflect the order of the body discoveries rather than the actual deaths. (Although, this would make the counter inaccurate, as it implies Hiyoko was among the eleven remaining students)
@@karaasame9426 ibuki had blood on her soles. They concluded she was still alive and walking after hiyoko got killed. But then the cutscene shows mikan strangling ibuki when hiyoko walked in. So who knows. That just goes to show how stupid that case was. It would have literally been impossible for mikan to pull off what she did that morning. She ran outta the conf room to dispose of the robe who knows where. Run downstairs with the camera. Go all the way to the music venue to trash the camera. Rip the wallpaper, store it in the closet. Break a drumstick. GLUE THE WHOLE DOOR EDGE. (By this time Hajime would have been coming back to the venue, because he did not take long at the motel, and they for sure would've seen Mikan from the distance, even of she was already making her way back to the hospital). Meet up with Fujuhiko (she would have been drenched in sweat from all that running/quick actions), and meet back up with Hajime and Chiaki which were only there for a short while before Mikan and Fuyuhiko arrived. That trial was a whole ass mess.
@@Markzyan247 I didn't like the 3rd trial nor did I like v2 as a whole, I just liked the character, so I pretty much skipped mostly everything aside from the trial and where nagito and mahiru appeared on screen lol

I love how absolutely EERIE and unsettling dr2's survivor count is, it completely contrasts the opening which was very upbeat and happy ugh watching this is so fucking creepy, i love it,
I'm surprised there isn't a surviving students for Chapter 6. It's the only final trial that had a student among you all be killed as the mastermind and another student commit suicide right after
True like only 3 survivors? That should be mentioned in the body droppings count as it would look very scary and different, it shows how many have really died in the killing game, it’s scary, if only they did that...watch someone make a fan made version after I say this lol.

Honestly, Goodbye Despair's transitions were the most chilling and you can't convince me otherwise. The whole atmosphere makes you feel the real DESPAIR, the white-shaded scenery, the number of students dropping, the sound it makes when a black silhouette turns pink and the "Danganronpa" at the end... is wonderfully disturbing. I literally got goosebumps when the screen started glitching in Chapter 5 and the last thing we could pay attention to are the black silhouettes of the 5 survivors before everything was disconnected. Perfect
DR2's Surviving Students was honestly the best, it just had this really creepy feel to it, and it gave me chills. I also like the sound effect that plays when the number of students go down, and the "Danganronpa" at the end just makes it even more creepy. It scared me when I first played the game. I'm glad they decided to go with a creepy type of feel for the chapter endscreens. DRV3 goes in second, I just liked what they did with the "Surviving Students" though I wished they added a sound effect for when the number of students went down. (I also liked how they changed the colors for each of the chapters, that was nice.) And DR1 goes in third, I like the background noise, and they did a nice touch with the blood. Out of all of these though, I find DR2's really good.
Besides the obvious things about SDR2's Chapter 5's ending, I think the most hard hitting thing has to be- -how the ones who end up dead are Nagito and Chiaki - those who on the image stand the closest to Hajime, both on his left and right side.
This really shows how quick the students drop like flies every chapter passes- Yet the unsettling part is that you would still feel like the majority of the class is still here even after Chapter 4 when more than half of the class is already dead.

If you pay close attention, The Japanese letters that say 'Hope' and 'Despair' on chapter 5, begin to glitch out (In english is says Smile at Hope in the name of Despair)

I especially love the SDR2 version of this screen. The tense music, combined with the dull sound that plays when the amount of students remaining lowers; along with the silhouette of each character turning pink, almost as if their getting marked off. It’s especially gut wrenching in the chapter 5 one. We had just lost 2 of the most important characters in the game. Nagito, who brutally committed suicide; and Chiaki, who was not only executed, but we found out our closest ally was the traitor all along. When the chapter finally comes to an end, the screen is glitchy and distorted as the 2 silhouettes next to Hajime turn pink.
Glassesboi1 Yeah but his death fit because it brought a lot of emotional moments about him, and about his reason for living backstory. Him dying anywhere else wouldn’t fit.
I think instead of being murdered by kirumi he should’ve committed suicide and in chapter 3 there would’ve been a double culprit kiyo killing angie and kirumi killing tenko
It's interesting to me visually how at the end of DRV3, Shuichi is furthest from his surviving classmates and is completely isolated on the left the moment Kokichi dies.
My fav has got to be the second game version, I even thought about an alternative to The 6th chapter transition where it goes like this: starts like the other ones, but then it glitches out and everyone disapears exept for Hajime, later on Hajime gets replaced/turns into Izuru making reference to the game ending and the mastermind exposing
this has to be one of my favourite parts of the games. it just shows you how brutal these killing games are. especially after chapter 3, loosing 3 students...scary
14 students survived in total not including spin off games or shows If we used the fact that danganronpa 2 showed that all the students are alive in the end We’d get 22 not including the second Byakuya or Chiaki

(I just can't see them passing from here) Murderer: Akane (same reason) 4th chapter Victim:Maybe Aoi (Caca) Murderer:Himiko (She could use the Ryoma thing again but this time actually kills her) 5th chapter Victim:Byakuya (Last chapter kind-of-heartbreaker) Murderer:Kyoko (framed again, executed) Survivors:Hajime,Shuichi and Maki
Now looking at the transitions im currently thinking: Wow, they’re actually dead. And yeah I know that, it’s obvious, but idk these just make me realize how bad their situation is, through the cute art style. Just imagine having the number of people in your class just drop in the matter of days. It’s crazy mannn
The actual horror part of danganronpa is playing the daily life, interacting with students while having an anxiety attack thinking who's going to betray you. Then a murder occurs and this transition make it sink into you that people died. (except for 2-3, this chapter's ending was strangely hopeful)
I'm over here just hoping (no pun intended) that there would be 4th game where there is a new cast but with every other student from the previous games and have a huge story with a lot of characters imagine how many trials and executions they'll be.
DR1 had the most chilling chapter end for the surviving students to me. I had always wondered why I didn't see a youtube video of them but now I am happy
Unpopular opinion, V3’s transitions are cooler without the noise. I kind of like it soundless because it further adds to the creepyness. No noise necessary. Just eerie music and the empty silhouettes of characters.
Watching the numbers slowly drop has to be probably one of my favorite(and occasionally least favorite) part of the series. It's just a moment of "oh man they're not coming back" or(if you're me) "*violent screams* NOOOOO NAGITO WHYYYYYY"
this is how id rank them 3: New Danganronpa V3 i love how eerie the background noise is as well as the students silhouettes looking really cool, as well as the font everything is in. one thing to note is the color changes with each chapter. however, theres no sound when the student number ticks down. which takes from some of the drama. 2: Danganronpa 1 i like the blood splatters here at the end of each chapter and the light with shadows that appears with the students. the dead ones turning black is a very nice touch in my eyes as it contrasts with the light 1: Super Danganronpa 2 this has the best qualities of the previous two cutscenes. the unsettling vibe of V3s and the sounds of 1s. but by far the best thing here is the clashing of metal when a student is shown to die. its the only sound that really feels like someone has died and makes you feel even more uneasy. also the woman saying "danganronpa" at the end just adds to it more.
They just HAVE to eliminate the best characters it really hit me so hard just to see your favorite character die, I guess this is what happens if you get too attached.
Dangaropa 1 and 2 transitions. Really gave me a unsettling feeling. You take away the jokes and the music for a minute. And you sit back. You start to process just what happened and how brutal that was. Only to start to wonder who is next?
Am I the only one who noticed that when everytime someone dies, the color changes relating to the victims/culprits?? 3:44 Kaede's outfit 3:59 Ryoma Hoshi's outfit 4:15 Tenko's hair or Korekiyo 4:30 Kinda looks red, like Miu's personality or it's just that she's hot 4:45 Kokichi and Kaito
In chapter 4, the victim commited self-omit (probably to balance out the extra one in chapter 1) and the mastermind reused that extra's corpse in chapter 5
Personally, I think that if you put the students' dropping sound from SDR2 and put it over THH's transition, you'd have THE scariest chapter ending screen
Chapter 3 of danganronpa 2 hurts me the most because Ibuki and Hyoiko are my to favorite characters in 2. And yet they get killed and the same Chapter, at least they are near each other for their deaths. Damn now I'm sad typing this.
