they are definitely gonna get better soon when workshop compatibility will be brought into multiplayer. right now the maps are kind of minimal. most people have already flown every mission
@@SgtAwesome97 it's already in game, but it's on the public testing branch I believe. There's already a lot of missions and they're amazing. I'd recommend trying it out
The seventeen incoming missile warnings amidst all the altitude and pull up warnings is engrained into my brain from this game. So many "oh shit" moments where you just have to drop your objective and run for your life. It's intense as hell sometimes and i love it. An experience that sim style games thrive at giving. Wish I could've run into ya for a mission. (Also the Beta branch has workshop support if you're looking to try some new missions out.)
Please keep up with the VTOL VR vids. You're like the only big name that's putting out videos for this game. Please keep it up and help drive up the popularity of this game! I'm getting my Index next week and I'm super excited for this game.
I don’t really understand your point. How does being able to travel 40 miles in 2 minutes in a literal video game correlate to tech advancement? It’s not like they’re actually traveling that distance lmao
@@floridasoldat What I’m saying is that it’s crazy that computers can run games like this now, with massive playable areas far as the eye can see. Compare this to Pac-Man and you’ll see exactly what I mean lol
I love it but am getting burnt out, the single player has just run out things for me to do and without friends to enjoy multiplayer it’s not that cool.
@Dead Leg Media 6 solid missile locks. I watched the analysis of that video on CW 'Mover' LeMoine's channel. That Viper driver was throwing his F-16 all over the sky. It was masterful evasive flying, but also proof of the superiority of the wingman concept because his wingbro was giving him headsup on launches _before_ the radar data could be assimated. It's an awesome thing to see, but I bet whoever was tasked with cleaning G suits had a _very_ bad day😅🤣
@@blaze4lifedog I went back and looked again too. I ran through every video Mover has up on his channel, and I couldn't find it either! I _know_ I saw it, but damned if I can find it. I wish I could tell you something more satisfying, but I am totally baffled at this point.
PLEASE make VTOL VR a semi-regular part of your rotation! I know you probably need to wait for the Workshop to become available to public MP but it is SUCH an underrated game and needs every bit of attention it can get! Love your vids, Drewski!
The fact that you survived all of those missiles... LOL I had a similar situation in DCS once, just with real players shooting at me... a little less people, but still a ton of missiles.
I would just like to emphasize, this footage is accurate. You do not need to play for tens of hours to get footage and the handpick the 20 minutes of usable content. You also don't have to be a popular and skilled content creator to get those experiences. This is literally what every game of VTOL VR mp is like. I have never before experienced such a well made game with a nice community like VTOL. If you have a VR headset and PC, this is a mandatory title. Period.
Just in case you don't know, you can set the AIM-9s to be uncaged by default, so the seekers will sync to your view and aim wherever you're looking. Allows you to pull some insane stuff and you don't have to put your nose directly on them to get a missile off on them.
I lost count at how many missiles defended on "NO NO NO PLEASE STOP PLEA" . Reminds me of that f-16 at Desert Storm who dodged 6 missiles with little to none counter measures! That Stealth fighter is agile AF, especially after ejecting all that weight. Gotta try me some VR multi now, love the vid!
6:23 I don't recommend having the radar screen up as it's quite useless in the F45, Rather have the TSD up, it's a combined datalink and radar display with lots more info.
You know what I think the best part of VR is? the Non verbal expressions from other player characters. You could spend literal millions of dollars on high budget animations and they still woukdnt be as good as this
@OperatorDrewski Check your equipment menu when using infraref missiles. Make them headlocked, so you don't have to point your nose at enemies to shoot, but instead use the visor. When using anti-ship cruise missiles put their mode to SSEvasive, so they skim the water surface and avoid enemy AA
I'm honestly surprised you found a well tempered server. I've played vtol quite a bit and it's always ten year olds saying profanities into the mic constantly and people abusing game mechanics to do non physical things (30g turns). It's nice to watch you have fun with it
Any place can have a drop ceiling. That's the benefit and the curse. My 1800s house has a drop ceiling in the bathroom and its the stupidest thing ever. Dude, shaking 7 bogeys like that is nuts

Altitude! Altitude! Chaff, flares! Chaff! Pull up! Altitude! Pull up! Chaff, flares! That missile/bandit evasion was intense! Very impressive flying! I've only passed out a couple of times in my life but it seems like this game replicates the experience pretty well with the sounds seeming further and further away until they fade completely with the black out. I'm curious, does the aircraft say "Chaff, flares!" when you fire them, or when you should fire them?
@@Aqueox I figured that as well, but wasn't sure what the point of that would be. He just pushed the button, so wouldn't he know that the countermeasures were just deployed? The only reason I could think of for that being the case is so that he could have confirmation that they deployed correctly, but even that is dubious since if pushing the button failed to launch them, what's to stop the plane from erroneously declaring that they were launched anyways?
We have starlink coming soon. I've been in a broadband desert for 5 years now. This and Squad will be the first games I dive into. VTOL will be a good warmup before DCS. I can't wait. My last time in a sim was Falcon 4.

I feel like this game is the middle ground. between DCS and Hardware space lol. Another way to put it is that its kind of like how Squad is the middle ground of battlefield and ARMA. You get High fidelity, but simplified cockpits, and while it isnt 1 million bajillion buttons, I can actually remember what each of them does. It's very satisfying to be able to use the aircraft in this game without having to think about what everything does, and instead it is all just muscle memory. I bet it is pure heaven in DCS to do that.
