I have borderline autism and Aspergers and I couldn't tell you how hard my mother had to fight for my education to be comfortable for me. We went through numerous teachers who thought I was acting out selfishly, so we ended up switching schools and my grades sky rocketed thanks to a principal and group of teachers and behavioural and learning specialists visiting me every week.

I have a mild form of autism. I was diagnosed at age three. They had the resources for it in the eighties but not like they do in the 2010s. I don't believe autism can be "cured". That's like saying that they can "cure" downs syndrome. Medicine has come a long way in my lifetime. They have the resources even now to help the people with autism live normal fruitful lives.

Such contradictions here. Using supplements is seen as 'child abuse' and 'fixing' your child. But ABA isn't? Please.....the whole point of ABA is to make the child appear as typical as possible. I do think it is easy to overdo it with supplements, but we can all use some help if our diet or body isn't producing what we need to function at an optimal level. There is a balance.ABA is super expensive, even with insurance coverage. Supplements are also, but if you don't over do it, it s manageable. There is such hypocrisy in this video and an obvious agenda

I recovered my autistic son with an added diagnosis if severe receptive/expressive delay. Most adult autistics HATE ABA. I never used it because the public schools were useless in CA and I took all 3 of my boys out and homeschooled. They said my son had a 50 IQ and should be institutionalized at 3. Then they said hooked on phonics doesn't work for those kids...etc. I stopped listening to the experts and now my son is 27 with a full time job and a serious girlfriend.

Hello, how are you. I hope all is well. My son was recently diagnosed with severe delay in receptive and expressive delay.....well expressive and auditory comprehension delay. The speech therapist suggested to get a psychological evaluation to screen in or screen out Autism. He was diagnosed with Autism and so based on your statement. I want to know how exactly you did it. My son will be getting ABA and I also researched and found out about MeRT. I am thinking to do both therapies. However I am very interested to know more because my son has the same diagnosis as your son. I am trying to understand how to help him to have a better life outcome.

While insurance may technically "cover" ABA treatment -- there are still insanely high co-pays that most families can't afford. ABA treatment is usually 5 days a week. And when you have a $40 copay per day, that's $800/month. So it's a little frustrating seeing this Areva lady applauding herself, when the treatment is still financially inaccessible to your average family.

Right. Just like SLP's are not trained in how to assess functions of severe, maladaptive behaviors and how to treat them. Good luck doing a speech session with a severely autistic kid who claws his eyes out, spits on you, and smears feces on the walls.

These people don't know what they're talking about. My son's autistic and I can tell you it's hell for him and us. What therapy do you have when your son keeps crying and screaming every single day for no reason. Banging his head on anything, pinching, scratching himself until he bleeds. He's peeing anywhere in the house, or pooping in the garbage can just because he doesn't want to use the bathroom. Can't sleep and wakes up in the middle of the night. Wanders away without even knowing, eats only a particular food and nothing else. etc. He's 10 and his speech is limited. He had ABA, speech therapy, floor time, music and I can tell you it was a waste of our time. These therapies can't treat or help any of these problems that I mentioned before, nor can it treat food allergies, stomachaches, sensory issues etc. All I know is that autism is heartbreaking for anyone, but with God's help one day there will be a cure.

Heaven is my home... please read up on natural means to help with these symptoms... I know it's frustrating but read and be patient if you do decide to try that route... after building his nutrients level maybe say about 1 to 2 months in try to start with a gentle metal detox... it's worth a try as these are via supplements and holistic means including his diet I understand your frustration. I started and was surprised heard my daughter says hi Sandra and a few other sentences I was trying to get her to say awhile now including words I didn't know she knows. For eg.. it's incomplete. .. I was totally surprised. She even solved a 24 piece puzzle... I am currently just started about 1 week now with a good probiotic and vitamins with specific contents (b12 mwthylbolamin and foliate in metylfolate)... note your my want to add magnesium to this as this is said to be a calming nutrient/supplement.... note I am not a medical professional but I have been researching this and success stories for awhile now. I only decided to try as my daughter is getting older and is more receptive of taking supplements. .. note patients and stages maybe key... it's worth a try as adding nutrients in the correct portions shouldn't hurt..,

Dr. BJ Freeman misdiagnosed me. My parents went to her for help regarding behavior issues when I was 2 in 1993. Her suggestion was to immediately admit me to UCLA’s in patient neuropsychiatric hospital to be observed continuously (still have traumatic memories of being taken away from my parents). At the end of my stay, I didn’t fit into any specific diagnosis so she diagnosed me with Aspergers and began treating me for it, which included medication. It was so frustrating to go through childhood being treated and medicated for something I didn’t have and I realized I didn’t have. To think she’s diagnosed that many children makes me wonder if she misdiagnosed anyone else.

It's definitely OK to share resources that u have found beneficial but others have found therapy to be beneficial so your last point there is actually harmful to others and not accurate at all. They may not have been benificial to ur son but many ha e found them to be helpful it is simply another tool on the tool box to support neurodivergent people. I take meds for my adhd but I don't go around saying that's what works for everyone with I say I find the medication helpful in treating my adhd I am also not a DR and shouldn't be tellong others how to treat there conditions or how parents should support their child. Well done for not keeping an open mind.i think it is wrong for these people to make Mockery of thousands of children who have significantly improved from all these new treatments for autism, so many kids have been recovered.they have never talked to parents who believe in it and have done well with their kids.
@madeleinedougherty2977
@madeleinedougherty2977 2 года назад
In Uganda, many people believe that children need to be explicitly taught to walk. Parents practice walking exercises with their infants, and then credit the exercises when the child learns to walk, when of course it would have started walking on its own anyway. The same thing is happening when children "recover" from autism. A child who's a late bloomer is put through all sorts of "treatments," and then eventually his mind develops to the point where he's ready to speak, and his parents credit the treatments even though they had nothing to do with it. Of course, "recovered" children are only a small minority of kids put through autism treatment. What's much more common is for families to go hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt trying every brand of snake oil on the market, only for their kid to make little if any "progress." In both cases, everyone would be a lot better off if parents would quit trying to change the unchangeable.

A message to all parents of autistic kids: PLEASE don't put your kid on a gluten-free diet, unless the kid is ACTUALLY gluten-intolerant. I was on a gluten-free diet for six years as a kid, and I absolutely hated it. Its most immediate effect was isolating me even more than I already was, since I couldn't eat the same things as the other kids, and I couldn't bear to watch them eat real bread and real cake when I was stuck with the gluten-free substitute. In the long run, it really messed up my sense of moderation in food. I became obsessed with bread. For years after I got off the diet, I ate almost nothing but carb-filled junk food because I'd developed a scarcity mindset towards food that tasted good. It's actually really common for kids who grew up on pointlessly restrictive diets to have really unhealthy diets as adults. Plus, people who were on unnecessary gluten-free diets are more likely to have health problems like heart disease in middle age. Removing a perfectly healthy substance from your diet for no good reason is never good for you. And I was lucky in that I was able to even eat gluten-free food. Some autistic kids already have restricted diets, thanks to their sensory issues, and could end up severely malnourished if their diets are restricted even more. I don't have any personal experience with the other "cures," but I will say that adult autistics have come out in droves to say that ABA destroyed their coping mechanisms and gave them PTSD. And I can't find reliable evidence that MeRT actually works, just a handful of anecdotes. ("This boy gained some skills between the ages of eight and twelve! It's a miracle!" As if kids normally stayed completely the same for four years.) I oppose autism cures for a practical reason - none of them work. Parents of autistic kids have two options - accept their kids for who they are, or waste their life savings on quack cures that make the whole family miserable.

Why don't they explain the correlation between skyrocketing autism rates and causative correlations? Why do the numbers seem to show that the more vaccines, the higher the rates of autism? If vaccines are not the cause, then what are the causes?

Mia Malaree but nobody likes people with autism at all and they speak to them like they’re little babies. I see it all the time. People even do it to me. Pisses me the fuck off. I would abort a fetus if I knew my fetus would have autism Won’t let them be bullied

This is interesting talk its like opening the subconscious software of common sense.... basic and understandable as in any other issues ADHD, or OCD or any... Subconscious program works on 95 percent of the day, conscious mind works on 5 percent, which means everybody has some problem to overcome subconscious program.

If autism could not be cured why would the stem cell institute in Panama make the parent sign a $75,000 gag order
@jimple

Can you explain this one further or link any info regarding this.

You can easily search for stem cell institute in Panama and read their guidelines. It's over 20k for treatment.. and you sign a gag order upon treatment. The doctors that opened their facility there are all from the united states they have plenty of information online if u dig deep enough stating why they could not open here and how the " stem cells" allowed by this government are the controversial ones.

While I'm at it.. look into doctor Jodie dashore from new Jersey.. who also was a tremendous help with my daughters healing process. Lyme, pandas, mold, autism.. these are biological illnesses come from all the shit around us. I just love when the fogazy ass internet tricks people with their Tylenol accusations.. and mention genetics. After being denied 2 times we finally got our genetic testing.. guess it's not genetic. Also when you fight relentlessly and think your getting somewhere you realize they are all in on this 3 card Monty game. When we received our genetic testing results they fail to actually give us results. Just a paper saying everything was in normal range, no actual results, with writing I asked for the actual results and stated I am more concerned with the make of the 6th chromosome.. which they then told me even if I get the actual results they are not obligated to disclose the 6th chromosome.. well isn't that a specific strange coincidence. Dr Jodie dashore has great information on chromosomes and which make up which part. I've studied enough independently to have my child's physicians look at me in guilt and say sorry upon every visit. The second someone comes into a room and offers a vaccine I ask them if they are specialists in this field. That's when the apologies come pouring in.. I don't say sorry to anyone if I have not done anything wrong.

Nicholas Glenski Running Wild you can't "cure" autism. It's a disorder that is there no matter what you do. Autism is caused by missing genetic information. You can do therapies to help autistic kids learn to speak, potty train and do basic everyday things.
