During a traffic stop, a driver avoids following the cops orders and suddenly drives off. A high speed police chase quickly ensues ending a reckless crash. Once caught, the passenger claims to not know the suspect and the Cops doubt her story. Elsewhere, Cops go on an undercover mission to bust drug dealers and buyers.
Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.
