I think some people in the comments forget what it's like to be a learner driver. I for one took 5 attempts to pass my driving test. I've now been driving 5 years. Some people learn at different paces. I know I failed because I got anxious and rushed things and made silly mistakes. Learning to drive is a massive scary thing. You all need to chill out she's with a professional who knows what she's doing

Well said. Same as you it took me 5 goes to pass but I have now been driving officially for 4 years and I am a very good driver. I see SO many bad drivers on the road, every car journey. The amount of times it takes to pass your test doesn't mean you are a bad driver and passing first time doesn't make you a better driver, as you are still learning even after you have passed.

I hate people that beeps to learners, they forgot that they have been in this position once
@cnsmooth
@cnsmooth 2 года назад
Meh sometimes it is warranted and it makes the learner not repeat the very obvious mistake that was made. In this case jumping in a very small gap in a roundabout is not something you wanna be doing regularly. You're probably right though because if she was on a real test the beeping might make the difference between the examiner giving her a fault or not
@CraicDiario
@CraicDiario 2 года назад
I agree with you, sometimes it's necessary for warning but it happens in very rare occasions... mostly of the time its unnecessary and it makes the learner panic, like when they stall at roundabout or traffic lights

Better to go for Automatic when there are clutch issues even after 50 hours of driving. Also, her Instructor has to address the weak areas and make her work more on those specific ones. Few are so worried about Gearbox 🤷‍♀️, well she could have been stopped anytime rather than doing a mock test for 30 mins if that’s a major concern. I always tell new learner drivers to always try to have several lessons with 2/3 different driving instructors (at the early stages) so they can spot bad habits and encourage the learner to fix the issues before they become a problem. Some instructors are milking learners and if you've had 70 hours of driving lessons and the learner doesn't understand the basics such as gears, signaling, signs, and who has priority on the roads then change driving instructors immediately! FYI - the poor gearbox had a rough day that day. :(
@rdu239
@rdu239 2 года назад
I say instructors should be very finicky and fiddle with the learners at the first days in the driving lessons, instilling them the importance of driving basics as early as possible. I've had heard learners doing decent progress and when in at their final day in driving lesson a very stern and pedantic instructor happens to be their final assessor and just exposed learner's faults too much, basically almost throwing every previous days worth of driving lessons he got with pretty good ratings. That assessor almost gave the person a low grade if not for the learner begged his way out.

@@shayna8324 tbf, depends on how the instructor was 👀 my sister started learning with National Intensive and the instructor she got matched with spent most of his time texting and browsing the web, didn't give feedback unless it was negative, but then scolded her rather than calmly and professionally explaining what she did wrong and the right way to do it... Hi Aman, I see that you really risked by taking Saema to higher speed routs with giant roundabouts. Saema has a set of wrong information about how the car technically works, that happens to people who try to avoid paying an instructor at the beginning of their learning and choose to learn with a family member (I do not know if this is the case with Saema), I hope that she can get ride of those bad, dangerous habits soon.

Even if she's persistent on doing manual, she should try an automatic first, after a few weeks she could switch to a manual but with a full concentration on the road and following all rules. My brother was like that, not that bad but still doing some dangerous moves, so I got him a great automatic Mazda 3 with stability control and she did great since first days, no more risk than scraping the tires or defense which is not the big deal for a first car.

If she had an actual instructor, I gotta say that's embarrassing on how badly she was taught, maybe she is hard to teach, which is why she has 70+ hours, but someone must've told her she needs 1st gear on every turn which is just completely wrong and it was painful to watch, very rough on the gears, and lack of gearstick knowledge and speed, seems like a lovely person though

I feel the same, I think her instructor she had wasn’t good and wasn’t teaching her the correct stuff and she’s picked up those bas techniques. My old instructor was like that (use to me make me practice the old corner reversing manoeuvre) I had 40 hours with him and left cause he would say my driving is bad and need more lessons. Booked a mock test with another instructor took a hour lesson before my test and passed it first time. If she gets a good instructor she will definitely benefit!

It could be her nerves as well. Because I am very nervous when I hear the word test and I make all the mistakes which I don't do normally. On a normal driving lesson with my instructor I am fine and he says that I am a good driver but as soon as he mentions a mock test my nerves start to kick in.

Hmm, massively questionable as to how she has learnt to drive so far! Seriously needs accredited, fully qualified driving instructor lessons, and perhaps it would lend her well to learn to drive in an automatic rather than manual! That way, she should then build confidence and enough knowledge about how a car operates and how to read signs to then be ready for her test. Lots more work required before she even considers putting in for her test. This mock test very quickly turned into an actual lesson! Wow, I could not be an instructor, I really don’t think I’d have the patience! Hats off to all of these amazing instructors!!!
