I dont know, I have sustained many injuries from "having an active lifestyle" even broke an ankle and heel severely. Last I checked I feel pretty safe at home on the couch or on the pc. If i ever get severely hurt while on the couch then that's my time to go.
What kind of exercise did you do ? Well there are 2 main types, strength resistance training and cardio, HIIT is something in between. If you never did any strength training at all you should prioritize it to increase your overall muscle mass. You get stronger, your muscles protect your joints and you'll perform better when playing sports (cardio) and less likely to get injured
