Let’s not be myopic, anywhere in Nigeria can be a source of good investment eg lithium plant in Nassarawa state, Abia power plant etc. The earlier we change our mind the better we are positioned for greatness.
As a truck dealer i want to know how much the truck cost. Its price that will decide, because dangote and his partners may monopolize the trucking industry since they are made in Nigeria and again if the parts are imported from China Sinotruck. It may also halt the importation of trucks from China if dangote trucks are cheaper. Only our trade commissions act can know if it may lead to leveraging dominance. Nigerians need to be aware of such trade acts and corporations that make competition unhealthy, such as dangote cement during Buharis term.
Its just an assembly plant... Vehicle is Sino.. Dangotes name on it is basically for tax waivers... so dangote will be handling the govt back pocket side of things while Sino imports their parts and assemble here.
@@ahmednjidda6182How do you know if I wasn't concerned then? I'm concerned about any monopoly in my country. Anti Trust Laws were taking more seriously because of Buhari, not too long ago. Monopoly affects the economy and they can be hiding under our noses. Many corporations have been sued by their competition and settled millions of dollars. It can even be as little as the way a company promotes its goods or reduction in price of the goods.

Igbo businessmen are doing far more than any tribe individually. The Federal Government devised different evil plans to frustrate and kill the businesses owned by the Igbos. Ibeto was discriminated against in the cement industry, even though his product is the best in Nigeria. Importers from the South East were subjected to unfair custom duty regulations targeting their businesses for destruction. Does the FG patronise Innoson Motors which makes CNG vehicles and all models of trucks, posh and special utility automobiles just because he is Igbo? Nigeria would have grown beyond where it is if there is a free-playing field for citizens to compete fairly in the business sector. Still, inspite of all these, Igbos employ other tribes in their companies provided they have the requisite skills and competencies.

Upon all that, they assembles Chinese electric Train and trams for local markets. Just like European nations, they have electric trains for passengers and cargo 760 KM networks.

Clown, There's opportunity in that sector as well by the time Dangote start harvesting his rice you will start shouting cos he has already invested so much in rice and Sugar but your Ibeto and the rest keep importing. They were all giving license the same time and they promised to key into backward integration in Sugar and Cement but today only Dangote, BUA and few others are keeping to their promises and your people has destroyed us with importation.

We have Innoson, 100% owned by Nigeria. So assembly of Chinese originated vehicles is not major news. That said, if Lagos is supporting with purchase of chinese vehicles, then the S.E. can also do the same with indigenous Nigerian brand. Only Otti to my knowledge has made a public show of support for Innoson's vehicles.
Innoson is a rebadged dongfeng and other Chinese brand, they don't design cars, you keep saying it's Chinese , can we even compare with them that you are looking down on their products? One has to start somewhere,
