When I first watched IT Crowd I thought it's a fictional band and the name was a gag about the stereotypical metal band names, because who names their band Cradle of Filth. Well, I lost my shit when I realised it actually is a real thing.

I was just turned on to The IT Crowd about 2 weeks ago and nearly pissed myself when Richmond mentioned one of my favorite metal bands of all time. That whole scene was hilarious.

When someone asks me about being a metal head: "We're just like you really, except that we listen to cradle of filth"

Not kidding, I came SO close to pissing my pants from laughter when I first seen it. It was completely unexpected, and funny as shit.

This is amazing. I always wondered if Dani had seen it. I'd kill to see a Cradle show with Richmond doing the introduction.

Ha! I didn't realise it's a real band (I know, that probably makes me ignorant ;) ). I thought they just made up a band name that sounded like something Richmond would listen to.

Funny thing is that I personally went goth just like that character in IT Crowd did - after listening to COF. There's definitely something to this band .. to Dani's outstanding dark creativity and song lyrics..

I don't like Heavy Metal (the only exception is Sepultura) and Cradle of Filth came to my attention in 2001. A friend of mine used to play it over and over and I couldn't stand it. But when I saw the CoF reference on IT Crowd, I've changed my mind. They're really good. 😅

Saw the cradle at Graspop last month, i send some footage to friends with the note: they got me to some bleak times. suprised that Dani stil has the screams. Axl sucked that day. hahahaha

I've been a metalhead for over a decade. Cradle of filth was one of the first bands that got me into metal, and so much that I practically copied everything Dani did. My real name is Kani and his Dani we both have the last 3 letters. I tried to do the same eyeliner, and I've been practicing my vocals, but my vocals are basically like Dani from Cradle of filth. Nowadays I learned to have my own style. I'm mostly into Technical death metal bands like Archspire, and dsbm bands like, Coldworld.

A year ago I was a normal child googling to see if the band off the IT crowd was real. THEN I became hit with “the emo/goth phase (I like both emo and goth subcultures ok) and now cradle of filth is one of my fave bands :)

I've recently been looking for rock stars that resemble the Primarchs from Warhammer 40000, and while I don't listen to Cradle of Filth, I think Dani Filth would be a dead ringer for Conrad Curze.
