I like how Johnny adjusts his jacket sleeve right before he and Daniel start to fight. It's like it's his way of flipping his fight switch to the on position.
@@Maryweather28-fy8jj that must have been indescribably humiliating to Daniel. Karate in the 80’s in central California was popular like football then. I was a kid back then and understood how people thought back then. Here’s my take: Like Johnny to his group, they had the impression Daniel was their leader to look up to in the group when telling the guy trying to console him he was an expert in karate some time ago.. Their assumptions were gone after the fight leaving them ashamed based on their expectations of Daniel. You can say it was a shallow friendship based on that rather than just because or for who he was. You can call those “fairwhether friends”. People are less harsh and insensitive in those respects nowadays.
@@pollycronopolis7648 I was wondering one reason why Freddy left and stopped being his friend was because Daniel acted to Freddy like he was a badass fighter. When really Daniel hadn't had that experience when Daniel said he's been doing it for a while. But IV been thinking that say Daniel was a badass fighter, just as good as Johnny and and had been training for years, but Johnny beat him anyway. Whould Daniel still get left behind and they not be his friends anymore thought the movie?
@@Maryweather28-fy8jj he thought Daniel was cool not for his personality necessarily but what he thought he could do. He would’ve stayed friends with him no doubt if it never happened. The funny thing is I’m sure Freddy wanted to buddy up with him again after he won the tournament against Johnny but Daniel wouldn’t have given him the chance after what he saw. He would still be nice to them but limit his talk with them keeping it short and sweet every now and then lol
@@pollycronopolis7648 Yes, there is a deleted scene in "The Karate Kid" where Freddy apologizes to Daniel at the tournament. This scene occurs after Daniel's leg is injured during the tournament, specifically after his semi-final match against Johnny. In the deleted scene, Freddy approaches Daniel to apologize for not defending him against Johnny and the other Cobra Kai members earlier in the film. However, Daniel, still upset and in pain from his injury, doesn't respond to Freddy's apology and walks away. This scene provides additional insight into the dynamics of Daniel's relationships with his peers and highlights the aftermath of the bullying he faced throughout the film. This is what someone sent me. Something I'm wondering is Did Daniel have very good reason to do what he does when Freddy apologized? Should Freddy be apologizing or should Daniel? Like I really don't know what's true like how long Daniel has been doing Karate for before he came to California? So but let's just say he did lie or didn't lie but exaggerated Or both. Should Daniel be the one apologizing to Freddy?

@@Anakinskywalkerfan1 But still Daniel technically did not flirt with anyone's girlfriend. Daniel had every right to step in because Ali didn't want Johnny around in the first place. Ali said weeks. If you flirt with a girl or boy who had only been broken up for a week, you have every right to. In fact you have every right to kiss him or her if she or he wants you to. But Ali said weeks so who knows how long she meant? Jhonny was being a jerk and aggressive so I could care less if Ali and Jhonny got back together. Ali said weeks so they had been broken up for at least two weeks but who knows? Yes it should be respected but still Daniel did not flirt with someone else's girlfriend. Daniel Berly knew what was happening. He hadn't even met Johnny until that night.
@@Anakinskywalkerfan1 Ali and Johnny were not ex husband and wife and they did not have kids together. It was a highschool relationship that Ali called off. Ali flirted with Daniel too. @@Anakinskywalkerfan1in cobra Kai Daniel said to Miguel that he didn’t even know that Johnny existed before he came on the beach, so he would only know if Ali told him which she didn’t
Yeah, except for the whole throwing Daniel off a cliff and beating him nearly to death thing because of a screwed up "kill or be killed" philosophy imparted upon him by his toxic martial arts instructor.
@@actuary33Yeah I always liked Bobby, he was the only good cobra kai, he didn't belong with Johnny and his buddies, he should have befriended Daniel, that would have made a great storyline.
The story would have been better if they were married in surprised they weren’t kinda sad they could have done a few episodes of them getting back together love interest B roll
Who knew 30 years later that this would set up three sequels, one remake, and an extremely satisfying sequel series where this guy, 2:21 becomes our underdog
She said she would talk to him He gave her the radio, she looked up waiting for him to say something, then he took the radio from her hands and smashed it.
@@Stephen-to7jx she wasn’t waiting for him to talk. She turned on the radio and gave him a smirk. I’m not defending Johnny. Johnny shouldn’t have taken it in the first place.
The timing was really bad for Daniel to meet Allí….if it was to be real life. Reason being is because that just so happens to be when Johnny was trying to patch things up with Allí after a huge argument they had, leading to her wanting to break up with him. Then Daniel steps in the way by meeting Allí. It isn’t Daniel’s fault, and Johnny was angry and heart broken. The timing was just bad. But of course, Daniel’s “so-called” friends ditch him because he got his ass kicked after they egged him on to fight, which wasn’t right.
Daniel could see Johnny was bigger than him. One thing to try to fight back if someone starts pushing you around but don't go confront someone when he hasn't done anything to you yet. He just met Ali. Was she really worth getting into a fight over.
How we saw Johnny here in 1984: “That guy who broke that girl’s radio” How we see Johnny today: *A TOTAL BADASS!!!* ❤️🔥🤜🔥 BONUS: How we saw Darth Vader in 1977: “That guy who killed that farmboy’s dad”
Funny to look back at this scene & there's a lot to actually process. Johnny & Dutch literally adding 'salt' to the wound when they sprayed Daniel with sand as they left on their bikes, Johnny making sure to run over Ally's radio after already destroying it, etc. and at 5:11, Bobby suddenly seeming concerned that the new kid might really be hurt. I always thought though it was weird how the kids Daniel had just met ditched him and interesting how superficial Ally's friends were to also just - ditch him in the sand. I think with Cobra Kai (show) it's what makes Daniel kind of the way the is of course, PTSD from being bullied. Barnes was IMHO somehow more violent in pt 3 so yeah, I get Daniel's hatred of it. A shame though they couldn't have Bobby on it more, he was the only one from then that didn't seem like as big of a jerk.
Beautiful at that age you get quite big dreams. Unfortunately for Johny his plans didn’t work out and ended up in some low paid handy work. Life sometimes doesn’t go your way. It got a black sense of humour.
Dude, Ali didn't want to talk to Johnny at all and he didn't even respect it. Daniel was trying to stand up for her, like--come on. By everyone's logic, If you kept telling someone no and to respect your space and they don't listen, that makes the guy who's pushing you the good guy? Sheesh!
In the deleted scene he ran over his leg with the motorcycle and then dragged him by that leg on the back of his bike through the water until he passed out after getting a jellyfish stuck to his head. They should have kept it in the movie
Although Daniel was defeated the first time, he at least had the courage to defend himself and he gave Johnny a good punch in the mouth. Not bad for a beginner. Lol.😄
Couldn't help but notice at 5:00 that she's just about the perfect height to drive her forehead into Johnny's nose. That would've been excellent. Probably would've ended the movie too.
@@Kevin-tz2lv ok these really are just questions when I ask this. I’m just trying to understand the scene better. Let’s say the beach scene happened in real life. Who would be the one who needs to apologize the next day at school and why? When Daniel asked what’s going on was he being sarcastic? Like wasn’t it obvious what was going on? So when he said that was he basically telling Johnny to chill? If yes Was it right that he did that like being sarcastic with him? Like because it probably just made Jhonny more upset. Like how like how did Daniel mean no harm when he was sarcastic? I’m not saying that Daniel was the bully. I personally don’t believe that I’m just trying to understand the scene better
@Maryweather28-fy8jj I think you're reading to much into him asking "what's going on"....like he's not really asking but he's being sarcastic either...he's just kinda nervous and yeah, kinda saying let's all relax. Johnny was at fault here, all the way. Imagine you meet a girl you really like...hanging out with here a couple hours...and a guy shows up, gets in her face and takes her phone (updated to 2024 lol) and then throws it down, breaks it. I would hope you would step in.. I know I would. Yeah it's not gonna end well 4 on 1 but still. And johnny shoves him first.
Daniel didn't provoke JOhnny into breaking the radio, and he also did nothing to justify being beaten down. HE stood up for someone who needed standing up for. I would have done no less in his situation.
Daniel had just been unfairly beaten and of course was going to retaliate and stand up for himself. He thought that by striking back he'd even things out. He had no idea Johnny would escalate things beyond that after a simple punch in the nose.
@@Mars-xc1ns That doesn't justify what Johnny does to him. Throwing him off a cliff? Nearly beating him to death because he ruined his chance to smoke in the boys room? Johnny will never NOT be the villain of this film.
@@ArthurRex131 There's a difference between a cliff and a hill, he rolled him off s hill. Daniel almost drowned him in his quest for revenge. Hosing him with water, when it was unexpected, causing multiple car crashes. I wish Miyagi saw that. Johnny wasn't going to beat him to death, he was going to teach him a lesson.
@@Mars-xc1ns Daniel almost drowned him? How and when did he do that? If you're referring to the boys room incident, it would take a hell of a lot more than leaving Johney in an UNLOCKED ROOM with a hose to ensure that he drowned. Split hairs with me all you want, Johnny nearly killed Daniel on two different occasions. All Daniel did was pop him in the nose once at the beach and soak him with a hose to stop him from getting high in the bathroom. But you go right ahead and keep thinking Johnny is the hero of the film. I don't have time for people who make excuses for would be murderers. And also the "I'll decide when he's had enough" line when Daniel was clearly unable to STAND, much less fight back, shows you just how far Johnny was willing to go. If not for Miyagi, Daniel would have either been hospitalized or dead where he stood.
Every time crazy shit happens on Cobra Kai, I think back to this scene. All this insanity started because Daniel talked to a girl on the beach 40 years ago.
This part is sad because Johnny ends up basically trying to do the same thing again later in life due to the influence of the people he grew up with to Daniel. Luckily, Daniel’s wife prevented them from hurting each other again and they ended up understanding one another, especially because Johnny left Cobra Kai
Daniel was out of order. He made Jonny look small. There was a way to deescalate things but he was more interested in looking like the white knight saviour. Glad Jonny put him down
Seriously, bro? White knight savior? He stood up for a girl who was being harassed by her ex boyfriend, to whom she made it unequivocally clear that she did not want to talk. Was Daniel supposed to just..do nothing? What if Johnny had escalated things and Ali ended up getting hurt because Daniel did nothing? What then?
Ali and Johnny had their moments and Daniel didn’t even know who Johnny was or anything about Cobra Kai, he just saw this girl he really likes and she was looking back at him and that’s okay
@@ArthurRex131 he didn’t know how to de-escalate. Going in there trying to be chivalrous when there’s a heated argument between a couple, with adrenaline flowing, and then trying to give Jonny the naughty school boy treatment is a recipe for disaster.
oh wow this looks so good and both fighter are so hot, but I am just like Daniel we both have big mouth and Johnny kick are ass and the hit and kick are very good,
LaPusso's just can't help antagonizing everyone he comes across, including, but not limited to, those American soldiers in the bar in Part II... People say, "oh, but Daniel was the real victim..." However, I respectfully disagree. If a person has so many enemies in such a short timespan, it's time to assess who the real aggressor is. A single enemy is understandable, two, raises an eyebrow; but having three enemies all in succession and all wanting to destroy him is a pattern. All of his enemies have one commonality between them: they've all encountered Daniel's toxic and vengeful personality. Look at Cobra Kai, he goes on to physically attacking that car dealership owner because he couldn't stand the competition. Then later, when Johnny was trying to re-establish himself as a legitimate business owner to try and better his life; LaPusso pettiness and jealousy got every store owner's rent increased at that strip mall simply because he wanted revenge. Who does that, seriously? It's really a shame, because Miyagi likely died a premature death over the constant BS that Daniel subjected him to...
