"I feel like I haven't seen you in 5 minutes but it's actually 30 years" well that's a real connection there they must be soulmates at some point. They should have ended together.
I read the dedication that Tamlyn put into bringing a more authentic Okinawan portrayal than when she was younger and inexperienced. She edited her Japanese lines to an Okinawan dialect, and she edited the dance to an Okinawan style. It's a lot of off screen work, but it highlights the humility and maturity I've always admired about her.
@@linnycrocus6023 Thank you for saying that. Seems people forgot he did all that to her .The whole Chozen/Kumiko will fall in love and live happily ever after storyline is ridiculous.
@@linnycrocus6023 I kinda agree, but Chozen has changed and is very close with Daniel and the Larusso's. Chozen even goes as far as to threaten Terry Silver for threatening Daniel's family.
@@linnycrocus6023 chozen fought to the death to protect Daniel and the miyagi do legacy his redempion has come full circle and he was the best character in S5
Notice how Kumiko specifically mentions the song dreams by the cranberries. That same song was featured in the film The Next Karate Kid (1994) the writers have not forgotten....
1 mistake Cobra Kai has ever made is not making Daniel and Kumiko a coupe... My one major complain. I like Amanda but the chemistry was instant with Kumiko and Daniel
Agree. They could have been the married couple in the Cobra Kai series. I could see them in sweet and comedic moments. Kumiko has strong character too like Amanda
Taking nostalgia aside Daniel would've been a sucker if he left the woman who bore his children and helped him build his empire for a woman that left him. After he fought to the death for her. Daniel has more honor then that. I think the writers got it right with that one
I love this..the whole storyline was brilliantly done and touch my heart and filled me with nostalgia and feels! Listening to Daniel broke my heart how he misses and feels lost without Mr Myagi. I hope he can find his balance again and it can be Chosen to help hom do that as his redemption arch.
Did anyone catch the subliminal "Dreams" reference when Kumiko was talking about The Cranberries? "Dreams" was kind of the theme song during Julie Pierce's training in "The Next Karate Kid".
"no one fought to the death for me" - I might be wrong but this line might be a call back to *SPOILERS* chozen's love for kumiko in season 5 since he technically did fight to the death with daniel for kumiko
Not really. Chozen fought Daniel to the death, but it was to because he felt Daniel dishonored him during that typhoon when Sato told Chozen "Now... to you I am dead!!!" not for Kumiko. If memory serves me correctly, Chozen backhanded Kumiko when Kumiko try to save & protect Daniel from Chozen in the KK2.
@@cesarcanete3402 You're right, Chozen's fight with Daniel was all about rage and a twisted sense of honor. If he had any feelings for Kumiko they were twisted by his arrogance and selfishness. From the clips I've seen he grew into a far better person and that is awesome.
True since there was a scene with Daniel, Johnny, Chozen and Barnes together. Now there needs to be one with Amanda with Ali, Kumiko and Jessica together.
@@GABRIELA-ACEVEDO. We've seen Ali and Amanda interacting. Now we've also learned that Jessica's connection was being her cousin Amanda's matchmaker to Daniel. So a simple interaction between Kumiko and Amanda will suffice.
@@NH1973 you could look at it that way but Chozen was disgraced/dishonoured by his uncle Sato during that storm in KK2. So that was why he sought revenge at the Obon festival and took Kumiko as hostage so he could fight Daniel. Also, some of us know already that even in KK2, Chozen had secretly liked Kumiko because there were a couple of times he interrupted Kumiko and Daniel’s sweet moments. It’s good to know that the present Chozen redeemed himself but imo Kumiko will not be as in love with him as he is with her. Kumiko will always treat him like a friend or a brother. Like in real life, Tamlyn said in an interview that they are like brother and sister, then as Yuji said in one of his interviews, they are each other’s agents. I don’t think Tamlyn would agree on a script that the writers will allow her character to be just a love interest of anyone and not much to her arc. What I would love to see for Kumiko as Tamlyn said before that her dream for Kumiko is to kickass. Now that would be the twist!
Kumiko appeared as a board member on the pilot of The Good Doctor when Dr Glassman was trying to get the board to hire Shaun but there she had an American accent
Brilliant show. I almost expected a romantic kiss between them, then I thought that would ruin it all. I hope this show continues for a few more seasons.
Seemed like these two should have ended up together. His wife's really cool but these two have something magical between them plus a past woven with people who loved them.
I think Daniel will go to bat for chozen and tell kumiko how chozen went above and beyond when he asked him to help fight cobra kai and was willing to risk everything including his life to make things right with Daniel.
Kumiko is basically saying now you can get Okinawan wisdom from 2 people. Yuna will take care of the business end and me and Chozen will take care of wisdom and confidence and Chozen will teach you more of Miyagi-Do.
Kumiko looks fantastic a true beauty, she is the reason I fell in love with Asian women. The eyes the hair, wow😊. The scene where she pull the clip from her hair and lets it down leaves me in awe takes my breath away every time I watch it.
I never really understood their relationship. Was it true love that they had in KK2? I don't think it was because she wouldn't have put her dream ahead of Daniel if she really loved him.She would've gone to California with Daniel and Mr.Miyagi and attend dance school there.
That's why Miyagi told Daniel to "Remember always... Focus" which he ended up rejecting the woman of his dreams and become the Grand-master on Miyagi's Dojo.
IT'S OFFICIAL🚨🚨🚨 A Fifth #KARATEKID installment, described as the return of the original franchise, is confirmed to be in development. The return of #RalphMacchio as #DanielLarusso is confirmed and the story will follow the facts already known in the original saga and in the #CobraKai series. It will be released on June 7, 2024 in theaters. 😍🎬
No. More like she couldn't find someone with the same kind of commitment that Daniel had for her. Finding someone who holds your life above their own is rare and precious.
No affair happens between them. It would have been completely out of character for both Daniel and Kumiko, so thanks goodness the writers didn't make that mistake.
At the time she had just been accepted to a dance school in Tokyo, hence why she didnt join him in America. She told him of her dream as a dancer in Part 2 but never imagined it would be a reality.
