Been following him since his cajun dance party days and then later yuck gosh he’s just so talented and always making the most amazing beautiful sounds!
I saw him perform in a pub in East Finchley when he was about 14 or 15, and was still relatively short. He was incredibly overconfident but certainly talented and precocious. I remember he got quite arsy with me because he didn't think that I was listening attentitively enough during his performance. He said something like: "why dont' you turn around and listen...". I was in such a good mood that evening that I was completely unaffected by his irritation. He and the group I was with then went back to the home of a mutal friend, where he and his friends -- who I believe were all from the same Jewish school, or at least part of the same Jewish social network -- sat in an upstairs room and smoked marijuana. I didn't talk to him at the house. I was surprised when he adopted the persona of the tortured artist because he seemed like the type of teenager who had had an extremely nurturing and stable homelife, but perhaps that wasn't the case.
Art. A performance to crawl over broken glass to see live. if anyone out there cannot appreciate or empathise with this work: then you are already dead. Haunting, beautiful, creative and technically brilliant.
I can't tell what is more hipster pretentious, the screeching sounds from that bow with the flowers tied to it, the overall performance, or your comment. Lololol.
Mr Blumberg is due to play live at Cafe Oto (Dalston) in July. I saw him there last week...what a performance. I would thoroughly recommend seeing him live.
Lyrics When I get unraveled by the bomb And I run and everyone runs And I'm dumb and everyone's dumb I long to live without it I long to live without it I long to live without it When I get unraveled by the bomb And I run and everyone runs And she's gone; left everything off I long to live without it I long to live without it I long to live without it Wherever I land I can't escape from the bang The back of her hand I can't escape from the bang I can't escape from the bang I can't escape... From the bang
Saw him live twice, Cafe Oto (Dalston) and another place in Brick Lane. Amazing. Wonderful music. (It doesn't matter he's my girlfriend's cousin LOL, I'm being honest)
