+charlie ireland the moment that hit the most was if you watch the video you can hear Connor saying "You did it Daniel". just hearing the innocence in his voice is enough to make you remember being that young again and cheering on your favorite superstars
+Markas Clark The fact he was severely concussed from the Usos double back superplex during the match and had no memory of anything after getting dropped until he was backstage showed that he was a wrestling machine by doing all that on instinct and also a guy who got out of the business at a good time.
+Il Sommo Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
+TheJellemaDilemma we didn't know edge was gonna retire, Daniel announced it before raw so people knew, edge came out as WHC and just said straight out I'm retiring
When did this become a compitition on who had a better retirement speech????, a wrestler just had to give up what he loves because his body won't let him do it anymore, we shouldn't be comparing on who had a better retirement speech, it's sad that both guys are gone, "nothing will touch edge's retirement speech" and "this is sadder" what a bunch of arseholes you guys are
My favorite Daniel Bryan moment has to be when the fans and him occupied RAW. That whole 10 minutes was just beautiful and to hear the support for him was so... Amazing. Daniel, thank you for everything you've done for this industry.
I started watching wrestling in 2005. And I did watch it until 2012. It wasn't a big deal for me. I didn't quite miss it to be honest. Early this year I hit depression really hard. Or should I say it hit me. It doesn't matter. So when I heard about Daniel Bryan's retirement I thought "oh, I used to know that guy, what happened to him?" I wanted to see people's reactions to his retirement and I found this video. This is the first video of WhatCulture I've ever watched. And you've guys have been with me ever since. Those long sleepless nights, the anxiety and sadness were suddenly gone. Needless to say I started watching wrestling again because of you guys. It's been a long journey already, and I feel that you guys are really important to me. I don't know where I'd be if I haven't found you. This is why I'm telling you this. I just wanted you guys to see the actual impact you can cause on someone's life. Thank you.
You need only remember the night after WM 30 when the crowd was Yes-ing so damn hard he could barely cut his promo. Then when they chanted "You deserve it!" he began to tear up. To this day that always gets me because you could see he was holding back tears when they chanted that. Genuinely the best RAW after WM monent ever. Thank you D-Bry. Thank you for the memories, and thank you for leaving a legacy. Yes! Yes! Yes!
+Jkin62 I was there at the Mercedes-Benz superdome and I'll always remember that moment. You could literally feel the electricity in that arena when he hoisted those championships up in the air. Very cool, memorable moment!
I stood 10 ft from Daniel Bryan when he won Wrestlemania 30. I kept the paper confetti that fell from the roof into my hoodie. It was beyond epic. YES! YES! YES! YES! we will miss you Danny Boy! #respect
My favorite Daniel Bryan memory is the triple threat match he had with AJ Styles and Seth Rollins for the WWE title at the 2017 Royal Rumble. It's crazy that Dave Meltzer had to invent a 6th star for that match.
I'd rather see him get a similar role to what Dusty used to do, help the rookies develop their character. If anyone knows how to sell their personality to a crowd it's DB. That's where his experience would benefit the company best.
I've been watching Bryan's retirement speech videos on here and until watching this video was feeling a bit sad. You've put a new perspective for Bryan that I'd never even considered. Thanks WhatCulture Wrestling, feeling a lot, well, hardly happier but definitely less sad about it now!!
It's such a shame he had to retire. He will be dearly missed! His retirement speech was so sad to watch. I wish him all the best in the future! YES! YES! YES!
Before he was anywhere near a world championship. Before he got over big with the "Yes'" movement. When he was just a talented midcarder, I was at a live RAW in which Daniel Bryan was in the opening dark match. During his entrance, he did his pose on the turnbuckle where he raises both arms while making the #1 sign towards the section of the arena I was sitting in. I stood up doing the same pose and he pointed right at me in acknowledgement. I had already been a fan, but with that simple gesture he became one of my favorites. So happy that he was able to go on to reach the top. We'll miss seeing you in the ring, D-Bry.
I was there last night, and then watched it on TV. You cannot describe the amazingly somber moment his speech was. You couldn't hear yourself chanting, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Wrestlemaina 30's main event was a disappointment. It should've been a triple threat match between Evolution with Ric Flair as special Referee. It was really a big waste and I doubt Batista is coming back again.
+Jamil Davis The Over The Limit match comes to mind for me too. The dueling chants from the crowd for Punk and Bryan had me grinning from ear to ear. Just, two of the best, wrestling on a WWE PPV for a top title. Was so great to watch.
All the moments were awesome but selected moments I loved are 1.Connor at wrestlemania 2.Daniel selected for No.1 Contender for Summerslam vs John Cena 3.EVERY OTHER SEGMENTS
truly honored and privileged to have been a witness to the YES movement. Great character, great personality, great in-ring chemistry, the list goes on! DB will be remembered by many for years to come
My favorite Daniel Bryan moment is from the live event in my hometown. Last year before Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan main-evented the live event in my city, and at the very end after he won the match, he looked at my and my sign and his face brightened. I'll always love that moment
I am an ALT over in Japan. During one of my "Do you like ___? Yes/No" lessons, the kids started chanting 'Yes!' I then immediately booted up a couple of RU-vid videos of ol' DB (Bray Cage match/in Kofi's face) and they thought he was THE BEST THING EVER. Needless to say, YES! chants are now a staple of my English lessons. Thank you, Daniel Bryan.
During another lesson, with the same class, I showed them Cameron vs Asuka in order to teacher them comparatives: "Asuka is stronger/scarier/crazier than Cameron.' That lesson was just about as over as Daniel Bryan was.
general lemonhead Actually not, I came up with this before I ever heard Grim say it. Well, you're probably not gonna trust me on my word, but what else can I do. :D
He was in my home state of RI when he broke away from the Wyatt family. One of the loudest yes chants ever. Wish I'd been there to see it live, but to know he was so close to home and that my cousin saw it live makes it very special to me.
That segment actually brought me to tears... I'm not much of a Daniel Bryan in the WWE fan in the indies I enjoyed him more since he could be free... But I digress that segment was awesome and it was well done.. #ThankYouBryanDanielson
+ShinxXRyu In hindsight, given what he end up finding out about his health with the severity of the concussions and seizures it's an absolute relief that WWE's doctor wouldn't clear him.
+Sairen the Metalhead The difference is Daniel Bryan is heeding the advice and recommendations of the doctor who diagnosed him with brain damage instead of continuing and endangering his health.
That was honestly the most depressing experience I've ever had watching an episode of anything WWE. Granted I wasn't a fan back when guys like Edge retired or when Eddie died, but this is probably the saddest simply because this sport is his favorite thing in the world and means more to him than anything. He could have had another 5-10 years of single handedly carrying this company through his sheer talent and personality. And it's gone because he got pushed too hard too fast and didn't respond well to the surgeries and his brain is getting really messed up. He should at least have one more match at Mania against Styles to officially end the legacy on a high note. No suicide dives, no swantons, no tables or chairs. Just a clean match to give him one last good memory of doing what he loves.
My absolute favorite Daniel Bryan moments were the 'Occupy Raw' part of the 'Yes!' Movement and the vignettes of him hanging out with Connor Micahlek during WM 30. He had such a great connection with the fans, it was like he was best friends with all of them.
you cant pick 1 favourite moment of Daniel Bryan. For the past 5/6 years he has kept us entertained and made us love wrestling even more than we already did. Thank You D-Bry, Im grateful for the greatest you have blessed upon us the past 5/6 years
seeing Daniel Bryan perform in front of me at wrestlemania 29 in New Jersey. when he and KANE were team help no and they beat big e and dolph ziggler for the tag titles
I will forever remember that night when I was watching RAW at home, and it kicked off with a celebration from Daniel Bryan... it was the first and only time I've heard a "YOU DESERVE IT" chant from the WWE fans. It quite honestly made me weep a few tears, because we al knew, he deserved it. #ThankYouBryan
I would have loved to see Bryan against Undertaker at Wrestlemania the guy made any match great. God imagine him versus Angle or Guerrero or Michaels or my lord Styles today
My favorite Daniel Bryan moment was getting to see him live at WrestleMania 29. It wasn't the biggest moment of his career but it's the only time I've ever gotten to a WrestleMania and feeling 70,000+ people chant YES was just a thrill for me
besides the obvious Wrestlemania moment at 30, I would have to say the Team No part of his time in WWE, it was so funny and original that I often look up the combo videos with all the classic promos on there. BTW Daniel Bryan has a lot more to give to the world of wrestling as Adam mentioned in his video. I am happy he is not going to push his body to the point where he could do more damage to himself and I wish him and Brie a great future together and possible make a New Yes-Man wrestler aka Daniel Bryan Jr :D
when i back to watch wwe at 2014 the biggest thing that make me say omg was see Bryan like main event at WrestleMania, just 5 years after his wwe debut and that is simply amazing, one of the greatest wrestlers of the pg era and history of wwe.#GRATITUDEFORYOUDANIEL
My idea was for Daniel Bryan to work as a sort of commissioner like Shawn Michaels was, foiling the Authority's dastardly plans, and it might actually help to get Roman Reigns over....
Daniel Bryan has given me so many moments it's tough to chose from. I loved his journey to the ROH world title, matches against Nigel McGuinness, his first NXT match vs Jericho. Watching him win money in the bank, his feud with CM Punk and his win at Wrestlemania 30.
Honestly one of my favorite DB moments and maybe one of the funniest moments in wwe for me was when during a match between him and Tyson Kid; Byran rolls himself up into a ball. It's in such a way Tyson can't pin his shoulders so he just rolls him around the ring for a minute. The crowd genuinely laughed and it was so entertaining for something so simple. The best thing about Bryan is he took wrestling seriously but, not too seriously. He knew how to entertain the fans on every point of the spectrum and he will be missed.
No offense but Daniel Bryan did seem like a "resurrection" of Chris Benoit. They were both over with the crowd, they had the same moveset and that underdog anti-authority babyface gimmick and finally they both won the big one at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. Like if u agree dislike if u don't.
Best memories of Daniel Bryan: 1. Hijacking Raw during Title Unification Ceremony in Seattle 2. Wrestlemania 30 3. Being the one who started the "That's what she said" chant during his retirement speech!
+Jonas Loh Daniel Bryan was a hell of a wrestler, in fact, his matches against Nigel McGuinness are about as intense and technical as a wrestling match can get. So full of energy and passion. BUT... Daniel Bryan sucked at promos, he got over because he was humble and a really good wrestler who couldn't seem to catch a fair break in the company. He didn't win people over with his words but with his struggle to get to the top of the company, something he never really got to do. But Daniel Bryan wasn't better at cutting promos than Reigns, fans just believed in him more and his words came off real as appose to being written for him. When you think of good promo guys you should think of like Raven, Jake Roberts, Shawn Michaels, Cactus Jack/Mankind, and if WWE would even let him speak for himself, Dean Ambrose can do a good promo. You should see his work as Jon Moxley for proof of that. But Daniel Bryan? No way was he a good promo guy. A great wrestler, but not a good promo cutter
+Joe Grace Daniel Bryan is decent at cutting promos. The thing is, its not his forte. If he was to teach guys how to cut promos, he'd grab Dean Ambrose and have him do the teaching.
Tumble Butt / Styx on Fire Exactly, and that isn't taking away from what Daniel Bryan is, or his contributions. But he has always let his wrestling do the speaking for him. When Daniel Bryan retired we didn't lose his words we lost his passion and that might be just as hard to replace. Mark my words though, this will mean that AJ Styles will become the new Indy Jesus in the WWE
+Oli Mercer I know right, they're completely different! One is an amazing technical wrestler and the other is overrated shit! And Benoit's the great technical wrestler.
For me, there are so many in-ring Daniel Bryan moments I could list as my favourite but ultimately, the man made me care about a wrestler, as a character and as a person, and made me want to watch wrestling. There's not many that do that nowadays.
If you look at a lot of the wrestlers now a lot of them are very sloppy. Daniel knew how to sell it in the ring and sell it to the crowd. Plus his whole story of being the underdog is amazing too. And yeah he's won every title besides women's and nxt. Only 6 wrestlers including him have done that.
Needed to rephrase comment due to multiple grammatical errors and shiz, so I'll break it down. Daniel Bryan was quite possibly the best wrestler of this generation, just not in WWE. He's been wrestling for 17 years since graduating High School and has become one of the most illustrious wrestlers in the independent scene and in companies Dragon Gate, NOAH, so on and so forth. In these companies he's brought them to recognition by winning the best technical wrestler of the year award from every wrestling journalist for 5-6 years in a row and has had a career only 4 years short of Benoit's. He's basically Benoit 2.0 without the sad ending and was pretty much one of the most over babyfaces with the PG audience. The moveset is similar to say the least but Benoit pretty much set the precedent for any wrestler in likeness to him, so there's little to no space of innovation or what could be done anymore.
Toe Cutter He hasn't wrestle that long in the wwe. They're still missing wrestlers in the H.O.F. Plus what do you mean by one of the most popular of all time? They're hundreds of most popular. Only difference is Daniel reign was too short. You're all just feeling sorry for him. So now i guess if anyone say they're retiring on wrestling then i guess they're in the H.O.F.
Ill Will Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk (multiple times actually) Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler from like 2010. Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness Daniel Bryan/Kane/Ryback vs. The Shield Bryan Danielson vs. Takeshi Morishima Daniel Bryan vs. Chris Jericho I think your problem here is that you simply don't know enough about his history as a wrestler and he absolutely is one of the greatest in-ring workers there's been, and is respected and revered by basically everyone. You need only look at everyone in the business who has commented on him talking about how important he's been to the business and how respected as a man he is. And with the Hall of Fame, the WWE doesn't necessarily just look at someone's career in JUST WWE, they take in to account their full body of work and their legacy, and Bryan more than qualifies on that basis alone. These probably aren't even a definitive "greatest" matches, they're just great matches. And it's not even mentioning great matches like his match with Cena, Batista/Orton, Sheamus, Orton etc.
My favorite moment from Daniel Bryan Danielson has and always will be the mania 30 win. I've been following him since ROH the battles with Aries Nigel and anyone who stood in his way and the say that he won the big one in my homestate and i was there live in person was amazing. A perfect ending to a wonderful career.
This brought tears, joy, sorrow, laughter, and so much emotion that when he was announced to return was surreal and just a gift from such a genuine human and all around amazing person.
Daniel Bryan did a local show in my town before he went to WWE. He wrestled Colin Delaney and Slyk Wagner Brown. The match was amazing and he did a whole photo/autograph session afterwords. He was amazing and great man. I wish him the best in everything he does next in his life.
my top memories are from his heel run with the wcw title. he kept getting by show and henry, then won that awesome chamber match and even helped end sheamus' career! then team hell no was great, forcing them to stop with the evolution shit was great.
Favourite moment would be when he won the WWE World Heavyweight championship at Wrestlemania 30, then he went out the ring to celebrate with Connor 'The Crusher'. That was such an amazing and an emotional moment that can never be forgotten! - ThankYouDaniel!
my favorite Daniel Brian moment was when he won 2 matches in 1 one at Wrestlemania XXX , because I was able to see him win the gold in my first ever time going to a Paper View
Mi favorite Daniel Bryan moment was the whole build up to wrestlemania 30 and when he went to Connor to hug him and told him"we did it Connor you helped me win"
This was not on TV. But at the 2009 Hall of Fame he was William Regal's guest. When they walked into the Toyota Center fans started chanting his name. He wasn't even signed at the time.
It's mad to think I was there for his last match. Tag match with Cena in London vs Cesaro and Kidd. It was such a good match, can't remember someone being so over. He will be missed.
My favorite Daniel Bryan moment is when he won the title at Wrestlemania 30. I watched the entire PPV with my dad and it was just so damn special when he won cause no one thought he would do it. I certainly didn't, at least. #ThankYouDanielBryan
