I got into his music because i like listening to “chill” “groovey” kind of sound. I also love his lyrics. Japanese Denim is my favorite of his, the lyrics gets to me. And yeah, Daniel Caesar’s music is not for everyone. If ever you’ve listened to his whole album, you’d notice that most of the songs has a mix of rock, alternative, r&b, soul, gospel.

His voice is raw, organic and unfiltered. Elements that can't be duplicated.

You guys are so very correct about his following . People really have to have a catch in that style and it's not for everyone . Daniel has a very unorthodox voice I would say in the RnB realm . I would put him more towards soul , he gives a groove and soulful expression which really is what his songs embody. As the artist behind the song I would give him credit , the beat is nice but he uses his voice to ride along side it very well which I think people can appreciate .

The look of disappointment on Ryan's face 😂. You could tell he really wanted it to be mind blowing. I do agree though, good song, but nothing that screams classic or greatness. Just a chill song with a chill vibe to chill to.

Honestly if he was powerhouse singing all over this shit it wouldn't sound good. This requires that smooth shit. And his falsetto is fire on this track.

I get the way you feel about Daniel Caesar but his talent doesnt reside in his voice its more about his writing and his musical arrangements, i've been a fan of his since his first EP's and he really is a musical genius. I'll mos def give it to you that his voice isnt mind blowing

I think that people are absolutely in love with his style and not so much his VOCALS. I love Daniel’s music and I listen to it faithfully but if you’re looking for an incredible vocalist, he’s definitely not the guy. So I 100% understand where you guys are coming from. Great reaction always 🙏💛 Please check out some Jhené Aiko (one of my all time favorite artists) preferably “Moments” ft. Big Sean or “While We’re Young” from her new album, she’s incredible.

It's sad you don't realize that vocals aren't everything. The bloody beatles didn't have great vocals but their lyrics, instrumentals, and the way they used the voice they had to perfection was why they were great. Not saying he's comparable with the beatles, but he has all the elements of a great R&B artist.

I honestly just love LOVE.. I think the really great thing is the resurgence of love in music again! Havent heard something so thoroughly romantic from a male artist in a LONG time! I hear what you guys are saying though as to why people may like him more for content and smooth sound over vocals

I like the way you guys distinguish between liking him as an artist and the genre because me personally I love his style the most just cause its different for R&B nowadays. Highly recommend Eric Bellinger- Be the Change. Vocally he is a powerhouse and he has been slept on for years!

I think this is one of those songs that doesn't need a huge amount of vocal ability to back it up. It's like the production and his vocals synergizes well with each other. If he did incorporate a high degree of vocal ability he may overwhelm the song and make it lose the vibe he created.

FINALLY. I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the song but I have a suggestion. Whenever you guys are finished with the song and ending the video you should both say if you plan on listening to it again because it feels a little empty at the end, like you listen to a song and then it's thrown into the abyss. ALSO I'd like to know if there's some way to contact either of you. Like a fan email or something a little more formal. Now it's time for my suggestion. I really want you guys to listen to Hozier.
