You should check out some D'Angelo, who has been a heavy influence on Daniel Caesar and Mac Ayres. Caesar's Japanese Denim is influenced greatly by D'Angelo's Untitled (How Does it Feel). Lemme also point out to add to his credibility, D'Angelo was a part of the "Soulquarians" along with Erykah Badu, J Dilla, Questlove, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli. He was once dubbed R&B Jesus, and the king of neosoul. I'd recommend you check out Lady, Brown Sugar, Untitled, Me and Those Dreamin Eyes of Mine, Really Love, and One Mo Gin. Your dad may also appreciate D'Angelo's great covers of old songs like Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin", and Roberta Flack's "Feel Like Makin Love". Your dad would also enjoy the fact that D'Angelo is friends with and have performed with Eric Clapton (search on yt for Sanborn and Friends - use me), and you might appreciate that Questlove has played drums for D'Angelo's 2nd album Voodoo as well as Pino Palladino, the bassist that was in John Mayer's trio. What your videos and the just astounding conversations in your videos , I have never seen anything more beautiful and positive in my life, I can’t stop crying at the way you 2 are so intensely bonded and just the bond and the compassion and I’m just omg overflowing with love and reevaluating how I want to approach this world and choose my words, I have never ever ever witnessed anything in my entire life that is this beautiful , the joy and love in both of your faces and the bonding over music this is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed.
