I don’t know who this is or what he was cancelled for but, when people apologize with general statements instead of specifics details oftheir wrong doings and subsequent lessons they learned, I don’t really believe they understand.
It's so touching to hear him say sorry. He seems very genuine. I learned of him being "canceled" about a year after it happened. His album sales reflected it because the album that came out around that time was GENIOUS and didn't get the credit or play it deserved.

Some would say he defended someone that some members of the black community thought was attacking/disrespecting/making a mockery of black women and using the black community ("appropriating" black culture etc) for her advantage. But imo, more than he defended her, he spoke his honest perspective about the behavior of the black community and people just didn't like what he had to say. Although I don't think the person that sparked the conversation on his end was well meaning or innocent, I also don't disagree with what he said (at that time especially) about the behavior of the black community as a whole. Ultimately what got him canceled was his arrogance towards the end of his statement where he said, "Go ahead and cancel me. I dare you. I dont care . . ." Etc and I paraphrase.

Your success is not only determined by your talent but also by the perception your fan base has of who you are as a person and how loyal and ride or die that fan base is. . . Daniel seems resilient though, I think he'll bounce back. You should definitely check out his new album, there are a couple of gems on there you may like.
