What an absolute trooper. To say he has had a tough life is an understatement. You just know he's an amazing father. Those kids must be so hurt, with the passing of their Mother.
Been with you for 40 years Dave, be with you for another 40. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Rosie. I lost a Rosie, too..... 😢❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😢
A good friend of mine is dating a close friend of Bob Reid, I was able to get my Violent Restitution album signed by Dave and Bob!!! It was such a great day, bless them for signing a vinyl from a huge fan! They also gave me a fully signed limited edition vinyl of Cycle of Contempt for free....... LEGENDS.
Great interview and as a fellow blind dude, I can relate to being treated differently. Altho in my own case, I'm totally blind from birth and yet, I can post or comment using my iPhone without any problems. I am also a guitarist and unlike him, I don't have anything on the fret board, because it isn't needed. Keep up the great work on the channel.
To be a Metal Legend you don’t need long Hair, you need a inspired Mind full of Amazing Metal Guitar Riff‘s! Dave Carlo got it all and more, hail to the King!
Love Dave Carlo. The man is a legend and a huge influence on me musically. Knowing what he's going through and that he keeps on playing music is massively inspiring. Thank you for everything Dave. 🤘
I like how he talks about writing and recording the new album. That mentality he has of not going out of his way to recreate the past and just trying to write music that makes him happy is something I wish more older bands would do. If I want to hear a band sound like they way they used to, I'll go back and listen to the old records. I just want a band to make good music.
I really like Canadians. You guys usually have such a great attitude. We suck in my country and generally have a shitty, overly sensitive and aggressive mentality . This dudes a metal legend and is so cool. Great job Mistah Dekay!
This interview is as great reminder for ppl how good you have it…how attitude is everything….and how we can all be better. Seriously moved and inspired by his story attitude and gracefulness through everything he faces
Loved this. Razor are legends. I would bet they were the first ever crossover punk-metal thrash band. I saw a punk chick in their Evil Invaders video - that must've been so daring in 1985 for a metal band. Love and respect to Dave - a survivor.
Dave Carlo is amazing!!! Awsome interview! Here in Brazil we use to joke about been "nutella" or "roots"... Dave Carlo is absolutely ROOOOOOOTS! F@CK THE SYSTEM!
Wow, thank you for this Interview! I‘m from Germany, I play guitar for 40 years too, the Guitarist‘s that me inspired was „Dave Carlo, Cuck Schuldiner (Death) and Mike Scarcia (Rigor Mortis)“ Dave is the last on my list and the only one that still alive. I never hear him talk in his own words! I never hear a word why Sheepdog has left…Sheepdog was Amazing for RAZOR, it is sad to hear why he left…but myself know this difference‘s between yourself and other‘s. When you try to be honest and a fair guy and try to do the good things, …yeah, some of your „Friends“ STAB YOU IN YOUR BACK“ …that is life, and it hard to work with this situation‘s in life. I found in that way a force, around me, some call it God, but God is a Word for the Unknown, in my opinion. And I see and hear this force in Dave Words! It is a Personal thing, it’s a feeling, really hard to explain, so anyone of us interpret this force in a other way AND in his own feeling, he feel it. We life on a pass way and we left and we see people left…Heart Mates left, Mother and Father left…the day come and you face it, you look into it, eye to eye…and you have a choice and your feeling, „What a person you will be, choose your way“, it works inside and sometimes we past too, how we will past, Sick or Healthy Inside, I mean the Feeling, is it Disgusting of all, or we are in peace with it? We have to come to peace, with our self…and give this peace further! That’s my opinion. I believe that Carlo found this piece, I believe I hear that peace in his words, I wish him he found that peace, I believe he found! And the same I hope for this children and family! PS, I buy as import your Custom Killing Album and I still got it! Your Guitar Style is once and outstanding…so much songs, and anyone have a new Killer Riff… I Love your „Malicours Intent“ Album….Night Attack, or A.O.D. …Iron Hammer, or Thrashdance, are soooo great Songs, but I love all your Songs, Decibel is weak you right, but any Band have a weak Album 😅 I love what you have done Dave Carlo! I want to hear more Words, Story’s maybe when you inside Studio and Stuff like that, Cheers Mate!
I wish an interview with old razor singer, stace mclaren aka sheepdog, what happen to him and his insane (literal) vocal range sing technique, what a beadt, unmarchable
Fantastic. I'm glad I stumbled across this. I remember the night Evil Invaders was filmed. Me and a couple of buddies were having a good time in Larry's Hideaway and then suddenly there's a bright light coming down the stairwell! Venom, Slayer, and Razor in the Masonic Temple off Bloor was my second ever concert. Been a Razor fan a long, long time.
Damn, Dave. On the off chance you ever read this, I'll drop a few sentences here. As someone who has (undiagnosed until recently) ADHD + Autism and just lost my dad a few months ago, I'm really sorry to hear about your wife passing. I'm so happy to hear that you treat(ed) your kids with the love and respect many of us with these challenges don't get whether it's due to ignorance or any other factors. I've already considered Razor's body of work in the absolute upper echelon of all music ever since hearing you when I was around 15 years old and even got to see you on stage during one of the Keep it True festivals in Germany a couple of years back. I immediately got the impression you are a genuinely caring and empathetic guy from your on-stage talk alone. I'm glad to hear I wasn't just making a silly incorrect assumption about someone I don't even know personally. You've been one of my absolute biggest inspirations for me musically-heck, I even have old guitar covers of Miami, Enforcer and even a clip of my band playing the latter live uploaded on my channel to prove it-and your music has empowered me both to push the boundaries of my own creativity as well as on a personal level. It's actually almost funny to compare how ferocious and aggressive your music is to what a caring person you seem to be, but maybe that's exactly what drew me to your music in the first place since I'm the same way. I hope you get all the recognition and support you deserve both as a musician and in your personal life.
Dave is so amazing Razor has been a huge influence in my life so many killer memories from the early 90’s at their shows in northern Ontario. I love the new album which sure does take me back to the good days when life was easy we were kids with no worries in the world. Thank you Dave for all the memories you helped us Sudsbury kids make with Razor blasting in a ghetto blaster or big house system.
Razor is amazing, i got two of their vinyl records - Open Hostility (my favourite) and Violent Restitution. When i listen to Razor, so does my neighbours :D
He's really well spoken, awesome band but I gotta say... They're not much these days with no Sheepdog.. Sorry Carlo but Razor really stood out with his unique voice and your killer riffs
I love it when older musician acknowledges that 1985 was not the best production and sound quality wise. So thank you for mentioning that it's unrealistic to expect the same sound from 30+ years ago.
All the bands I used to like are going down the drain What the hell has happened here, have they gone insane? I used to think that heavy bands ignored the current trends But once you've been in rolling stone you learn about your friends -- Razor - Stabbed In The Back
