*Trevor Lawrence is the #3 quarterback in the NFL? Nick Wright continues to be the dumbest person on television. Stop smoking bones the size of telephone poles.*
Fun fact Daniel Jones best target in his career is an aging Golden Tate ages ago, and never hard an offensive line better than bottom 5, never had a WR room better than bottom 10, and this was his first year with a competent OC and HC
@@jacobbeasley1965 You clearly haven't been paying attention to the Giants GM over the past decade. The Giants are notorious for overpaying bad players.
@@joshuarojas9574 that’s surprising. i’m too lazy to check but i’ll trust you. that’s not indicative of everything. i’d like to see the qb hits and sack numbers and i’m sure reviewing the ALL22 would be smart but regardless. being pressured that much isn’t helpful for qb production or development. i don’t think he’s bad but this may give him more credit in my rankings now. still he’s too high on this list.
only rzn i say he’s still not that high, is because we haven’t seen a super productive szn even without a star receiving option. i got no evidence that one would elevate him yet. possible but not guaranteed.
It's easy to say Daniel Jones isn't elite but he did rank 6th in QBR based on his skills last year. He was throwing to practice squad players and 5th rounders. He's never had a full team of talent the whole year and still performed great. He also had over 700 yards rushing and 7 tds on the ground (virtually the same as Josh Allen). Most importantly, he was clutch in close games. You cannot deny that. He had 5 4th quarter comeback wins. I believe in Daniel.
@@undertaker12367can’t throw ? Too bad statistically he is top 3 most accurate . I know it’s sucks to be wrong but just say you don’t watch him and move on
I'm a Giants fan but I'd put him right outside the top 10. People who don't watch the Giants wouldn't see how good he actually is. He's extremely accurate, can throw the deep ball on point, oh and he can run. He had like 700 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs.
A giants fan would love to see this guy be a top 10 QB. But we have to pump the brakes. He's shown he can contribute to team success. He has not shown he can carry a team.
Greg is Spot on straight up what Jones did last year with limited talent around was very impressive let alone no great Wrs around him. His efficiency was crazy
People are really disingenuous when they talk about Toney on the Chiefs, they talk like he went there and became wide receiver 1. He has already missed time with the Chiefs like he did with the Giants and most of his yards are on Special Teams; he's literally injured right now.
@@theclutchxgawdbut nick repeats it over and over again like there wasn’t a reason the giants got rid of him and acts like it’s a knock on DJ that toney is never healthy.
@@theclutchxgawd you're lying to yourself. Nick literally said "He'll never do anything in this league unless he got with a real QB. Oh wait he scored a touchdown in the Superbowl". 16 catches for 171 yards in the regular season and 7 catches for 50 yards in the whole of the Chiefs post season. He literally has more receiving yards with the Giants than the Chiefs still and he barely played with the Giants.
@adrian-paulbrathwaite5338 Nah you 100 percent correct. I thought the same thing when Nick said that. Totally disingenuous to make Jones look bad because Toney was never on the field, not his fault at all. Toney is a glass cannon
No one in the league did more with less than this kid. 2nd season with this coaching staff. Feel confident he will be great this year and even better the next.
All those QBs except Jones literally have 1 thing in common. They all have a reliable WRs to throw to. Jones had practice squad WRs and every week it’s a different lineup.
The only thing DJ is top 10 in is probably pay, other than that no way. And Greg having him over Dak should be a crime. Dak gets so much hate because he plays for the Cowboys it honestly makes me sick.
@@skillethead15 dak also gets too much praise cuz he plays for the cowboys. Dude literally is the black kirk cousins. If he goes back to running and stops throwing pick sixes he'll be ranked higher.
@@mrmack1988You just proved my point exactly. Dak’s career interception percentage is tied with Joe Burrow even after his last anomaly year. But yet you act like he’s been throwing crazy picks his whole career. And he does get credit, all he gets is hate from people like you and even Cowboys fans.
Elite qbs in the nfl throw for 5000 yrds. That being said, the weapons argument means nothing behind that atrocious offensive line. Going under center for the giants was suicide last season
I can say Jones is definitely in the top 14 of QBS in the 22-23 season. Going forward he has to continue to make smart decisions and command his offense.
@@mintfloss15 because that's not the intent of my statement. Only 14 QBs made it to playoffs last season. If I wanted to say he was 14, I would have duuuh
Toney averaged like 2 catches for 20 yards a game with the Chiefs. Let's not act like he's a good WR now because he got traded to an elite team that would've gone to the Super bowl without him. Oh and, surprise surprise, he's "hurt" again in training camp. I'll take Waller for him any day.
D. Jones easy a top ten QB. Not only did he not have a WR core, but for years has had the worst Offensive line in the league. The fact that so many variables are ignored that make a player successful in this league, is mind boggling. Jones will silence his critics this year.
Thank you, thank you thank you. Everyone is so quick to blame Dimes but never take into account of the lack of receivers, o line play or CONSISTENT COACHING. Jones has improved every year and has turned the ball over less and less
And the fact that his numbers are not too far off from jalen hurts numbers last season, doing that with a #30 oline + wr core , just imagine what he could do with just a top 5 ranked oline + wr core
Wtf are you saying did you see Kirks last play of the game. You fools don’t know foot ball Danny been throwing 10 yard passes all season Kirk threw a dud and couldn’t get the ball to a 1st down hush your mouth
maybe not, the vikings defense was horrible last year. Kirk had to outscore teams most of the season because of it. The giants looked their best on offense when daboll had giants offense geared by the run game and barkley was the real catalyst to offense. Daniel jones to me is a pretty good game manager. 15 tds and 5 interceptions for only that few pass tds is a high interception rate and low pass td rate. Even davis mills had more tds. Daniel jones is a middle of the pack starting qb
@@miamiman24 i get all that but I’m saying kirk cousins is not doing what Daniel Jones did in that game if you put Kirk cousins in his spot. I get the Vikings defense was bad but Kirk cousins isn’t carrying the ball 17 times for 78 yards like Daniel Jones did in that game
Daniel Jones' passing numbers (Rate 92.5; 5 INTs) in his first year with Brian Daboll are better than Josh Allen's passing numbers (Rate 67.9, 12 INTs) in his first year and (Rate 85.3; 9 INTs) second year with Daboll. It was Diggs who made JA elite, shooting his Rate to 107.2. Jones has Waller, Hyatt, and Saquon.
You’re comparing Allen’s first 2 years in the nfl to Daniel jones 4th. It’s not comparable. Jones has had time to adjust, Allen did not. Jones went to a good college, Allen did not. Not to mention that josh Allen still had more tds in his 2nd year than jones did in his 4th year
Comparing a veteran to a guy who wasn’t even supposed to start his rookie year doesn’t make much sense. Josh Allen may as well be from a different planet than DJ. Don’t compare elite freak of nature athletes with corn hole players.
@@sethharris1894 bro, Allen was a bust for the first 2 years...until Daboll fixed him...Allen didn't have multiple coaches didn't have Jason Garret...he's an analyst now, he's not even in the league no more...
@@Twiist585 Trevor Lawrence. He had three players other teams didn't want. And if you're questioning Lawrence's eliteness, he gave Kirk, Jones, and Engram career years all in the same season. If he didn't spread the ball and focused on one receiver, that receiver would have made the pro bowl.
@khy0014 I meant Greg Jennings, in reference to that old Madden video, haha. But yeah, Saquon is critical to that offense and should've been paid as such.
@@JWD1992 that's why daniel jones is not a top 10 qb. He's a pretty good game manager, he needs a strong running back to allow him to do anything passing. A good running game is good for any qb, but top qb have the offense run through them, Mahomes, burrow, herbert, allen, lawrence, tua and goff were running the offense more with passing
Better than Dak, Kirk, Tua, Goff, Carr, Geno, Brock, maybe Russ now that he has Payton and even Stafford only 1 year removed from winning the Super Bowl is way too much to ask. All those guys have arguments over Daniel. Just because he hasn't had elite receivers doesn't automatically mean he would be great if he did.
He can be the best ever. Can doesn't win football games. With a great running game Jones didn't even give you 1 TD a game. Sure, he played the Vikings twice and look great. Name a QB didn't look great against the Viking last year?
Jones including rushing had 3900 yards 22 tds to 5 turnovers. Thats why he is top 10 at the moment imo. Id honesly ttake dak off the list for goff. Dak has had everything he needs to win since becoming a starter 7 years ago and only had 2 play off wins. Id replace dak with goff on my top 10 list.
Everybody got a short memory!!! They forget when Dak had no receivers and was struggling so they had to trade a 1st after like 3 games to get Amari cooper. He’s alway had an elite O-line, Zeke, Witten, Dez Bryant, Amari, and now Lamb
Greg made more of an argument for Daniel Jones to be underrated than he made one for him to be top 10. Most of his argument was "Daniel Jones hasnt had anything around him" which is fine but thats not an argument for him to be top ten lol. Stats, playstyle, accomplishments, talent, he just caped for his bad situation the whole segment lol
He made both arguments. You can't have od stats or accomplishments without serviceable receivers. What you can see is that he, along with saquon, dragged that squad to the playoffs. Then he went out and beat a quarterback that most people would say is better than him, who is also throwing to the best wide receiver in the league. Why can't he be top 10?
@@lucasmartinez5703 his name will be on that list constantly...get used too it.. he has poor work ethics...his style of running is gonna make him injury prone...
Greg Jennings knows whats up... Daniel Jones will be elite this season. Finally consistent coaching with a good front office. Finally some weapons for him to work with. Finally patching that O line that has been sorry for years now. He won a playoff game last year. He has done more with less than many other QBs that some would consider better than him. You know Nick Wright does not watch Giants games because Danny actually throws a good ball and accuracy is one of his strengths the stats back it up...
the guy is a good game manager. He played his best ever when the game was geared mostly from barkley. His accuracy and decision making is still spotty. I just seem him not ever being better then middle of the pack starting qb
@@miamiman24There is no way you watched him play last year. It's a reason why us Giants fans support him so much. He had countless plays where he literally had to put the team on his back and make something out of nothing.
@@silvershadow8405 he has only 2 regular season games or over 300 yards passing and that was against worse in the league Vikings and bad lions defense. Then of course the 15 passing tds as said. Davis mills even had more passing tds . 5 interceptions is pretty high too when a qb only gets 15 passing tds .
Out of all the QB's on that top 10 list - How many of them could actually be better than Daniel Jones without a top level wide reciever ? That alone could say alot about wether DJ belongs on that list.

Greg has a good point. Most the time you put a qb in the situation Daniel Jones is in they’ll be labeled a bust and go from team to team and have different coaches throwing them all off. But not Daniel Jones he has done more with less.
Kirk had the best WR in the league and a pro bowl TE and still looked worse than DJ, Deshaun looked straight cooked out there, and Russ was a bottom 3 QB, then Dak was trash but I expect him to be better but there is a very easy argument for DJ over any of them
@@bull2439there is absolutely no argument for him to be over any of them unless he can prove to replicate his season with better stats. @@bull2439 you want to make excuses to prop up the giants qb. Goff went to a Super Bowl and has shown he can be great. Jalen just went to the Super Bowl and took a massive leap showing he is easily a top 10 qb. Dj, although he can easily take a huge leap and prove a lot of people wrong, had a very average year. Yes we all get he ran for 700 and 7 tds, but this is a passing league. You aren’t going to win a lot of games barely averaging a td a game and only having 15 in a season. His stats need to improve before we can start anointing him top 10 status.
@@Burzum831 look up DJ and Hurts stats then compare them side by side, Hurts obviously has better numbers but not by crazy margins and when you account for hurts having the best oline in the league, 2nd best supporting cast AJ, Devonta, Dallas, and Miles, and the best defense in the league that consistently gave him the ball back quickly, compared to DJ having the 30th ranked oline by pff, bottom 3 receiving weapons and a defense that was solid but was last in the league in interceptions, ya DJ had a great year and if he had Hurts weapons he would’ve made the superbowl too. Jones did that, his leading receivers last year were Darius Slayton and Richie James. And he literally led his team to the playoffs and got a playoff win. This after 3 different head coaches and little to no offensive line.
@Twiist585 Tom Brady for like 10 years.. it all depends on what you define as elite. I'd argue Trevor Lawrence doesn't have an elite weapon. Donovan McNabb for years only had James Trash and Todd Stinkton. There are alot of top 10 QBs that elevate the play of their receivers. Dimes ain't one of them. @@Twiist585 First, Daniel Jones has an elite pass catching RB, let’s stop acting like this man is out here like Justin Fields (who played less games and still had more tds) with no RBs, no WRs, no TEs, no coach and no line. Second, Jones is not elite by any iteration of the word, an elite QB can not have less TDs than games played, so Greg’s argument was absolutely silly. And I can definitely name Lawrence who is elite compared to Jones who doesn’t have a true number 1 and who also has Jones’ old TE Engram, who magically became a top TE at times with him. Third I can point to dudes who have played at elite levels with no names at skill positions. Manning with Griff Whalen and Austin collie, Brady with Reche Caldwell and some UPS drivers, Lamar with Willie Snead and Miles Boykin as his receivers won MVP, Newton won MVP with Kelvin Benjamin and random rec league dudes at receiver.
