@Bleu Z There's more than one type of handsome. Just because YOU don't find him handsome, doesn't mean others can't. Who made you the gatekeeper anyway lol
I couldn't click fast enough. I so like Daniel's interviews. He's the epitome of realness and he's amusing and very confident too. Such a talented fellow...
Hold up! You should listen to his interview on 'The Read' completely different energy, and beautiful transparency! It's on their podcast, not the tv show. You can listen anywhere, but seriously the difference 😱
@@rashad123us I've NEVER said Costco wrong... because I can read a sign. I bet those people say "Reesee's" peanut butter cups, when it's Reese's (and they even have TV commercials pronouncing it correctly). Hoda Kotb? Do you hear me Hoda Kotb? Maybe it's because that she's a professional news-person that it chaps my ass so much when she mispronounces a national brand (and sometime ad-buyer) on national TV...
You should listen to his interview on 'The Read' completely different energy, and transparency! It's on their podcast, not the tv show; you can listen anywhere, but seriously the difference 😱 You can skip ahead to his part, about 45 minutes in!
Stephen has always struck me as having kind of just below the radar racial weirdness that about all old white dads have - the kind that manifests in thinking it's ok to correct a colloquialism like Costco's so bluntly, and that makes his interviews with poc who pick up on, and don't just bridge the weirdness, flat. Daniel saw it and was like playing with it, and it fucked Stephen UP
@@danielbrown1724 Maybe, but I as an American, have never heard of "Sainsbury" or whatever it's nams is until now. But I HAVE Heard of Tesco's. A lot actually.
Bruce Leroy Bruce Leroy are you kidding me right now? Kaluuya is gorgeous. He always has been🔥. Oh let me guess, *because he doesn’t have coveted aryan features, he can’t possibly be attractive.* GTFOH...
@Bruce Leroy TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. STOP HARASSING THIS WOMAN. GET HELP FOR THE UNHAPPINESS THAT YOU FEEL AND ARE PROJECTING ONTO OTHER PEOPLE. STOP SPREADING NEGATIVITY. LIVE AND LET LIVE.
@@disanthropi Same here. Costco is just Costco. I've always called Kroger just Kroger. Aldi on the other hand is Aldis and many others have that added possessive apostrophe and "s". I'm from south central Ohio, so I wonder how it differs from specific regions of Ohio.
As someone that's lived in Ohio most of my life, adding an 's' to the end of store names is one of the most common occurrences. My own mother does it, but she was born here. At my old job, one of the things I remember most was a customer thanking me for not adding an 's' when I was talking about Kroger, and Meijer because it was a pet peeve of his when people would do that.
To me the most fascinating about this interview is he v did nearly the exact same interview on British TV and because it's their country that accent joke went over 1000 times better
Those weren't microaggressions. That was Stephen taking the piss. Do your homework, Daniel's first ever late-night talk show appearance was on LSSC when Get Out came out. And if you listen to this interview: Stephen interviewed Daniel before the movie even came out, and it was a movie with two black leads that most mainstream talk shows wouldn't be first to promote.
The guy is masivly talented. From his work in "Get Out" & "Black Panther" to his brief roles in "Widows" the guy can turn it on. Range for days. Looking forward to his staring role in this film. Hadn't heard about it till now....
Totally.....he gets it from his mom. He tells the story where mom said she had to go along now, leaving the racial bias person standing there. It’s the way we should all be. Pick up your stuff and leave. We don’t have time for this.
British people do this all the time: I'm going to Tescos I'm going to the doctors I'm doing to the dentists I'm going to the greengrocers I'm going to the neighbours I'm going to Marks & Spencers I'm going to Sainsburys etc
That is hilarious. We literally make everything plural. That’s hilarious and I love how he’s like you get paid $38 on Sunday so you are full of yourself. Lol 😂 soooo true
It’s really depressing to hear the (lack of) reactions the audience gives on the Scottish Accent story and the part on acting advice compared to the Graham Norton show. It’s really like living in two different worlds. Makes me wonder why our sense of humor here in America isn’t as witty as the UK.
Correcting a person's english or grammar in public/social conversation is very disrespectful . It's better to let it slide and let it go unnoticed, which it usually does rather than make a laboured point of it. People should only correct children like this, in order to teach them about speech, language etc. Don't do it to adults in front others..... only in private discourse.
Yeah, we add an s to certain store names, but not all. At least here in Northeast Ohio. Target, Giant Eagle, Wally stay normal, but Meijer and Aldi ends up with an s at the end. 😅
As an Ohio native, I am very proud of this guy for adding an "s" to Costco. Now, we just need him to talk about drinking Pop (soda) while he runs the sweeper (vacuum cleaner) and he'll fit in perfectly!
