@@sonnix31so what? She still plays tennis better than about 100 other women in the world. Her legacy is so important and so valuable to the game. The doors she has opened and the opportunities she has created for untold numbers of minorities cannot be ignored. Why should she not receive wild cards when she is still a major public figure and tournament draw card? She can play and do whatever she wants for as long as she wants. It’s really not for you to cast judgement on that decision.

My warmest congratulations to Danielle for her excellent performance at this tournament. Elena is my favorite tennis player. Unfortunately, I have never seen her so painfully tired. I think that this is due not only to the difficult tournament schedule but also to some health problems that she needs to think about and pay attention to.

I think Rybakina needs to work on her ground strokes or volleys. Too many unforced errors. Rybakina has one of the best serves on womens tennis but half the games the opponent serves so she needs to work on winning points when shes not serving.
@tennisobserver995
@tennisobserver995 2 месяца назад
She has the best 1st serve in women's tennis and no one is even close. It's the rest of her game that are only slightly better than average which keeps her from winning matches quickly.

Dany played liked a boss today . Rybakina did nothing wrong regarding her game . She had a good game plan : Solid serve , and made her opponent move around the court as much as possible . Didn’t choke . Unlocked her killer instinct when she needed to and kept her fighting spirit when she needed to . A well deserved title. I was rooting for her , and I’m glad she got this title right before retiring . Good for her 🙂

lol no rybakina has so many enforced errors, more than 40 and less than 30 winners

@@deusexmachina9776 lol yes. That’s what happened when you make her move side to side around the court . She has the tendency to become nervous and hit tones of ue. That’s one of her weaknesses .

@@chay2033 Rybakina has done better than this on the move for most of this year. The Rybakina that has to stay in the middle of the baseline to win matches is gone but in this tournament she didn’t know her limitations after being sick for so long so she played a little more conservative than she has in Brisbane and Abu Dhabi and Doha. Once she starts playing tournaments in succession again and starts practicing regularly again we will start to see the Rybakina that won Brisbane without dropping a set again.
@tennisobserver995
@tennisobserver995 2 месяца назад
@@deusexmachina9776 let me give you the exact numbers of winners/unforced errors for both: Collins- 24 winners, 37 UEs. Rybakina- 27 winners, 41 UEs. Therefore, Collins was at -13, and Rybakina was at -14. You're making it seem that Rybakina was playing very bad and Collins was playing very good. What this stat tells analysts is that Rybakina was trying to end points quickly more than Collins because she didn't have much energy in the tank. No disrespect intended to you.

I thought exactly the same, the difference here is that Aryna does it on a shot basis (I hate it!), it’s consistent, unfortunately, so it cant be labelled as a hindrance by the referee but Danielle started to do it end of first set … I watched her playing 3 tournaments ago and I’d never heard her grunting, only end of first set at a point where had it gone to Elena, the match might have turned out more difficult for Danielle … same pathetic trick of Andy Murray

First off, I'd like to congratulate Danielle Collins for achieving her greatest win ever. Even if this will be the last trophy she'll ever hoist before she retires at the end of the year, she had already won a tournament which some of the great, great players have not ever won. I'm a full-blooded man, but had to shed some tears during the trophy ceremony because I empathized with her humble beginnings and how much this win means to her and her career. Great win, Danielle. You deserve it, girl. Go get that first slam and complete your WTA tour trophy set.

Her arthritis is likely to mean no, she won't reconsider, especially as she wants children too, but tennis players often regret retiring early, so it wouldn't surprise me if she decides to come back.
