Fun trivia i learned when i went i did my military service. 1 reason why they also call it rewards and not punishments for not being one time or whatever is also in small part that in the danish military only the military police is allowed to punish a soldier in a legal sense. At least my commanding officer told us that to keep it simple and avoid confusion, they refrained form using the term punishment. Another fun trivia is that only 1 basic military education in the danish army (im excluding all special forces) requires you to do service after you are done. That is the course for military pilots, you agree to have 10 years of service after your education, because its the only one you can't do in Denmark completely. Like the frogmen you have to go to the U.S.A to get freefall an other such training so the cost of a pilot education for the state is a lot higher so they want return on investment from years of service.
