You are so positive and having lost 60lbs in 2019 I have put on 3or 4 lbs during holidays and.gone back on SW when I’ve retuned. It is constantly pulling back as you are doing and well done for doing that. Nothing to feel guilty about a few pounds but so worth it to get it straight back off

It's good to hear your words. I've just had my husband and mine joint Birthday party this weekend. I'm expecting a gain at group on Wednesday, lots of chocolate for presents . Really hard to get back in mindset. Thanks for talking us through . Xx😘

Glad you had a lovely holiday. You must be so proud you had such a small gain. So good that you got straight back on the SW plan. I must admit that I tend to keep saying I'll get back on track tomorrow and before I know it I'm a week on after the event and still not back on track. Then I'm embarrassed, stop going to group and then the whole thing falls apart. It's easily done. You can be motivated by your next trip now. Thanks for coming on and doing a video, even though you must be tired. All the best. Shell X

Hi Shell, lovely to hear from you! Thank you so much. I had a lovely break away and the gain probably was much worse than +2 but I did get back on it when I came back and thankfully, I was able to do some damage limitation! Hoping to lose this week (2lb would be ideal this week and next) before I go away. Fingers crossed! You shouldn’t feel embarrassed, try to think about all of the positives of keeping going, regardless. It’s the continuing aim to get to your goal which is worth much more than you think! Well done on getting atraight back on plan Denise. Im the same when on holiday, off plan food okay for a few days then im back on it! Youre so right your taste buds do chsnge. I craved crusty bread with lots of Lurpak for just under a year, when i reached target, I had it and actually didn't enjoy it at all 😂 thankfully! Keep doing what you're doing, Maggie xc

I don’t crave it, but know what you mean when it just isn’t the same as you remember! I’m hoping for a 2lb loss this week if possible. Hi to you both, so pleased you enjoyed your trip, Gosh you did have a late night. so much of what you said resonated with me. Even after 5 years of doing SW I still have an issue with going off plan and eating the wrong things. (99% of the time it is the evenings) I am 1lb over my target now and that includes the 3lb allowance. We did go out for a meal on Friday and it was not in any way shape or form SW 🤣. Like you I felt every uncomfortable the past week or so and just like you got back on it yesterday. It is as hard sometimes when you get to target as when you are trying to get there. I had a great day yesterday with three lovely meals and only 6 syns. Not drinking red wine has helped enormously 🤣. My best friend is coming on Thursday and we have a night away, we only do this once a year and whilst I will be mindful of what I eat I am going to enjoy myself. It isn't easy is it ?? I will weigh in a week next Thursday and see how I have done. You are so kind in everything you say and I know you are of help to many, including me so thank you very much 🥰, have a great week and take care xxx

Hi Kim! Thanks so much for being so honest with me about your own struggles at times. The evenings are the worst time for me if I am ever feeling likely to want to eat more. I try to snack on cold meats and berries if I want to eat, or low calorie crisps for 3 syns! I’m so glad to hear that you’ve been out and enjoying some lovely food. Life is for living and good food is very much part of that experience isn’t it? Well done for getting back on it, and I am sure that any extra and unplanned weight will be gone before you know it - I’m not a drinker but do know that wine is high in syns! Thank you for continuing to support me. I always know you’ve got my back! Always here for you if I can help at all 🩷 xxx

Thank you for the video. I'm exactly 1 year from when I started. I've lost 85 lbs. 🎉 I'm stuck at 175, though. I leave on vacation next week. I'm going to get super serious when we get back. It's our 36th wedding anniversary, like you, I want to enjoy every second. We are doing a lot of walking, though!🎉 Will you do a packing video again, please for your new trip? I would love it! You no what you said at Christmas .. life is for living and your right as long as you are back on it you get it back of I was 19 stone 11 when I joined and am 16-11 now I lost the 1 1/2 I put on so hopefully I will be ok this thank you for all the help and support you give us all it’s much appreciated. ❤

Denise I am up and down like a yo yo. I use food as a comfort infact I just love eating!! At least with slimming world I eat a lot but mostly the correct foods. I am at target weight now,but maintaining this is HARD work. I feel like just giving up sometimes,then I think about what I felt like both physically and psychologically when I was at my heaviest. This is a battle that I will always have to fight. But I am like you and just can’t give up,not now I have come this far. You take care Denise. Look forward to your next video and your next weigh in, because I know you will lose the weight you have gained, because you are not a quitter xx ❤from a Geordie subscriber 🇬🇧

I did use food as a comfort, but I have worked on it for almost a year and I’m glad to say that I feel in control. I’ve had very few issues with binging and I can and do need to stop myself, but the win is that I can and do! I never would have been able beforehand. I’m so privileged to share my journey with you and I appreciate we appear to think and act similarly. It always will be a battle and I always say that food is the worst addiction to have. We can’t live without it, we can buy it and even access it every hour of the day, it’s not illegal but obesity is frowned upon and there is significant stigma there. Societal education and support is needed! Xx

The memories you will have made Denise will live with you forever the weight gain is part of living and you now have knowledge and drive to keep moving forward and will get to your target you won't be going back to your start weight in future as that is your past. I achieved my 1 stone loss for my Birthday last week and was so pleased all be it it took me full 14 weeks to get there but like you I know that is it gone it won't be coming back but accept that I will have gains and maintains as, a large amount of weight to lose but heck it will be worth it. I am so glad your holiday weight loss will fall back into place big hug x

What I think you appreciate is that we as a species have evolved to eat food if it’s there especially delicious food so that in times of famine, we have something to feed off our bodies. Once you get into that mindset you realise that for many of us it is a lifelong battle, to lose or even maintain weight. The thing is, you’re doing wonderfully well and I believe you’ve got the insight to realise why weight loss is such a battle and what is important to you. Good luck for the next couple of weeks with your plan until you go on holiday and beyond.

I just accidentally clicked on one of your May 2023 videos and wowzers - your jaw line is so much more defined now! No shame in a holiday gain, I put on 5.5lbs in 8 days 🙄 Anyway, as you say it is best to get straight back on plan and so far I have lost 2lbs which puts me back in my target range, with another 2lbs to go to reclaim my target. Wow! May 2023 👀😳 I’m so glad I am happier and healthier now. It’s not even about my image, the person I am inside, in my head and heart is so much better and I am truly me. I can’t explain it! Denise, you have to be commended for the inspiration and encouragement that you give to other, especially when you're on your own SW journey. What will you remember in 1 year, 5 years or even 10 years time? The wonderful holiday you and James had to Copenhagen, or the fact that you put 2.5 lbs on? I've been away in the caravan for the last two weeks and will weigh-in on Tuesday morning, and I'm not going to stress over the amount I will probably have gained. It's real life! You are amazing! x

Weight goes up and down and as long as it is going down more than up, I am happy. Where do you have a caravan? 😊 Is it a static or mobile? We love caravanning and camping! Definitely, real life is what we can all lose sight of at times, due to one thing or another. I’m so pleased to have someone as realistic and supportive as you, cheering me on! 🎊 thank you! Xx

@@ScottishFoodieLassie We have a wee touring caravan and tend to holiday just in the UK. This holiday we based ourselves in Moffat as it's only 40 minutes from our eldest son (and two of our grandbabies) but our favourite destination with the van is Glencoe. It's the most beautiful place on this earth. Unfortunately it takes us 10 hours to get there from home, but so worth it! But, I'm so thrilled to tell you that I only put on half a pound after our holiday. Woo Hoo!!! xx

Hi 👋 my name is Kate but I use my husband account lol, I think it's OK to gain a few pounds when you have a holiday ,that get back on plan the minute you are home, its only dangerous if we carry eating like we are still away because for me the pounds go on overnight but they take a while to drop off again, sounds like you had a fantastic holiday and you are doing good again so you will easily lose that before you go away again, have a lovely week Kate 😊

yes so proud of you, you managed to have a nice time and maintain a good attitude and get back on your plan. But like you said about your taste bud changing it wouldnt be so bad to have some on plan days even when you are away somewhere cos the slimming world plan you follow has tasty looking stuff, instead of associating good times without "letting go" you can have an awesome day a still enjoy a baked potato for lunch perhaps.

Well done to you for your weight loss but I have noticed when I eat something different like processed food I as if I am not well on that food and I get back on healthy food and I am ok with this I am at sw on maintaining now for 44 weeks now you are not alone on this irene take care 🐝🐝🧵
