I just love the atmosphere that is created! His shots together with that kind of music, wich you don't here very often on these kind of vids, creates such a peacefull feeling. & that's why i love this vid so much ;)
Ahh. I was lucky enough to ski Grindelwald in 1976/77, right over New Year's. Lovely place. And the skiing was just as seen here in the video. We had a HUGE storm that had been a long time coming - there was little good skiing in the Alps up til then. But we had an epic day on Jan 1.
i just started really getting into skiing last winter, and i cant wait until i can ski places like that. its not your average resort with a ton of people everywhere. like its just you and the snow, which is so cool!
Lol I've actually thought about that. Every time I ski I get a little better and it brings happiness to me. Ill stack up cash and pray the next season comes early. From Tahoe ca!
Generally people will say snowboarding is easier to ski powder. The physics behind it say so as well. The larger base of a snowboard will allow it to float ontop of the snow more easily than that of average skis, but with the new technology put into skis it is different now. Skis can be made specifically for powder. They are wider and have rocker or banana in them makes it easier. It all comes down to personal preference. I have done both but prefer snowboard boots so I snowboard.
I can answer your question . Snowboarding is a different since of balance but it is pretty much sure that depending on the snow snowboarding tends to be harder . I skied 8 years before going to snowboarding for 5 years now and i'll admit snowboarding has been more fun and more of a challenge . If your in the woods skiing is easier . But jumping with a snowboard tends to be more fun .
Yeah, I understand. I will never use that kind of song again. I wish I could change it... Just turn the sound down (on youtube) and start your own music on iTunes so you can watch it over and over with a good song! ^^
on of the better videos on youtube! that looks amazing! question: i saw chairlifts in the vid so where do you end up skiing this? is it like bowls or you skiing off the side of the resort? or is it a powder resort because if it is then I dont know why I am not there
@OJMayoTheNextOne you don't need powderskiis to ski powder, as long as they are wide. Powderskiis help ofcourse, but no need for them if you've never skiid powder before.
thats sick! are those skis a little stiffer than most other pow skis? coz I'm looking for new skis and i don't really like soft pow skis since they don't feel as stable ripping turns like you were doing in the vid.
@Remix355 Arlberg is GREAT ! - but because its so hyped everything lift-near is tracked out before noon after a storm :( - been there, done that ... but def going back sometime. Would really love to see Verbier, and experience the terrain there . But is it affordable for us mere mortals ? - maybe its prejudice but I believe Swiss to be rather expensive, am I mistaken ? (Arlberg is quite pricey too)
@immeyouhe They are awesome. I was already riding the 2011 model, but this 2012 has a slightly stiffer tail and I like that! (It makes it better to ride big lines)
well it costs alot of less money because for skiing you need seperate skis. it rally depends on your skill level. for me i just started skiing but ive been snowboarding for a while and i find its a little easier to get going on skis because theyre thinner but its a little for me to keep them together. snowboarding is kinda hard to get used to but i guess its a little bit more fluid for me
Great Video! Just bought some bents, please tell me your height weight and ski length?! I got the 183's at 5'9" becuase im used to skiing shorter skis, but im wondering if i should size up?
@immeyouhe Not so much this season, but we had a lot in 09/10! I'm also skiing a lot in Verbier and you can always find some powder there (between november and april) And you? Where do you ski?
@chuckluck53 I was kidding... We're all FREESKIER ;) But freeride skiing isn't always about riding pow, it's always good to ride a 50° or 55° steep couloir even if there isn't any pow... :D
@Box63682 I don't know, I'm swiss and I've never been skiing in north america (not yet^^) But they've had more pow than us last season, that's sure! ^^
hi, I never powdered but I ski since i was 7 and now im 19. I am 185 and 75 kg, how long and wide powder ski would I need? and also what are your skis? Nice skis tho:)
@duxski17 Yo buddy! Thes are stiffer than the 2011 ones that's for sure. But if you want a freerid big mountain ski which is stiff, you should take the Atomi Atlas in 192! ;)
