Finally got another hiking video for you guys. This time, I bought the Danner Mountain 600 Boots to test out hiking up Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vermont. On sale for only $80, it was a no brainer to try out as my new short-hike boot. In just a few years Danner has carved out a space in the hiking boot market especially with their red laces (which I didn't get) - so I was stoked to finally take them on the trail.

Good boots for the casual hiker I completed multiple 3 to 4 day backpacking trips in them (very comfortable boots). However, I am a forester in the North East and they only lasted about 4 months worth of work. Hiking everyday in all types of weather and terrain.

Danner has been around since 1932. Not sure if that qualifies them as a "heritage brand" but they're definitely not new. If you want a more "heritage" style from them, you should try the mountain lights or the mountain pass.

Haha yeah I should have paid attention to their logo which says 1932 in big letters lol - will want to check those out next! Do you own a pair?

Yup! I have the mountain lights. Love them. I’ve taken them on some pretty gnarly hikes and they’re still going strong. My dad has a pair he bought in the 80s that he’s still rolling with. Hasn’t even gotten them resoled. I think the quality has dropped since then though. Still excellent boots

@@TheMensch do it! They go on sale sometimes I think. I also got mine at their wearhouse store since I live in Portland and paid wayyy less. I'm not sure if they have an online version of that but worth checking!

I have these in the brown leather style w/red laces...love them! Very comfortable and good lookin', and have served me well in the Rockies.

They're still on sale now and i have to ask, im not into waterproof boots since i want a breathable one. At 80 usd price, is it worth it compared to other brands out there at that range?

From my experiences with them I think $80 is a very fair price- you could find merrell for cheaper on sites like Sierra and Nordstrom rack but they are a bit better

Bought the black ones for $80. Definitely worth it. Order at least a half size down. They are super comfortable
