What's up fellas?!

I started this channel as a guy who loves menswear and wanted to create a space where we can explore products that we are proud to wear. That usually means things that are made here in the USA using quality materials and provide value to the consumers who support them. So come along and join me as we embark on this journey of style, quality, heritage, and authenticity!

Thanks a lot. I've recently bought a very old Sidney (it's my first hand-wound watch) and now I know how to wind it correctly.

Didn't know Johnston & Murphey had 300 dollar shoes. They certainly dont have any shoes worth 300 dollars. If you want a Shoe that's 300 dollars and actually worth it get Allen Edmonds

What do you suggest as products to care for them. Surley you don't "oil it up" like a glove.

I never go to the hard stop only because I’ve broken Main springs that way. I generally wind it every morning or every two days, but I easily get two days out of it without going to the hard stop. I wait until there is some resistance especially with an older watch you have to be careful not to overdo it. So I think this will depends on how heavy you are with your hands. If you’re heavy-handed, The first time I would just wind it until you feel inadequate resistance and see how long it goes before it stops. You are the expert but I am expert at breaking things. And I have overwhelmed many watches because I don’t have a good feeling in my fingertips. Lol

Deep down, there's a hipster in all of us 😊
@patrickmiao1698

This is the first time I heard this hipster argument...I don't care who wears them, Red Wing makes great boots. The iron ranger fit my foot beautifully from the beginning, very easy break in. The leather is nice and thick and can really standup to abuse. My only complaint about the boot is that it has a harder than usual sole, at least harder than my Trumans, Grant Stones and Parkhurst boots. The boot doesn't have a midsole and I think this is why there is less shock absorption while walking. When I resole the outsole, I plan on putting a nice thick leather midsole and maybe a vibram commando sole.

I’ll have to throw away my newly purchased iron rangers. They are too big and the red wing store here in Reno does not do exchanges.

I’ve had mine for about 4 months now. I wear mine as often as possible. Even to work if I can. I work in construction and do some metal fab work so I change them when I’m welding. Not quite ready to fully initiate a $320 pair of boots, lol. That being said, I do beat them up a little bit. After some good break in time I’ll be a little harder on them. My philosophy is to just wear whatever you like and don’t listen to other people’s opinions.

I got my first pair of Red Wings a couple of months ago. I went with the 3141 Work Chukka. They are finally starting to break in nicely. I love them so much! The Chukka has been on my wishlist for a long time and I’m stoked to finally have them.

I just got these too and think they look great. They'll need a break in though- any tips?
@HEYitsTRAV
@HEYitsTRAV 2 месяца назад
@@coff33guy34 Wearing slightly thicker socks for the first couple of weeks helped to do some initial stretching of the leather and helped prevent blisters. Now it’s just a matter of wearing them when I can and letting it happen naturally. I’ve been in mine since the end of January this year, and I think there is still a ways to go on the break in. From what I’ve seen from others, sometimes these can take a year to break in, especially if you don’t wear them every day or for long periods each day.

Unless there are new ways regarding shoes fitting I'm not aware of, the foot should not touch the edge of the shoe neither when trying them being seated, nor when walking... So those things being said..., the method going a half size down from the size when you already touch the edge of the shoe, doesn't work at all, unless you like to be unconfortable in your shoes and have black/thick nails all the time...! The leather stretches in width, but never in lenght, which brings us to the following example: - initially you have a pair of shoes or boots in 11.5 D, - while wearing them you might get to a 11.5 E, as leather will stretch (distend) over time, - you can not reach to a 12 D, as the shoes are build not to stretch in lenght but only in width. It has been proven that more than 70% of the population wear shoes that are not properly fitted to their feet...

couple things, handwelting done well with a channeled holdfast on the insole is superior to Goodyear welt and bespoke shoes have higher SPI in general if done well

I was a runner and am now more of a fitness generalist. I like the comfort of wearing very padded running shoes like Saucony Triumph during the day, or something more supportive like Mizuno Waverunner. Have you come across anyone who liked (higher endish) running shoes who made the transition to boots and found them more comfortable? I still sprint and run middle distance. I am the type to get bored walking in a parking lot and will do a fast jog to the front door, so I am wondering if boots can handle daily use for high-energy people.

Boots may stretch in width, in length they may actually shrink. The heel slip will get better as you use them. You should have at least a thumb width space at the front of your boots. This applies to any leather shoes. I initially thought Red Wing Iron Rangers in size 11.5. As I started walking they became short and I was able to touch the front. I changed them for a size 12. I was able to use an insole for comfort. And I added a kiltie. The 12 fit much better. These are the recommendations from Nicks Handmade boots.

Since I could run I remember having white shoes or even white outsoles were a horrible idea if you intended keeping them white. Any white on my shoe would be green after the first week.

Whatever happened to the 996? I wore a pair for 15 years, resoled them twice before giving them to goodwill. I still have a new pair that I've never worn, but cannot find any info about them to help me sell them.
