Actual if you watch the whole season valery shows up to help the ghosts move the eart before a meteor hits and only helps because without earth there be no futer I mean its true the season wasn't a total wast
Yeah I called back in the attitude mother I don't want to play and I like too much and yeah I want that I called back I like my heart and her too and I like you and my honey and I like your heart I do call back up my honey
@@maxs9062 look up the word interracial. yes there is one human race but television does not show many interracial couples- especially back then when this show first aired.
If I'm being honest, I believe Valerie was a much better fit for Danny in the long run. While Sam is cool and a friend, she wasn't always supportive toward Danny and did treat him like a prized possession so when the finale came, it felt a bit off to me. Valerie, however, would've brought a deeper and more emotional story. Having Danny and Valerie date, her find out about his secret and conflict with personal conviction and her feelings for him would be amazing to watch unfold and much more investing than Sam and Danny. To me, I feel Danny and Sam are a bit cliched and expected while Valerie and Danny are a bit bolder and surprising.
I don’t really agree because it is such a cliche. It’s like Romeo and Juliet kind of thing. I guess opposite attract is nice in all, but tbh I feel like you need some common grounds to be realistically have a long term relationship together. I like sam and Danny because sam will fight along side with him, and she always stood up for him when he was a “loser” whereas Valerie was a shallow popular girl in the beginning.
@@usernameundefined123 Romeo and Juliet was about love at first sight as well as different families as opposed to classes. Valerie WAS a shallow popular girl. As time went on she became humbled to what others had gone through, and grew as a person. You're right that there needs to be some common grounds. Valerie and Danny's drive to protect everyone from ghostly threats was that start. As opposed to the friends who suddenly become a couple. Two people who at one point hating each other growing to understand one another through mutual respect shows a true relationship.
@@bluubandette8871 no. this is completely different, they worked really well as friends and imo atla could've survived without any endgame relationships. i think it COULD'VE worked if zuko hadn't betrayed them at the end of book 2, dude is lucky he got friendship out of it lol. i do genuinely want to know what zutara shippers see cuz i really don't see what y'all are seeing.
After what happened in the second to last episode I seriously doubt she would have killed him. I think at the lowest point they would have talked it out and eventually teamed up, or at the best point patched things up and became a couple. These two had the real chemistry and I really wished they would have ended up together seeing as it was Valerie would truly liked Danny for the real him without needing his ghost half find romantic interest.
i've never been so invested in a fictional relationship. i still like them together after 10+ years haha. if the series were longer and the writers dont have an "endgame" in mind, i'd like to see how valerie slowly recognizes danny's secret while being in love with him
I always thought they had better chemistry than Sam and Danny lowkey. Why is it always the ex girlfriends in shows who are better than the endgame couples?
I’m honestly a fan of both couples. I personally prefer Danny and Sam more but Danny and Valerie definitely have their moments. And have an interesting dynamic
My biggest problem with Danny/Sam was basically how toxic a lot of the elements were and unlike with the Danny/Valerie there was never anything showing that the characters permanently grew out of said elements. Had the series not been one of which where they threw away character growth for the sake of plot as well as took Sam off her ivory tower I feel said pairing would have been far less toxic.
I really wished they would have went with this pairing instead of Danny/Sam. Unlike the canon pairing it wasn't shoved down our throats, there was real chemistry between the two of them, and even when Valerie gave up what she wanted it was because she didn't want to see him get hurt because of her ghost hunting. The series really didn't due this pairing Justice, and to be honest I felt this pairing was far more interesting that what we were stuck with at the end.
I agree. While I accept that they are canon, Danny and Sam's relationship felt forced especially in season 3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I heard from somewhere that Steve Marmel wanted Danny and Valerie to be canon.
@@yurakoh9679 I do remember one of the writers wanting said pairing to be canon however Butch Hartman wasn't having any of it. I also remember a writer being fired before season 3 started and with the lost of said writer things changed for the worst in most cases especially with the how they shoved Danny/Sam down the masses throats even harder while putting Sam even higher up on that ivory tower.
Always preferred them over Danny and Sam. Better chemistry, more interesting dynamic, and a lot of great development for them. How they go from hating each other’s guts, to Danny learning how to respect Valerie during their project, to Valerie growing to like Danny, to them growing very strong feelings for one another. Yes technically it’s Technus who made the relationship happen, but the feelings that were made were real and that bond was genuine to both of them. For me whatever was happening with those two was always more compelling with Danny and Sam. Especially when Valerie did want to be with him but let him go to protect him and have strong enough feelings for him to want to give up ghost hunting and be a normal person. That statement knowing Valerie and her hatred of ghosts was always huge for me and solidified why I enjoyed watching this couple and how much Valerie grew from the stereotypical popular girl who looked down on people to someone caring that much about one of the losers of the school so strongly. Then again, I always loved Valerie as a character and how complex and human she was. I’m disappointed we missed what could have happened if Valerie found out the truth about Danny. It could have really raised the stakes and made for some more compelling drama rather than the anti-climatic reaction of hers at the last episode of the show where she just doesn’t care. I don’t know. For me, they were a more interesting pair to watch. No disrespect to the Sam/Danny fans. I just still feel these two should have been endgame or at the very least explored more.
Valerie was prettier, stronger, more mature, and interesting than Sam. Danny should have ended up with her. His relationship with Sam was shallow and has a significant lack of chemistry compared to his abundance of chemistry with Valerie. It's funny how they didn't force anything to work with Val and Danny, but with Sam and Danny they forced it and you can tell. In the finale movie Sam was horrid!
Not to mention, the Danny and Sam pairing is very forced and undeveloped. Plus, I heard from Butch that he created 2 kids for Danny and Sam that is named Misty Fenton and Jackson Fenton.
Sam literally tells Danny that without his powers he’s just ‘one of the crowd again’, meaning her friendship with him only increased more because of his ghost powers and when he became human he was now just… boring. Tbh the first time we actually see Sam ‘fall’ for Danny is when he’s flying with her as Phantom, they do the whole lit in the sunlight glow and add a twinkle sound as Sam gasps then blushes. I don’t think she was ever in love with Danny, I think she was more in love with ‘Phantom’. Not to mention most of their romantic moments happen when Danny is in his ghost form, including the confirmed couple kiss at the North Pole. For Sam to do that WHILST knowing Danny’s secret is super awful of her, at least Valerie actually loved Danny as Danny, you can also tell that by the end of D-Stabilised she started to be a bit more friendly towards Phantom too. So if she eventually learned they were one and the same I think they would have worked way better together. Val would have physically helped Danny with ghost hunting AND covered more ground so they could be able to get to their school work and classes on time etc. Meanwhile if Danny needed help, most of the time Sam was just complaining on the side, yes she did help with research on a few occasions but tbh Tucker could have done that with the internet and Val would have 100% been more hands-on.
When I say ‘fall’ I mean a more romantic scene than just them blushing in the Speeder when Sam held Danny’s hands to warm them up. They weren’t blushing because “omg my crush is holding my hands” but because the context of hand-holding is mainly for couples, so it was out of mutual embarrassment. But as soon as we see Sam look up at Danny all “gasp, he really is glowing in the sunlight” kind of feel, that’s when we KNOW her feelings towards him started. I think Danny’s only started at the theatre but it was very faint, not enough for him to ever give an answer for it either. “You like the little goth girl don’t you?” “Sam? I… uh…” No answer. When Sam goes out with Gregor Danny does it out of worry for her safety then when she is kissed by him he feels bummed. Either because he couldn’t protect her from a phony or because he’s losing his best friend to some new guy. Also, bare in mind Gregor has WHITE hair and a similar complexion to Danny, just a bit taller. Sam was gushing over him instantly too. Weeeird right? Funny how she called HIM out for spying when not 2 episodes earlier she was literally spying on him and Val out of jealousy.
Danny and Val really needed an episode to wrap up their arc properly before the series ended. Something with her finding out about his powers and finally accepting that not all ghost are bad and becoming an ally to help fight some of Danny’s enemies and eventually take down Vlad.
I love the relationship between Danny and Valerie.Their relationship very much reminds me of Jake and Rose from "American Dragon Jake Long".They would have made an ideal and interesting couple, from the very beginning of the animated series I was for their relationship and thought that they would be together at the end of the animated series,it's a pity that this did not happen.A pity, it was my favorite childhood couple. And yes I agree their relationship is better than Danny x Sam.
@Jonathan Menzies I understand you, but this is your opinion, I think differently, enough to impose your opinion on me, I do not despise the relationship between Sam and Danny. To be honest I am neutral about the Danny / Sam pair, I just prefer Danny and Valerie more.
@@ЕленаОвчинникова-я4й don't waste your breath on that guy, he just can't comprehend that there are people who don't like Sam or Danny x Sam. Believe me, I've had multiple run ins with him before. People like him are what's wrong with the fandom.
@@jacobholder8514 Well, that's all right. and who said (wrote) that Someone does not like Sam.I just expressed my opinion about the other couple.I didn't insult Sam.Sam is a normal, kind, caring and positive goth character, I don't hate her, I have nothing against her.Every character in Danny Ghost is perfect in his own way. Each character is original and very interesting, each has its own background and origin, which makes each character necessary for a new plot.I didn't insult anyone.
If the series hadn’t come to an abrupt halt with phantom planet, i could definitely see danny and valerie’s relationship developing into something actually honest. Its too bad d-stabilized was the last episode before the finale because none of the revelations about half-ghosts ever developed for valerie.
Glad everyone can agree Sam and Danny didn’t work and these two had waaay more chemistry. Was actually shocked and hurt to find out that they weren’t endgame as a kid 😭
@@jacobholder8514 Quite frankly, Any girls rather it be Ember,Kitty,or Valerie would've been A better match for danny than Sam. Personally, I'm going for Ember x Danny.
we stan Valerie Grey in this house. i always thought she was the best fit for Danny. but the “protagonist/best friend” romances always tend to win out in shows like these. i’m not mad about it, but i do wish we’d seen more of Val. there were so many plotlines unexplored here.
Valrie and Danny should have been together! So she didn't know he was a ghost , but I'm pretty sure she would have changed her mind knowing the guy she likes is a ghost
@Jonathan Menzies Yeah but she hates Phantom because she assumes he’s basically like every other ghost in their world which is horrible and cruel to humans. Plus he indirectly ruined her and her father’s life so she’s got a lot of angry baggage to unpack with him. But from what we saw in de-stabilized, she’s willing to treat a half ghost with some humanity. Sam ONLY liked Danny cause he was half ghost given she speaks little about him when he tries to be human again cause suddenly he’s just like everyone else. Plus she’s just a huge hypocrite and has an extreme ‘pick me’ type of energy.
@@savagedarksider5934 Nah imo she treats Danny being half ghost like a trophy boyfriend sort of thing. After all she had the opportunity to be half ghost herself when she made the wish her and Danny never met and he suddenly has no powers. She coulda gone in herself. But she doesn’t want the responsibility. Noooo no let’s put it on the kid who’s already bullied in school, is an average student at best, lives under the roof of ghost hunters, whereas Sam would thrive as a ghost if anything. She’s got money for equipment, she’s content being perceived as weird, but she still projected that responsibility onto Danny. When Valerie knew something needed to be done with ghosts, she took the responsibility herself. Like sure with Vlad’s help but still. She acted.
Ayo watching this made me realize that Danny and Val would have been His Dad and Maddy, and it would have been perfect. They would have been the most unstoppable ghost hunting couple in the universe, the girl had serious skill and Vlad was right to choose her. Plus we needed more of that Swirl.
Talk about relationship troubles, half of us thought that two of them were made for each other like Jake and Rose from American Dragon, but really hope Danny and valarie workout their differences after Danny’s final identity got revealed after he saved the planet. Plus let’s hope He got a chance to hangout with valarie even more Fighting ghost side by side.
I really didn't pay attention to or appreciate this show as a kid. Really intricate and clever dynamics they have here, like the one between these two. To have such strong emotions for each other on one hand and then also unknowingly be bitter rivals through alter egos on the other is brilliant. Even more brilliant to have their romance be set aside for the reasoning presented. Even doubly so more brilliant for it to seem like they enjoy each other's competition at the end.
💯 Valerie and Danny were the better couple. They had more chemistry. The original writers wanted Danny & Valerie, but after they left the show, it was switched to end with Danny & Sam
I remember wanting those two to end up together. I never liked Sam and thought Val and Danny had better chemistry. I thought it was odd how the last season they shoved Sam and Danny relationship down our throats. I found out later it was because one of the main writers got fired and Butch Hartman was the one writing the last season and you can totally tell. The last season feels like a different show. Val and Danny could have totally worked out. They both fight ghosts and we saw many times they work well together like that so the comment of "They would work out because he is a ghost" makes no sense. We saw a slow build up with them unlike Sam where they were best buds until the Butch Hartman season where it was in our face all the time. Val and Danny would have worked out like Jack and Maddie I think. They would be a cute couple that bounced off of each other better.
@@ceciliafaith4132 They were best friends. And while a husband and wife should be best friends, not all best friends should be romantically entangled with each other. They did NOT work as a couple. The one episode that did it at all well literally used mind control to make it happen, and their confusion and mixed feelings about it afterwards were clearly more to do with "wait, we ARE best friends, and you ARE a boy/girl, so...?" than with any real chemistry. Heck, their looks of hurt and heartbreak as the spell broke were more, at least as I read it, about recognizing that the feelings truly weren't real than they were about losing love. They were in love with the idea of being in love, thanks to the spell. Not with each other. (That htey could go right back to being best buds thereafter with little to no awkwardness shows how strong their platonic bond was.)
We could use another video with clips from Jimmy Neutron or other 90s and 2000s Nicktoons (something that has never been seen before, and not the same clips from when NickRewind was previously NickSplat).
Yeah, a relationship timeline between Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex should be soon. Especially when they went from bitter rivals to best friends throughout the course of the series.

I adore both pairings and the whole friends to lovers thing is one of my favourite tropes but for some reason Valerie/Danny thrills me a tad bit more than Samantha/Danny. It’s also sad that after one of the main writers ( Steve Marmel, right? ) left almost prior season 3, the whole Valerie and ghost hunting arc was abandoned.
Besides being an Awesome Action Cartoon for my generation, one of the aspects that makes Danny Phantom Great was the complicated relationships in the show. Characters made sacrifices so others wouldn’t get hurt....comedy gags, drama, evil villains, Danny Phantom had it all. I have Danny Phantom top 5 all time for Nick Cartoons🖤
Danny and Valerie have both dealt with the same animosity and both have secrets that can't be exposed or it could endanger them. I do appreciate how their relationship got better as the show progresses. And Sam, I see her as a best friend type instead of a love interest.
Damny x Val will always be endgame. Val reminds you of Danny’s mom. Both fight ghosts can protect themselves smart she even have a guy that’s crazy in love with her the same way Vlad has love for Madeline. 🥰
Danny should of told her the truth. Yeah she would get angry at first, but he could of helped her understand that not all ghosts are evil. It probably would of taken a few episodes for her to come to terms with the revelation. But I honestly feel like that if Danny would of told Valerie the truth, she would of let go of her hatred of ghosts. Or at the bare minimum adopt a 'dont shoot on site' policy.
Well, upon second viewing, I can see why Danny and Valerie became interested in each other. If only Danny told Valerie his secret, that couple would have worked.
I actually liked them as a couple and wonder why people try to put Valerie with Tucker when she clearly doesn't like him. Then people say she doesn't like Danny Phantom well of course she doesn't at first but, over the seasons she and Phantom have a mutual understanding of each other and become friendly-ish when Dani is in trouble. So if there was more episodes they would have made a great couple. Reminds me of black cat and spiderman, Black cat love spiderman but, didn't care for peter until later down the road she grew to care for that side of him.
If danny phantom got a fourth season and they let val and danny be a couple this would’ve forced sam to admit she does in fact love danny and i wouldve but it wouldve been interesting to see cause maybe they couldve paired sam up with somebody that wouldve made danny admit that he love sam
Honestly I wanted them together and I thought what maybe their differences between them would be over after they met Danni cause she brought them to meet once again haha but that never happened
@Jonathan Menzies Actually considering she trusts Danny and found out his uncle is an evil ghost villian she would have heard him out and trust Phantom and have a crush on him too since they are the same person
