Thank you Ben and Yammy for using your platforms to try to keep this case in perspective. If the authorities really want him back without incident they should give him assurances regarding any punishment for the escape and a release date.
Psychological torture is no way to rehabilitate a man and prepare him for life after prison. I get that he’s escaped but it’s quite literally letting an angry caged animal out that doesn’t know what’s going on with a fence that’s too low. I don’t think you can’t treat people that way without expecting this type of result.
No no no ipp is life as it is indeterminate u may get 4 years ipp so 4 years then ELIGIBLE for parole. Eds is not indeterminate Eds is like epp was but someone else can continue your education

IPP has been stopped a number of years back and this mp who came up with this disgusting sentence said it was the worst decision he ever made and is waiting to resentence the people stuck on this that's if they stop dragging their heals
I’m a ipp been out 8 years now on licensing parole etc I absconded stupidly myself during my time and they hunted me like a escaped lunatic from the asylum lol 😂 so bad I gave myself up after a week and still served additional 3 years for a week out was it worth it 😂 obviously not

They are unfair for the majority of people but some do deserve it. What baffles me is how a s*x offener can be imprisoned for such a small amount of time and then get out and commit and s*x offence. I was close to getting one when I was younger for gbh charges, luckily that never happened and I’ve now been out for 17 years without any trouble. I was locked up in Strangways with many people who had the ipp sentence and most are probably still serving them or are at least still on licence. I get some people commit violent offences like I did but education and trust is key to rehabilitation. No rehabilitation goes on in our prisons. Treating men like animals will result in men acting like animals.
The crimes he comitted werw 16 years ago. Thr madness in jail was in the begining to half way through his sentence. The reason why he got his d cat is because hes been out of troubke for years and he earned his d cat through staying out of trouble. Nuff youtube channels talk about him like hes still the same kid. None of them know what they are talking about. They make videos about 16 years old nonsense. People are also saying he needed spice. My bet is he met a bird and is with her. Theyll find him soon. And he wont get his release for a couple years. But its time they let the poor man out. Its torcher plain and simple. Cruel

I can't believe this, im 57 ,did multiple sentences that in total was 19 years inside,hated system and screws,judges,probation did nothing but make me angry.if this was law in nz ,where im from i would never have got out.
It's what happens when you are progressing through the prison system as he's obviously been going to have been getting released very soon and he's obviously had a lot of negative thoughts going around in his head to have escaped or should I say walked out
Disgusting, I met a few lads doing a ipp sentence and they all were massively over there tariff too, I think it's the not knowing your release date that is the worst thing.
Yes, ive heard many stories of people being recalled after leaving bail hostels that were full of wrong uns. Its like they do it on purpose to trip people up and get them recalled. The wrong uns get better treatment than regular prisoners and they should have their own hostels instead of mixing them in.

The IPP sentence is the worst. It had good intentions and could have worked, but it has been used all wrong and given out to many who didn't deserve or warrant it. IPP was created to keep some of the most dangerous and unpredictable prisoners off the streets, until they were "safe" to return to society, real nuisances causing constant trouble for everyone around them. But, there was no help, support, mental health work, training, opportunities or basically hope, for anyone give an IPP, they were left to rot and deteriorate, where as what they really needed was help and hope. Sorry but. You can't Can't just release all IPP'S, too many wouldn't cope, it would be messy. Should create an IPP specialist nick, give them the help hope, gradual release and the support they need to get them out, like should have been done all along. Was a good idea, just used horribly and all wrong, then they just abandoned it and brushed under the carpet. Including the people sentenced to one
@@enquirer2.0 I agree, but I also don't think it's as simple as that, too many have seriouse mental health issues, or are too institutionalised, are too full of hatered and resentment, many aren't, and could get out tomorrow, but how do you select the right ones when no monitoring has ever been done? I worry that many wouldnt cope, maybe not the ones you may know, who have bit about them, but of the hundreds of vulnerable and troubled people i worked with who had IPP's. Too many of them would reoffend, or shut down, or turn to alcohol/substance abuse, or worse, give up completely and self harm/terminate. They have been let down by the system and the system needs to do more than just let them out, in my opinion. Sorry, that's my piece said, I'll shut up now.

What I don’t understand is he was on his way home being in a catD prison is your visa to freedom he only had to play the game and he would of been out strange thing to do knowing he be sent back to a closed prison and serve more time than he needed to,
I will tell you this he has got a big debt in jail for spice, big Rob ironed him out big time he knows if he goes back to closed conditions then he's going to be fighting everyday an unfortunately he hasn't got it in him anymore probably because of the spice, but once someone weighs someone like Danny in, everybody in the jail who he's pissed off threatened or done in himself is going after him

yeah i think revised mental health act aswell - theyve got a lot to answer for that government for sure - my mate jamie ipp got out in three years to get drug treatment then robbed someone else at a cashpoint and then returned out again in another 4-5 years for drug treatment again - thiught they scrapped them didnt they

@taylormade2826 Absolutely, he keeps being told he's gonna be let out, but he has to do all these courses, some courses he's done twice. Some are 2 years long..all bs to keep him in, he's classed as a model prisoner.. Still not good enough 😕

I have been inside with people who have had 2 years IPP, 7 YEARS later, they were still in, this particular guy I'm talking about was in for fighting, he protected his gf and her mate at the time from a gang of young lads harrasing them, however. He was on video chasing the ring leader down the street and stamping on his head. Despite just before this, he took a baseball bat to his head..

Mate something has come on top ,cat reversal and I’ve a friend,he stabbed a Polish fella in the eye with a fork,whilst getting a beating but his form fucked him over. So he got a 4 on ipp and did 1 month over 10 years,he was or is no angel but he told me he lost hope,the courses are doubled down on and he said even a daft report for dissent can end your hopes for f being on the out. And these that voted out of Europe also voted us out of a lot of human rights . I hope he snaps back to his senses,I’ve found myself typing whilst listening and I heard you say his Cat was under risk . There's still a fence round it and gates, you can't just stroll out. He was either on a work placement or he was on a garden detail outside. The lad's done 14 years and still doesn't know when he's getting out, and every one has a breaking point. Every one.
I can't understand why he thought it was a good idea to escape prison when he would of been getting out sooner rather than later and once caught it's definitely going to be later and very later if lucky as he might never get out now unfortunately for him and he's probably got a lot of seriously negative things going around in his head now oh my
Mate, I agree with everything you mentioned here, from the medieval IPP sentencing to the painting of a man who didn't sit for his portrait, done by artists he never met. I have disagreed with you on Bronson's desire for release based on his sabotaging behaviour and narcissistic need for publicity, but this is different. Danny was not GIVEN a D cat, it took years of going against survival instinct in a very violent environment to graft a C cat, double that and more hard work for D cat, while at the same time listening to people who he has never met (or just passed on a landing) describe him in despicable ways to the world. (I make no excuses for his past, we all fucking have one🤪). My hope is that this all ends safely and it can put another spotlight on the absurdity of IPP sentences, however, my fear is if it ends violently it will be a government brownie point for the PP (public protection) in his sentence, then he will not be the only one paying the price. But I thought that if you were in a cat D you are working your out & he probably would of gotten out soon but now god knows when they will release him , even though he should of been out years ago if he was only supposed to do 4years
