As someone who grew up playing as Tails and aboslutely loves it, this is breaking my heart, but is also a 100% accurate representation of playing as Tails.

All jokes aside though, I really do appreciate Arin cheering up Dan and offering him to look on the bright side and positive impact for Magnum Bullets. I really like his mention on the views vs comments part, maybe bc he's gone through the RU-vidz for quite a while, and I do think the fans who meme'd really enjoyed the MV regardless. Most comments nowadays are easy-to-copypaste memes that everyone can upvote, so it's rare to find the ones where folks remember to type praise and compliments, when I'm also sure they're likewise busy with rewatching, sharing the vid, looking up the artists, or making amazing fanart. As much as I enjoy GG memes, the first time I watched Magnum Bullets, I was so incredibly captivated by the animation and music that I had completely forgotten it was released on GG. As Arin described (in his own Arin way), I really was having a "w h o a" moment throughout the whole video. My sympathies to Dan feeling bummed out, as I think all great and amazing artists empathize with. If you're reading this, Dan, know that Magnum Bullets is greatly loved by many folks, including my friends, co-workers, and myself. It's honestly inspired me to get back into writing my weird cyberpunk story that incidentally features non-human chars. I've been sort of putting it off for a while and after replaying the MV multiple times, I felt empowered to revisit my creative roots. Dan has that weird awesome power to inspire with his contributions, and gosh I really just look forward to what KOTLT and Night Runners do next.

It feels like the “Dan is a furry” meme is getting as out of hand as the “goddammit Ross” stuff. It hurt to see fans treating Ross so badly at Magfest all those years ago and it’s sad to see this furry joke getting in Danny’s way when he’s trying to collab with and promote other talented artists. Magnum Bullets was such an amazing project and I hope NightRunner, Knights of the Light Table, and Dan know they did a wonderful job.

Dan, if you're reading this, Magnum Bullets is an amazing song, and Knights of the Light Table did an AMAZING job. The furry stuff is a joke, but that video was awesome. :)

Dan, I want to say something to you; even though I know you probably won't see this. I loved Magnum Bullets. Watching it, I was just stunned by the visuals, the music, the instruments, and your beautiful and emotional vocal performance. I kept re-watching it to catch all of the details. The character design, the retro-futuristic neon, the use of the Circle as a symbol-since the wolves not only are avenging their friend with a Circle symbol, but are perpetuating a Circle of violence. It's all so beautiful.

In regards to "you fool" I have to type this story. I'm an EMT. I work with my husband and a nurse in critical calls. We went code 3 (lights and sirens) to a hospital for a lady who had full arrested and needed to go to another hospital WAY out of county. They had her stable for transport on a handful of IV drips (we have med pumps) and a ventilator. So we were setting her up getting her ready to go and my husband had pushed the gurney into me while we were lining it up against the bed to move her over. The oxygen concentrator (made of jagged metal in some areas) scratched me and I was bleeding. So I was gonna scream "YOU FUCK" but instead I LOUDLY BELLOWED "YOU FOOL" because I won't cuss in front of patients regardless of them being sedated or not and we just started laughing. And to this day, I realize the last thing this lady heard was someone going "YOU FOOL." We had to reroute to another hospital because she died again. We got her back but it's unlikely she's alive. But the YOU FOOL really resonates with me personally

Oh, Dan, trust me- Magnum Bullets got such a good reception! A bunch of my friends who’re into Starlight Brigade made OCs for it, and we all loved how artful the video was and how amazing the song is. I personally loved Night Runner even before the video came out, and I’m so happy that I get to teach people I love about them now! And of course, the Knights are all my inspirations as an artist and aspiring animator. That video was dope, regardless of the furry jokes!

So many people in the comments are arguing semantics when the real message is this: it doesn't matter if he "by definition" is anything. It doesn't matter what labels you want to force on someone. Dan is clearly uncomfortable with the label, and goddamn y'all need to learn to respect someone's preferences and back off. The joke isn't funny, no matter how "true" you think it is.

so, I get what Dan's saying: tiny Dan really loved cartoons as a child, and a lot of cartoons had anthropomorphic characters in them. Little did tiny Dan know, that many children all around the world also loved these characters, and like him, they would take that love into adulthood. For now adult Dan, what better way to express that than by showcasing that in a piece that not only hearkens back to the things he loved as a child, but also exhibits his vocal and musical talents? For others, that love has also matured, but become sexual in nature. Dan just wants to love what he loves without having to be aligned with others who love the same thing in a different way, not because he thinks badly of them, but because that's just not what he's about. I also get what Arin's saying: it doesn't really matter what people online think. Not everyone who comments "Dan is a furry confirmed" are doing it for malicious reasons. Some of them are maybe just trying to be funny on a comment section for a video on a channel where two guys make dick and fart jokes all day (not to oversimplify it, of course). So, I think both of these wholesome boys are trying to foster a fanbase that's fun and can joke around, but also be sensitive/appreciative to the creativity that happens here. Most of the time, it is mostly jokes, but sometimes, like with Magnum Bullet, the intention and execution have a different effect on us that make the joking a little less appropriate as a reaction. ...I gotta say, I think that's a bit of a fruitless effort. The internet isn't the place to check what the actual response (in this case, to Magnum Bullet) is. The response will manifest itself in others ways, like Arin said with the view count, etc. Dan, we know you're not sexually attracted to anthropomorphic animals. Some people just really want to be funny.

Dunno if Dan will ever see this. But I would like you to know that I went and bought all of Night Runner's music after watching Magnum Bullets. So you at least got them one sale with your efforts.

Furries absolutely existed back in the 80s. It's just that the lack of common internet usage made it harder for that to get around more, it wasn't as widespread of a fandom the way it is now, and they used to be called the "funny animal fandom" before coming to be known as furries. And furries absolutely still wore fursuits back then, it just wasn't as frequent because the fandom was smaller and not as many people in the fandom had money to pour into giant elaborate costumes the way they do now. Also, I see no reason why Dan shouldn't ride off the whole "Dan is a furry" thing in relation to the Magnum Bullets music video, considering furries LOVED it. Many, many, many of my furry friends frequently shared the video around, not only loving the art style and characters of the music video, but also the song itself. If anything, Dan's association as a supposed closet furry helped boost its popularity in a very positive manner. I can understand he still has the negative stigma of furries being just some sort of freaky sexual thing, but the "furry" reception to the music video was in no way a bad thing, even with people joking about Dan being a furry. I think to an extent, he takes fans joking about it a bit too seriously than he needs to.

Dan's struggle with furries is something I feel so much. 😂 I love anthro characters, I love how stylish the designs can be and how many doors open up in terms of expressing emotion and action. How you translate things like a cats knees can be so fascinating, it really brings that extra dimension to works of fantasy. As "furry culture" swept over the internet it became harder and harder to express this interest, because so much furry art is just animalized humans getting it on. It's something I can't talk about anymore because of the heavy connotations of bestiality now that furries are more associated with fetish than style, and honestly I don't even look at anthro art anymore because stumbling into that one fetish piece ruins my good vibe. I couldn't even talk design with my formerly closest friends without hearing "Wait are you a furry lmao"... even as a joke people can't separate themselves from memes long enough to realize when someone is trying to be genuine. This turned into a bit of a rant but whatever, I'm gonna pretend to myself that at least one memester out there will gain some empathy for casualties of the fur war. 😂😂
