I don't give a toss if he's danced before, that was an epic Charleston. Technical perfection isn't everything, there's performance to be taken into account too and this was a show.
My favourite Strictly Charleston ever, I come back to watch it every year. Danny made it look effortless and Oti's routine is just magic. Strictly ain't the same without her.
Anjana Dey Clark Me too. He learned some dance when he was very young I’m guessing. All stage school kids do. Doesn’t mean they’re any good. He worked very hard and rose to a professional level thanks to Oti. He should’ve won. It is very rare you’ll find a celeb who is an actor/actress that is a complete novice.
2023 and I came back to watch this after watching a Quickstep on this year's Strictly to same tune!! Danny and Oti's is my all time favourite!!Even though it was a Charleston!!! just love the music!!
P.S - Yeah they were actually out of sync at one point, but he's untouchable and deserved a 40 for his dance in week one. Plus he's better than some of the pros, a joy to watch.
I know Danny is perhaps the best celebrity dancer on the show, but can we just appreciate for a moment what an amazing choreography this is? I think Oti did a great job on nearly all of the numbers they've been through yet.
Tracey-Ann Wisdom absolutely 👍🏽 It's going to be a tight finale...I watched the live show for the first time in weeks and Ore has something-I think it's the sentimental aspect and Louise is just so sweet. Danny absolutely deserves the win but I think it's going to be tighter then we think.
Nats Nefertiti I think that's the top 3 right there, and Claudia to be the "upsetter." Ore's a great showman as well. Louise is sweet and performs well, but she's kinda boring to me. In my mind, it's between Danny and Ore for the win. While I wouldn't be too upset if Team Ojo takes it, I'm rooting hardcore for Team Doti.
+Tracey-Ann Wisdom Yes, I think you're right. Personally I prefer Ore for the win, but Danny is just phenomenal he is incredible!!!! I also do find Louise a bit boring though. Xx
Indeed - they should have gotten their 40 back with the Quickstep. But it was well deserved and as much as I love Judge Rinder, who's Salsa was Fabulous, Danny should have been in the Pimp Slot tonight..
***** Agreed. But I actually like that they weren't in the pimp spot, otherwise some fans would be crying favouritism. I see the detractors back out in full voice complaining about his West End dance/performance background, as if that should disqualify him from being on the show. -_-
Tracey-Ann Wisdom I accept that he has dance training - I don't think it should disqualify him, especially since he's being honest about it, unlike Natalie Gumede. I have talked about his dance training, but only to acknowledge that he has dance training. I tend to favour contests that are upfront about their dance training, I adored Pixie Lott the year that she did Strictly.
They kept quiet when he was being undermarked (I'm still shocked about his QS and AT scores :-( ) but now they are out in force after that performance. Now apparently Doti are judges pets, SMH.
***** I liked Pixie Lott too. She was brilliant! I love a good underdog shocking viewers with their talent, or someone improving week after week, but I can't fault someone or root against them just because they've had training - especially since he's been upfront about it, as you said. It's really nice to see someone who's so good that it might be hard for the untrained eye to distinguish between pro and star. And it's not like he's being boastful or arrogant about it either.
Wow Danny did a great job, hope UK puts him in the finals. The glitz and glamor looks GOOD on him (love the shiny red jacket, sexy!), I don't know what the judges scored him but hope they were good scores, he deserves it! Oti doing a nice job choreographing! This was high energy all the way to the end and Danny pretty much kept up with Oti (I got tired just watching the dance)! Kudos! :))
This was one of the best dances I've seen on strictly. I think they are probably the only dancers I saw when worked well as a Groupon dancers. Well deserved score.
I bet Danny and Oti will be doing the Charleston again in the final let me tell you that! Classic and original, technically the best dance of the whole night! ;) :)
All those people saying he went out of sync & has had prior dance training- Ore has been making mistakes and getting overmarked all series. And I'm sure Louise has had former training while attending stage school. Let's just enjoy this for what it is; a stylish, classy, technically superb, joyous Charleston. Thoroughly deserving of a 10.
People often don't do the charleston accurately, but this was superb! Not good, not great, superb! He is so light on his feet, agile, fast and you have to dance the charleston with flair. How this man did not win the show is beyond ridiculous. This is the real winner.
Finally a mark he truly deserve. He was flawless as well on his Quickstep, but at least Danny didin't have to wait until the finale for his perfect score. He's just one week shy of the record for quickest perfect score ever (Ali Bastian snatched hers in week 8, also in Blackpool), but overall well done Danny!
had to have my dose of DOTI again!!! My god they were soooo good!!! Fabulous, Amazing, best ever as far as I'm concerned!!!! Best Blackpool dance...bring on cast of 2018 - lets see what they can do!!!
Heres the winning dance here Danny Your So precise 😊 Hes made for any stage musical in the west end now with that stunning sharp precise routine The winner indeed
I have watched this for the umpteenth time and wonder how often Ore's dances are watched? Danny was and still is the rightful owner of the glitter ball. Such an injustice done to him and Oti. I'll never forget or forgive it.
Oti Mabuse is an accomplished choreographer on the set. I love her arrangements, very exciting and fresh. Danny, oh Danny a very good student and very capable, puts the hours in and comes out each week better and better. I simply live to watch them. they look good and dance well together, no messing about. I found them exciting to watch.
Jeez- it's only on the umpteenth viewing -and on slo-mo - that I finally realised Danny & Oti are holding hands in their cartwheels. Astounding. And I bet they kicked each other *many* times in rehearsal before they got that one right!
Come on this is 2021 and no one has ever danced as well as Danny and Oti. True classy entertainment beyond💝 Danny and Oti must always remember many of us saw them as the true winners of Strictly, the public did not want to admit it🤔 shame on them🤗
He really is in a league of his own here. Terrific dancer. I fear however that the young gymnastic or the other lady the judges seem to really like but who is really not that great, will win. It is often a popularity contest. If it was based just on dancing, this guy is the one to beat.
kiwigirljacks I totally agree, especially about the gymnast, I thought she was like a carthorse, stomping about and she was out of time too, and she got 4 9s completely over marked....
Louise is Danny's closest competitor definitely not Ore. But Danny has already won the competition. After his Paso it was clear he had won the competition. He is more popular than Louise too as not many people like Louise because of her tame personality.
Suspicious Windmills It doesnt matter that he makes a mistake or so, everyone makes mistakes but it can still be worth 10s. He got 4 10s in this dance and I think he slowed down in the middle but that doesnt mean I dont think he doesnt deserve them
Oh goodness it's April and I'm still obsessed... I actually cried in December! Looking forward to next strictly but it won't be the same. They were such a phenomenal partnership... 😭😢
I agree Tony, last weeks Arg Tango was very special. Once i was able to watch it close up (on laptop) i could not stop watching the mesmerising routine. Thought Darceys comments were way off (quite obvious she's rooting for Ore) and really felt for Danny as that routine defintely deserved tens (then again i think that, barring the foxtrot all his dances have been worthy of tens)
So you think this dance also deserved tens, baring in mind the out of sync moments at 0:17 and 0:51 and missing a kick the other dancers did at the table section?
Suspicious Windmills You know what, I know this was nine months ago, but I'm scrolling through this comment section and you just won't bloody shut up. And you say exactly the same thing every time. We got your point the first few times you said it, you didn't have to go and comment it on every positive comment on this bleeding video. People have got 40s for worse quality dances than this, so get that chip off your shoulder and get over it.
