Right?! Anyone else feel like this was a missed opportunity interview? Like they had ABED the breakout character of community and they spent most of the interview talking about other cast members. I mean, I recognize Donald Glover as a creative messiah as much as the next guy, but Danny provided a transcendent performance for a really under representated and poorly represented community.

I feel like Danny Pudi got critical recognition but not mainstream fame because he was in a great show that nobody saw. Jim Parsons got mainstream fame but less critical recognition because he was in a show that sucks and everybody saw it, but he's still actually very talented. I would have loved to see him do a cameo in Community.

Danny can really be proud of himself. "Abed" as a whole, is an extraordinary achievement, actor-wise. Of course the chemistry with the others is also needed, but there are sooo many scenes, where he gave the entire setting of the episode "that certain something that was needed", I am really thankful :)

my favourite thing about this show it's how every detail is crucial, like we know that buzz hickey dies offscreen only by reading the lunch lady's emails and that troy and levar're captured by pirates by paying close attention to the news hickey's watching on a random episode

Buzz Hickey in season 6 we are told is dead in the lunch lady's email leak, and the screenplay they're writing doesn't workout and used as basis for the film abed directs also in season 6 in the episode where chang becomes famous.

Highly recommend it! It's a good intro into artsy, avant-garde movies. The only way to watch it online rn is to rent it tho, piracy aside

The movie might be a documentary about the narrative around a really special series being too alternative and rejected and sabotaged by the industry due to the quality that wasn't understood by the companies, whilst in a context of a turmoil in which television industry couldn't and wouldn't yet dare to monetize streaming online, which meant they couldn't harvest a very large chunk of the audience that had already left television behind and watched illegally online, which downed the ratings of the show. Interesting parallel in many ways with Arrested Development.

Danny and the interviewers seems to have the same problem as me; when looking back, getting caught up and for a moment my disbelief is suspended, as if the show was recent, as if it was only paused and a new season is just around the corner. Danny says 'our show' and the interviewers say 'when you do', after which they sometimes talk in present tense. It's funny and sad.

I can't believe they didn't talk about the Fat Dog/Bear Down for Midterms episode. I honestly think it was worth the whole 5th season for that one subplot. Plus Ken Jeong did some legit acting when he cries about not being taken seriously. And the dance routine at the end. "RACE!" "It's a bear dance!!!" Proper art.

I don't think Danny needs to feel bad about not winning anything, and neither of us need to feel bad. Abed is an award himself because he is an unique TV character, unable to make any reference and will never be seen again during history. This is something you can brag abt for the rest of life. He got a call that his wife went into labor with the twins when he was looking at the yam with the "coroner" in Basic Lupine Urology in season 3. They finished the scene and then he ran out the door and they had to reorder the next couple of shoot days.

The first three seasons of Community are without a doubt some of the finest seasons of television ever made. Its so complete, it has everything - hilarity and sincerity, the movie references and the script. The emotional relationship the viewer creates with the characters is amazing, it has so much depth. I LOVE IT.

Season 5 is my favorite. It's the weirdest and while season 2 & 3 have the best episodes in it, 5 is the most consistent for me. It's all great but 5 has a unique tone... like The White Album, it ain't Sgt. Pepper but pound for pound it punches well above it's weight.

I just watched the episode where they close the loop on Hickey+Abed's cop screenplay. It's the Chang sci-fi movie in season 6. They used Chang's small bit as the police chief for it.

What does the title mean? These fanboys gushing interviewing him WOULD BE ME! Love the show. Loved the cast. How Chevy Chase could ruin this brilliant opportunity as the perfect vehicle for him I will never understand. So the show morphed into something else with Troy & Abed instead of Troy & Pierce . Complete with "darkest timelines".... so what! Be grateful , bc of the brilliant writing and vision you were still relevant and were allowed to be funny. Truly funny. SMH
