Uzumaki Naruto His usual, fun, happy personality has left him is all. I think the whole act of "The Boy" really changed him. Sadly. He was like the black Jim Carrey before lol. Th Derrick Comedy days were the best.
HouwariAttack They are the same person lol. Let's not forget Troy is a character that he acts as and doesn't actually live. Now Gambino is his rap persona, with albums story in mind for (BTI) he plays as "The Boy". So that right there is most likely how Donald Glover is normally. Sorry if that upsets people, but people change, I still love all his works and stuff
All y'all talking about "that's not Donald Glover/Troy" ain't even mentioning that that's not Abed either, that's Danny Pudi. They're both being themselves
@@FrankDickerstein They're weird together but Danny's weird in a different way to Abed and super expressive; totally the opposite of his character imo.
Theory, Troy goes all around the world, tries new things, without abed. And the only thing he has is pierces money. With this he kind of changes, and realizes the friends he made along his journey are only friends with him for his money, he becomes more and more depressed. He returns after season 6 to Abed, but changed, Abed is just as happy as ever, and has not changed one bit, Troy comes back a more mature, experienced man. The only thing they really have anymore is their shared love of video games. So that's what they talk about now. And for a breef moment, Troy feels at home again. Yet still, distant.
My theory is similar to yours, but with something extra added in. In one of the episodes in season 5 you see on a TV screen “levarr burton and non-celebrity sidekick captured by Somalian pirates” so this Troy could also have depression on top of trauma from that experience of being held hostage. The rescue of Troy could also lend to the plot of a community movie
I loooove how Abed is a little more expressive and Troy is a little more reserved. It shows that since they spent years apart they’ve both grown and matured more. And yet, still have managed to retain that essential sense of playful geekyness between them
i like that idea but I really do just think they aren't playing their characters. I didn't see Troy and Abed while watching it, I saw Donald Glover and Danny Pudi
@Mercy Funny you're A girl and Said that.. i think guys become More laidback like this Because Women GENERALLY go for More Laidback Guys. at least thats What i hear. i personally Have no Chill Unless i'm Drawing.
Haven't really run across much footage of these two together outside of Community. Makes me happy. While I do miss the more zany version of Don Glover, I can appreciate that people grow and change. He's brilliant. Danny Pudi is amazing and I can't wait to see more of what he's doing (e.g. The Tiger Hunter). Same with the rest of the cast from Community. #sixseasonsandamovie
It seems since Donald Glover left Community we haven’t gotten the same fun, upbeat Donald. He’s fully become Childish Gambino. He just doesn’t feel like Troy anymore.

troy traveled the world, gained some perspective, it hardened him, became less childish, but he still devotes his friendship and earnest attention to his beloved Abed.
Finding this ad at this moment is my quarantine confluence, as all I've been doing is watching Community and playing FC4. Until right now I never knew there was any overlap betwixt the two.
Im sad as a massive community fan and Farcry fan that I'm just now seeing this... I feel great shame. Also call of the yeti was fucking sick and I i replay it once a year while watching community, which is a FANTASTIC coincidence! Lol life's kinda nuts like that. Never too late for a chang
