"Dante's Inferno" - FOUR STAR PLAYHOUSE S01E02 (Oct. 2, 1952) 

"Dante's Inferno" marked the debut appearance of Blake Edwards' precursor to Peter Gunn, illicit casino operator Willie Dante. The titular Dante appeared in eight episodes of FOUR STAR PLAYHOUSE, before eventually spinning off into his own weekly series, DANTE, on NBC in 1960. "Dante's Inferno" stars Dick Powell, and features Herb Vigran, Marvin Miller, Regis Toomey and Virginia Grey. It is written by Blake Edwards, and directed by Robert Florey.
