I am a 47-year-old medical sales person that has been a PC gamer at heart since I was in high school. I started a Twitch channel and started streaming a few games and have really enjoyed the whole broadcast nature. I recently decided to purchase a second computer to dedicate as a streaming computer (with an Elgato 4K60 Pro capture card). I have been struggling a bit trying to figure out how to get the audio routed properly and easily. I came upon a few articles on Reddit that suggested using Dante Via. Thankfully, I found your video yesterday and have spent some time digesting how you utilized and explained how you have routed your audio. Your video has really been helpful with me to visualize the entire setup. I just wanted to take a moment out to personally thank you for taking the time and energy to help people like myself (older fella/salesman in trade....PC gamer at heart) figure out the actual power of this program. My question is. With this I don't need to buy a mixer I can have just my audio interface (Focusrite Scarelet 2i2) connected to my streaming PC and use this to use the mic on the gaming pc while getting audio from the streaming pc to the gaming pc using this as well? Last question will this be viable while streaming? or is just gonna take all your internet bandwight. Keep up!
first, if you have a 2i2 you don't need a mixer period, a mixer offers opportunities for more complex quality enhancements but a 2i2 is fine all the same. you will have the 2i2 in the streaming pc with the mic plugged into it, you will then setup both copies of Dante Via so the audio from the stream pc is routed to the headphones wherever they are plugged into.
