With just 3 days until I set off for Romania and my attempt to run the Danube from sea to source, I've pretty much got my kit sorted. I'm attempting to run Europe's Danube River from sea to source, 2,000 miles (3,000km) in 70 days. That's a marathon a day for more than 2 months.
I'll carry everything I need to be self sufficient on the route including sleeping, run gear, camp gear, medical and safety essentials. I'm mixing wild camping with campsites, sofas and the occasional bed when I can find one. But if I need to, I can move, sleep, move with everything I squeeze into an 8kg, 24-litre pack. Woowww I'm feeling nervous even just watching your videos so you must be feeling huge contrasting emotions ... but I'm absolutely certain that the main one is overwhelming anticipation!!! I just can't imagine how you can carry all that stuff AND run a marathon every day!!! Have you weighed it all?? How much does it weigh?? We will be riveted to your channel for daily updates!!!!!

I hope you don't get attacked by wildlife while sleeping. Besides dogs what sort of wildlife do you expect to encounter? Bears? A couple of items to consider taking with you: Safety pins, some thread and needle, duct tape (if something is torn, quick fix)

Hi Kieran. I'm thinking of getting a dog dazer or some repellent for when I'm out running as I've got a friend who recently got attacked. Did you use them? Were they effective?

Hi Phil, I used the Dazzler in Romania and Bulgaria. It worked on some but not all dogs. I also bought deterrent spray from the Police Goods store. Didn’t have to use that but I felt a lot more comfortable having it as back up.
