Hey guys I know this is a super old video but I'm looking for an alternative to an rv5 tagalong which has been discontinued (grrr!). This plus an awning connector reckon that'd work?
Nah, this one won't attach, madframe, Buy you could just leave it freestanding butted up against the awning of your RV5. I'm not sure if Oztent has a plan is for a Tagalong tent replacement, they've never been overly popular. Oztent is pretty innovative though, hopefully they have something exciting in the pipeline. ~ Ben
It won't attach to the 180 or 270 awnings, Adam, as they don't have a sail track on the outer edges in which the connector can slide into. That being said, there is no reason why you couldn't set it up freestanding next to the awning. ~ Ben
Can't for the life of me understand why Australian designed tents always have the window flaps on the outside. If you get cold or hot at night or it starts to rain or you need some privacy to get dressed you can't close them from the inside....Totally dumb in my opinion.
I agree, internally adjustable windows are definitely a plus for any tent, ALB2073. There are a number of tents with this feature now though. The Oztent RV tents have side windows that can be open and closed on the inside, and many Coleman tents have internally adjustable privacy panels. Zempire are another brand that is incorporating internally operated panels too. So they are becoming more prevalent. ~ Ben
I find it completely dumb that these tents don't have internal zips for the windows. If you want to regulate the temperature during the night you have to go outside to zip or unzip the window covers. Also if it starts to rain during the night you have to go outside. Finally when you get up in the morning and want to change you don't have any privacy as you need to go outside yet again to zip the windows....totally bloody stupid.
A lot of manufacturers are starting to include internally adjustable storm flaps or privacy screens, ALB2073. I think it will become far more common in newer tents coming onto the market. ~ Ben
