I printed off still pictures of your video, as guidelines for my hairstylist to use this morning. She was 'brand new', having just finished her schooling a few weeks ago. Of course that made me nervous but she was great. She wasn't able to use your technique (yet) but I did include your RU-vid link on the photos I'd printed so who knows? My cut turned out beautifully and I'm grateful that you posted this, even though I realize it's more for stylists. Thank you and best wishes.
Thank you for a informative video I am a student hairdresser and I love to learn about all of the techniques as you know they only teach you the basics at college.
She is beautiful :) the hair cut looks very nice on her . I like the color. Although I think any hair style would look nice on her ...even if her head was shaved lol. She is stunning!
Good for you! :) My hair is up to shoulder length now and i'm dying to chop it off again. Who cares if men don't like it, it's your head and YOUR hair! :) and if it makes you confident, they'll notice that and men adore a confident woman more than anything else. I'd love to chop mine like you described yours so i could do a chic faux hawk. :) As i said, women use long hair as sort of a hiding mechanism... so, chop it off and strut it out, i'm sure you look fab. :)
Wow, do you know how many times I've requested this hairstyle, especially the wispy edges and back and NO hairdresser ever gets it right. This is beautiful!
I was listening to "Sweet Dreams are Made of This" by Eurythmics, and the chopping motion of the chisel matches perfectly with the beat of the song. :)
Beautiful cut...beautiful model...whats not to like! Nothing old looking about this....it is fresh and modern. I hate long droopy straight hair... thats what looks old. This looks fresh and new.
I absolutely agree! I cut my hair short when I was 16. Last year I started growing it out but cut it all off again recently- shorter than ever. Long hair just doesn't suit my small face and it drags it down. When I cut it again- really short at sides and longer on top so I can do fauxhawk styles and stuff like that- I instantly felt more confident. I know a lot of men don't like short hair on women which is really annoying but I get so many compliments from other women and I know it suits me.
I'd love to find a stylist who could cut my pixie like that...I've had versions of one for most of my long life (I'm 70) And usually cut it myself with a razor blade and thinning scissors. I don't know how to use the heavy bodied stuff so many people use in their short hair...maybe I need to go to a pro and get a lesson!
Short hair on a woman is a sign of confidence. It takes a pretty face to pull it off. One doesn't have to hide behind hair to be sexy, feminine and confident. Frankly, i got the most attention when i chopped off my hair and it wasn't even nearly this short. I am now trying to grow out my hair, but i must admit i'm rethinking that, as anyone can have long hair and it's so common. Not to mention, most women do very little with their long hair, so what's the point?!
I've never seen this dare chisel before. it seems to create a lot of texture that chipping in with scissors does. i agree, if you want a change, taking in photo of how you had your hair a few years back, or from internet or magazines to show this cut, or a second photo to show a longer fringe above one eyebrow.
I just had my hair cut in a pixie...wish she would have had one of these tools. I really like how it is all different layers. Why is it that most hairstylists insists on cutting hair all the same way...like they just got out of cosmetology school??? What is a question we can ask a hairstylist that would give us a clue if they cut good pixie's? btw...loved your video.
Katie sorry for the late reply the haircut is a headshape layer cut with horizontal sections. best thing to do is show the hairdresser the website. good luck.
Hi I want my hair like this, can you please tell me how I describe this cut? I love the style, I want a pixie cut but would like to style it different ways, I also love the fact you styled it with hair dryer with your fingers. Regards
Love the video!! Please do one on hair color (Her color). Love the cut, mine is similar but, I need to get more texturizing. Where r u located..what state?? She is so beautiful, I agree she almost doesn't look real~lol!!
OH wow!!! I love this haircut and hair style. It looks sooo pretty and cute! Where do you go to get this hair cut and what style hair cut is it? I Love it!!! Great job!
evamefun Thanks for your comment, you should try the DAre Chisel a unique sculpting tool a must for the progressive hairdresser available from the DAre Chisel website
Diana ask the question do you understand how to cut hair or do haircuts, hairdressers should be able to use all cutting tools, straight blades, texturisors, clippers, razors and if they have one a chisel.
ask your stylist to buy a chisel kit from darechisel it comes with an instructional video or send them to a class at dare hair in South Australia and yes its hard to find stylists who understand how to cut hair and not just do haircuts.
