Daredevil Omnibus Review 

Josh Long good things always come out of bad things. It is a matter of perspective. Now, to start your channel I recommend you to be yourself. Be unapologetic and try your best. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. It is a learning process and you will have plenty. Concentrate on finding your voice first and speak about the stuff you like. Audio is more important than video. Remember that.

Lol! Sorry, my friend. But I'm sure that you will find it a worthy investment. Yes, I recommend you the companion omnibus. I will probably review it soon. It contains story arcs written by Frank Miller a few years later, but considered quintessential Daredevil's stories. Arcs like "Born Again", "Man without a Fear" and some others. In fact, those inspired many aspects of the Netflix series. You cannot go wrong with the companion at all. Thanks for your support!

Well, it is a matter of opinion. Personally, I would not call it a graphic novel but a story arc. And if that’s the case, it is one of the greatest story arcs within the Marvel Universe for sure. A well written, smartly paced, self contained story. I would recommend you to try it for yourself. Nothing to loose.

Great observation. Eastman and Laid took a lot of inspiration from Miller's run into the TMNT. Many authors and artist have done it since. Besides any opinions people may have of Frank's most recent work and his state of mind, no one can deny that the Man is a genius. A great story teller with his words and his pencils. A rare gem in this crowded industry for sure. Although this is a great omnibus, it does start slow. But you can see the shift as soon as Frank takes charge as the writer. Immediately, there is a different feel to the book. A more mature feel. As the book progresses, the story becomes more enticing. It is hard to put it down. The Born Again series is a clear continuation of the work done here. I can also note that Man without a Fear is a masterpiece in itself. I did not like the start because it seemed too chaotic for me. But as you get deeper into the book, the story takes shape and you can see the brilliancy of Miller's as a writer. It is a captivating prequel to his work, and a hell of a graphic novel (one of the best JRJR pieces of work today). I can't wait to watch the show on Netflix on the 10th! Elias Khoury in my opinion, it is. Of course, everyone has a different view depending on their age group, etc. Now, what makes the Miller's run so iconic is the fact that it redefined the character in the years that came after it. It still does now. Everything we know and considered canonical about Matt Murdoch's alter ego started in the pages of this run. Movies, video games, TV shows and subsequent comic book runs follow the trend started by Frank. Therefore, it is without a doubt the definitive story of this iconic hero.

Hello Eric. This book has been reprinted a few times. It is the same book with the same material. Just be careful not to confuse this omnibus with the omnibus companion. The cover art is very similar, but the content is different and complements each other. If you are a fan of Daredevil and Frank Miller, then both are a must have. Also, there are three TPBs (volume 1-3) containing the material included inside this book. The cover art is very similar for all three and this may be the reason of the confusion. They are cheaper and easier to find, but the Omnibus is a better deal overall. It has better quality and more extras. You can find it at a great price at Instocktrades.com with free shipping within the US ($65).

Yes, this is a great start for Daredevil. The show also takes inspiration from the series "Born Again" and "Man without a Fear". Those were also written by Frank Miller. I do recommend you to read this one fist, and then the other two. That way, it would be easier to understand the thematics of Daredevil's story. Good luck!

Joseph Garcia sure. 162 was a standalone issue. That particular issue was written by Michael Fleisher and the art was done by Steve Ditko. Unfortunately, Marvel did not see the need to include it in this collection because Frank Miller was never involved. A bizarre choice for those interested in keeping up with the chronological order of these stories (Myself included). Good eye!

No. That is contained in the companion omnibus.

Two reasons. First; it has not been reprinted while the regular omnibus has already been printed twice. After the popularity of the DD show, the second print of the original Omnibus has also become rare, therefore the price continues to increase for both (original & companion). Second; it contains two of the most popular stories of Daredevil by Frank Miller in the Omnibus format. For completists and Omnibus collectors like myself, it is a must have regardless of the cost, even when you can find them In other formats for a lot less.

No worries; your english is fine. Personally, I prefer the original Frank Miller Daredevil run over the Born Again and Man Without a Fear runs. Of course, I am a fan of the early 80's comic stuff. Also, it is important to consider that the best way to fully understand and appreciate Miller's work, the last two stories (whether canon or not) are a must read for Comicbook fans. Joe Jessup it depends on the edition. Newer editions have thinner paper. Older ones have thicker paper. However, it is good to note that older omnibuses were heavier and were prone to loose pages due to the extra weight. Thinner paper helps in that regard. Also, I wouldn’t call it low quality paper. It is just thinner. Still sturdier than the paper used in TPB or softcover collections.
