@@DamonLivingston Combine doesn't automatically make you a elite player. FYI. What makes Darius Robinson special is being good at both inside and edge. Versatility is fantastic.
As the off-season has gone on, I’m changing up my priorities and philosophy on pass coverage. I’ve always been a CB/WR guy, but we’ve seen this team let too many plays extend by letting the QB escape. Therefore, Edge, CB, OG, and if an exceptional WR talent like Keon Coleman is available, are all options for that 29th pick in that order.
Damn skippy! 🦁 paired up with Hutchinson. With McNeil and Reader inside…?! That line is gonna be scary next season!!! Now if we can only learn to cover wide receivers, we would be golden! Our coverage is mediocre at best, I can admit it. Our high scoring offense saved our bacon game after game. Defense heavy this draft… And some Oline depth.
I don't think he's big enough for that. If my Seahawks were still in a 4-3, he would be high on my list. But I don't think he can play that OLB/edge spot and he's too small for DE in a 3-4. But if anybody can do it being smaller for that position, it's him. His motor is so good.
Born September 13, 2001. Played high school football for the Canton Chiefs (MI). Played college football for the Missouri Tigers. Drafted #27 by the Arizona Cardinals.
My little brother played him in highschool. Crazy thing is he didn’t play his freshman or sophomore year. He transferred to play football his junior year. Wild story and fun to see a hometown kid have this success
Who is the best guy at 29 to combat Shanahan‘s run game Should the Niners and Lions meet again in the playoffs? Maybe a big DE like Robinson fits well. Play more 5 man front, and they added Reader.
It’s already been said in the comments but his comps are clearly jadaveon clowney and danelle hunter. He’s going to be a problem wherever you line him up on the Defensive Line.
My thoughts as well. Check out Ruke Ohrororo who is about the same size. Ruke has amazing burst. Night and day difference. I think Robinson is a better fit as 4-3 DT
As a lions fan i cant support this dude. we are looking for an edge rusher. And this dude runs a 4.94 40 time. For an edge rusher that is garbage especially for a first round talent. yeah he can play on the inside, but he is under weight for that role in the NFL, and josh paschal already fits that role of someone who can play all over the line, as well as john cominsky. unless there is another edge rusher, a top tier corner, or some other elite talent I would rather trade out of the first round.
Look how long his strides are… After he reads the play, He closes fast! He will be forced to make decisions faster in the NFL. It will be sink or swim… but with the right coaching I think the possibilities will be endless. He certainly possesses the skill set, and athleticism.
