This explains why my 22 year old granddaughter keeps raiding my closet for clothing 🤔 I did not know there was a name for my clothing style (I am into books, worked in libraries, fountain pens...stationary, etc) but I finally asked my Granddaughter why was she borrowing my clothes (she never returns them😂🤣😭🤣😂)...and she never really answered me🙄 but this is definitely her style too... I am 58 years old by the way... I am probably just thinking out loud too... Enjoyed watching! Great information.
I really love dark academia as I love history and learning and cosy autumn days.. but recently I have been loving grunge fairy core. And it has been so cool to incorporate both aesthetics into my autumn wardrobe great video as always 🍁🐿
This was so fun to watch!! I loved that you made it inclusive of more than just clothing. Your room looks so pretty and peaceful, and you have great taste in fashion - not just dark academia but in everything you put together thoughtfully! Where did you get your floral blouse that you wore in the video? Or is it thrifted too? :) Thanks for the fun video! ❤️❤️
I know this comment is months and months after posting, but I have a pair of blackwatch plaid fabric lined 8-eye leather boots ( Dr Martens doesn’t make this style anymore) that I have had for at least 10 years and I LOVE them. I wear them all the time. They will last forever and take a beating. I swapped out the laces with ribbon and usually tie them half way up and fold the tongue down to show off the lining.
You really have great style and it feels so good to see all these great pieces. I love every outfit you put together and those purses are gorgeous. That first blouse is a dream and I wish I could be so lucky to find something thrifting.
Definatly get some Doc Martins! I have a black pair and I literally live in them, they go with pretty much anything and once they're broken in, they're also super comfortable
My daughter (she is 31!) has doc martens and she loves them, for me (i am 57) , i found them to heavy so I bought Clark’s boots , the”Orinoco style” and they are very comfortable
Learn to sew or find somebody who can make you the clothes you want! You will see how great that is, not just new clothes but buy in thrift stores bigger clothes in beautiful fabrics and alter them, I love doing it
IKR? I saw the blouse and got all excited! I was like, I can't wait to get one for myself! It's perfect! A little frilly, small soft romantic floral pattern, And ... it's thrifted 😔 Can't find anything even close to what it looks like. All other blouses are either TOO frilly, BIG florals, BRIGHT colors and/or short sleeved. *sigh*
I have a pair of Doc Martins and I love them! I have the generic black ones but I love that I can loosen the laces and wear them casually or tighten them up and they go with almost everything. In the fall/winter they are pretty much the only shoes I wear. They do take a bit of wear to break them in but once you do they are very comfortable and the price is a bit up there but they do last a long time so I think it is worth it. Hope this helps!! :)
Good question. I wonder if Romney uses any? Some people don't. I imagine for dark academia, you would stick with classic scents - Joy, Chanel #5, L'Air Du Temps By Nina Ricci. Maybe florals like rose, violet lily of the valley, linden, white florals and orange blossom. For a more exotic touch, resinous scents - frankincense, sandalwood, leather, cinnamon, woody and mossy fragrances.
The book _The Maidens_ looked interesting, due to the ancient Greek link so I immediately picked it up. Meh. Save yourself the money. It's a shallow book of pretty people with mental problems. The dark academia vibe is there, but the story is pretty lame.
