My bathroom fan does this and it’s a total nightmare for me because I have a weird phobia of bathroom extractor fans. I don’t know why but just looking at them makes me freak out.
I can't stand bath fans either. Especially the big overkill industrial ones that are wired with the light. I remember a motel 6 I almost had a heart attack from it. I hate the broan 600 models. When I was young I thought it looked like an evil eye staring down at me while at my grandparents house. The jet engine roar just made it worse. They can also cause fires if they get dirty. Too bad its against code to not have one. People really don't understand autism much.
I would die from fear if I was trapped in a dark basement bathroom with that THING making that noise..... :-0 Gives me goosebumps just think about it....
That squeaking noise tells you it needs lubrication BAD, don't use wd-40, it's not the best thing for lifetime lubrication, use some lightweight heavy duty motor oil
The reason for the squeaky sounds is because of bad or dry bearings and a rotor lockout and with those mixed it will make does sounds turn it off before it starts a fire you should never run fans with bad rotors and bad bearings mixed together that’s how exhaust fan fires happen.
Creepy as hell! In the dark and alone? I've had nightmare about this kinda stuff... Can't turn on the lights, but whatever switches I flick-on only turn on loud creepy ceiling vent fans. Awful.
Oof, you mean like all those times in the darkness and trying to find the light on switch for the bathroom only to hit the fan one by accident?. Yeah... that I can relate to cause I've done that, too. But my nightmare was the heat vent duct pipe bursting out of my brown folding back closet as a monster and going towards me to get me or my ceiling fan falling off of the ceiling at high speed and bouncing off of the floor and coming right at me whirling still fast spinning blades and all.
My cousin used to have a worse squeakier exhaust but the bathroom had a skylight and was upstairs. Now it’s been fixed. (The light was broken for some time too)
wd-40 will maybe help just spray a little burst and let it sit there and test out the fan if it works there’s no noise if it still makes noises after you sprayed wd-40 again the fan might collect too much debris and should be replaced
Is the fan even working? I don’t hear a fan on. I just hear the motor and the squeaking. I assume the squeaking is from the fan trying to rotate itself, but is having trouble due to poor lubrication.
THIS IS MY WORST NIGHTMARE I DON'T LIKE IT IMAGINE HEARING THIS BATHROOM EXHAUST FAN AT 2:30AM IN THE MORNING THIS CREEPY NUTONE BATHROOM EXHAUST FAN IS TOO LOUD
Me too. I'm fine with the one in my house because it's fairly quiet, and you can't see the fan at all (It's covered by a big light). When I go to someone elses house, I have to ask which switch turns on the fan and which turns the lights on 😂😂
