A truly hypnotic and passionate rendering of a classic Dylan song, a beautiful interpretation with outstanding guitar work and soul-searing vocals. When an artist puts this much of their soul into a song, it shows. One of the best covers of any song I've heard, and hope to hear more. You are a special performer. Back in '85, when i first heard this song, I was just back back from a tour to Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Tonga. Can you did just how much this song touched me??? Can you? It hit me like the "Star-Spangled Banner" did. In a different way, of course, but just as heavy!... yes?
This is a great cover of a classic Bob song. It deserves to be as well known as Halleluyah, and Bob sang it great on Empire Burlesque...No one gets inside the songs like Bob...
That was absolutely beautiful. I have seen the great one himself perform this live many times, it is a musical literary work of genius greater than any I have ever known.
This is the best version of this song I ever heard. Finger-picking improves it. I was thinking of doing a version but won't be able to improve on this. Lovely.
Hi Kait, had to check this out after you told us about it at the Clover Room last night. Great show last night, and such a haunting and soulful version captured in this video as well. Very rich and soulful. I was impressed by your finger-picking skills last night, and this song does a good job of highlighting your deft touch on the strings.
I love it. Your voice is good, yes, and you hit the notes, but that's not why it's a good cover. It's because you phrase it perfectly, turning each line into a further movement of a certain feeling or idea, just like the song's writer himself. It'd make Dylan proud. Good job, and please post more videos.
